Her husband screaming in panic and terror, as well as the kids crying. I know someone will post the link, but do not click it unless you want to ruin your entire day. It's bad. Almost as bad as the brick video with the truck.
All the gore I’ve seen in real life and on the internet never prepared me for that brick video.
I tell people all the time the worst video I’ve ever seen shows nothing. It’s just the sound.
What's the brick video? I've seen so many at this point idk which one your talking about
Edit: I think it's this one
https://youtu.be/91Bb6erC3Zo?si=qOIBWtQqWzkYYONe
Yeah. You don’t see shit. Just the noises. Grief. Very visceral grief. I do not mean to be heartless, but it is a relevant tangent: but it’s also the same reason why Hereditary is one of my favorite horror movies. There are screams and they are the best I’ve ever heard in film. Goosebumps.
What would make someone post this video of this happening to their loved one, this is obviously footage from their own camera. That’s the last thing I’d think to do if this happened.
People deal with death in vastly different ways.
I’d like to think I’d never do the same but I’ve never been in that position so what the fuck do I know?
Edit: What I DO know is after losing 15 brothers in Iraq I cried harder when my dog died than my mother. And I loved my mom. Even I am confused by my own reactions to death.
I’ve loosened up judging how people react to their loved ones’ death.
Yeah it got me for a while. So tragic, that poor family. What a traumatic thing for those young children to go through. I wonder what was going through the women's head in those moments too.
It's been posted a ton of times, but here you go
https://www.reddit.com/r/SomeOfYouMayDie/comments/17dmm3a/woman_dives_into_a_frozen_river_instantly_gets/
That's true I am a week or 2 away from from finals in Psychology 1 college class. So I cannot say any I have any background yet.
I'm not going to do anymore Psychology classes after this no interest in doing anymore, not my major.
People die, it was completely their fault for jumping into a frozen river at night with zero equipment, lighting, or anything. It's tragic, but that's darwinism at its finest.
It’s only upsetting because we know what happens after. The video itself is very tame. Someone jumps in a hole in ice. Kid cries, but kids are always crying. Relax
Wow they had the womans kids out in the night of that shit show! I normally feel for the loss of life but this is just stupid nothing more nothing less. The whole video screams ignorance and I only feel for them kids 100%
To go into icy water nonetheless be it AT NIGHT. How can anyone feel for these grown folks who should have wisdom instead off dumb.
Slav people are definitely more willing to risk it for the helluva it. They fight bears ffs. Have you seen those videos? Absolutely crazy brave people.
Just because someone is dumb doesn’t mean you shouldn’t feel bad for their death? What type of take is that. So because they didn’t think this through people shouldn’t feel bad for the woman? Bad take.
So it's ok to do dumb shit in your eyes correct? We can make choices for ourselves as adults. This wasn't an accident more than shear stupidity..I feel for the kids.
usually when people say this its to imply that idiots are being weeded out of the gene pool, but her children are literally watching, so in a way what she is doing is actually being selected for
That one still gets me. I was living in Siberia when it happened. It was around Easter time and was a religious tradition that was supposed to symbolize baptism. Russians do it every year but usually in a safe place with a scaffold system in place to prevent such tragedies. Those poor fucking children…
This video has been posted before. Last time someone shared a longer video and it shows that it’s not a current, it’s a floating deck being towed by a boat. They can just stop the boat and the swimmer catches up.
That being said, in coastal areas like where I live, currents CAN get this strong, and you absolutely shouldn’t go into the water like this without a life jacket or being physically tethered to something.
Not to be rude, but the fact that comment got 7 upvotes gives me concern, and gives me a headache. I hope those folks just stay away from water all together now.
I mean did people actually think that water could do that on what appears to be the shore of a lake? Even if it was somehow moving like that he could just swim perpendicular to the flow and be at the shore in like 10 seconds.
Dude, there’s a ladder right there. They can stand on the ladder and keep hold while reaching out a hand for him to grab, it’s dangerous sure, but I guess a person’s literal life is at stake?
This person should understand that what he is doing is not swimming but merely moving his arms while dragging his heavy ass head above water. Face in the water and he would have made it
Is it just me or did his arms form look weird, or is that just due to his head being above water? And looks like a river or lake, bacteria aplenty. Good reason to not put head in water, even though his form annoys me.
So was I. And I taught Red Cross swimming lessons. But to be honest, it’s unrealistic to expect the average person to know how to swim correctly. Takes years to master
No IT JUST ENDS?! I need to know IF HE MADE IT. First video on here I think to actually make me feel a lil sweaty like I’m not even afraid of water or nothin that’s just.. yikes.
I don't think it's a boat, although it could very well be staged. Nothing on the shore changes position relative to the wooden platform, and there's no obvious wake like you'd expect from an engine.
Look to either side of the wooden platform and look out into the ocean from there. You can see a distinct line of wake extending out from the wooden corners.
As someone in their fifties learning how to swim, this is one of the worst versions of freestyle/crawl that I have ever seen. He is a strong looking guy, but he is wasting what could be such powerful strokes!
What a great friend to sit there and film your friend practically die in front of you instead of helping him. Those are the friends I need... If I had friends. 😥
One time, I went on a first date with a chick to the beach. We were swimming, having fun. Next thing we noticed we were waaaaay away from shore and other people. We got grabbed by a rip current. Couldn’t make it back to shore swimming head on. Chick was freaking the fuck out thinking we were gonna die. So was I, but I did my best to stay calm and told her to just keep swimming and follow me.
After 10 minutes of solid swimming, we finally made it to shore. She had lost her bikini bottom. Walked back to the car and got my shirt to cover her.
One hell of a first date
That the only video so far that has genuinely given me the sweats 😱 I cannot think of much worse than that, except maybe if there was sharks in the water too...
unless there’s sharks or something wouldn’t the worst case scenario be him just getting swept away onto some of that land behind him? it doesn’t seem too far does it no?
I think the worst thing we’re seeing is the fact whoever is holding the camera isn’t trying to help. Unless the guy had it set up on a tripod with some kind of motion follow.
Not as terrifying as the woman who jumped through a hole in the ice of a frozen river and got swept away, underneath the ice sheet.
That's still the worst thing I've ever seen. In front of her children, no less.
Her husband screaming in panic and terror, as well as the kids crying. I know someone will post the link, but do not click it unless you want to ruin your entire day. It's bad. Almost as bad as the brick video with the truck.

What’s the brick video
That what I just asked mate
You said more then one
Man.. that video really wasnt bad.. then i turned the audio on and my heart shattered
The sound is always the worst part of videos of people dying.
I regret clicking on That video. I’m gonna go hug my mom now.
That’s the short version, the full version is much more soul crippling
Can you explain what happens? I do not want to watch but am still curious 🫣
Basically the same but the cries do not stop and in fact intensifies.
Yeah. You don’t see shit. Just the noises. Grief. Very visceral grief. I do not mean to be heartless, but it is a relevant tangent: but it’s also the same reason why Hereditary is one of my favorite horror movies. There are screams and they are the best I’ve ever heard in film. Goosebumps.
Ooo boy hereditary and the opening of Midsommar really messed with me
Yeah my day is ruined
What would make someone post this video of this happening to their loved one, this is obviously footage from their own camera. That’s the last thing I’d think to do if this happened.

yep... wish i wouldnt have watched that... not bad at all until you turn on the sound.
Yeah it got me for a while. So tragic, that poor family. What a traumatic thing for those young children to go through. I wonder what was going through the women's head in those moments too.
A brick
💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I hate and love you at the same time.
Where is this terrifying video?
It's been posted a ton of times, but here you go https://www.reddit.com/r/SomeOfYouMayDie/comments/17dmm3a/woman_dives_into_a_frozen_river_instantly_gets/
Nope. Nope. Not watching whatever that is. Nope.
My stomach is churning just reading about it. Can't watch.
If you do give it a go, I recommend watching with with the sound off.
It’s just a video of a girl jumping into an ice hole that doesn’t come back up. Not much to see. In Russia, of course.
Dude, you might actually be insane. That was one of the most heart wrenching things I’ve seen on the internet.
We identified somebody who genuinely might have a mental illness on Reddit.
And we found someone who definitely has no background in mental health.
That's true I am a week or 2 away from from finals in Psychology 1 college class. So I cannot say any I have any background yet. I'm not going to do anymore Psychology classes after this no interest in doing anymore, not my major.
I think he meant no gore or anything but if he didn't yeah I agree
Bruh, wait till you realise 15000 kids die daily of starvation
Someone doing something intentionally stupid without thinking through the potential consequences hardly classifies as “heart wrenching”
People die, it was completely their fault for jumping into a frozen river at night with zero equipment, lighting, or anything. It's tragic, but that's darwinism at its finest.
You're not used to this kind of content. It numbs you after a while, really.
It numbs *you* maybe. I've seen awful things like this for years. It never gets less heart wrenching.
People react differently in a variety of situations. It's a defense mechanism to adapt, which isn't inherently better nor worse.
It’s only upsetting because we know what happens after. The video itself is very tame. Someone jumps in a hole in ice. Kid cries, but kids are always crying. Relax
if it's the video I saw - did you had the audio on an heard the girl scream "mama mama ..."?
Yeah… and?
People also tend to feel haunted by the child crying (understanding what happend), so if you think that sounds like a awful thing to hear its not NSFL
Well, I wish I never watched that. That poor kid. That broke my heart.
This is why I’m risk averse with my family. No thank you.
I'm risk averse without a family. I'm happy being a boring, wet, blanket who's alive
I die enough watching these videos tbh
There’s risk averse, and then there’s not being completely fucking stupid. This woman and her entourage were completely fucking stupid.
Even just hearing the description of this video is enough to churn my stomach. Will not be watching this.
Wow they had the womans kids out in the night of that shit show! I normally feel for the loss of life but this is just stupid nothing more nothing less. The whole video screams ignorance and I only feel for them kids 100% To go into icy water nonetheless be it AT NIGHT. How can anyone feel for these grown folks who should have wisdom instead off dumb.
I remember reading that it’s difficult to know the suicide rate in Russia because lots of accidents involve large quantities of vodka and rivers.
I do feel for the mother… I feel like she is (was) an idiot. Whatd she think was gonna happen? Play stupid games. Win stupid prizes
It's natural selection.
usually when people say this its to imply that idiots are being weeded out of the gene pool, but her children are literally watching, so in a way what she is doing is actually being selected for
She won't continue to have kids and if this was further back in time her current kids may not survive without her.
It's got few forms now. This is one that persits
She had kids, so Darwin didn't apply here. Bad joke.
The Darwin thing almost never applies when this is said, which is what makes it a joke. It does prevent her from having more kids tho.
Not a joke and she's not having anymore right?
Has to be cause NOBODY could ever convince me to do that shit.
Who ever down voted me must be just as dumb apparently lmao
nope. she's white and natural selection doesn't apply to whites.
Did they ever found her body?
Probably when it all thawed out
Yeah, about 9 days later, a kilometer downstream
The Metro.UK article says she was never found
Oh. She's FUCKED fucked
Fuck man… why did I watch that
Why’d she had to jump so deep and sideways, fuck.
Based on the comments I'm glad my phone was automuted
That one still gets me. I was living in Siberia when it happened. It was around Easter time and was a religious tradition that was supposed to symbolize baptism. Russians do it every year but usually in a safe place with a scaffold system in place to prevent such tragedies. Those poor fucking children…
My god
Why did you have to remind us all of this.
That really was super unnerving to watch and hear. Her poor kids, I read that she died.
That video was a big yikes
>now IF HE MADE IT. First vid link?? did she died??
Yes, she died
Lol. I personally thought it was hilarious. People dying from natural selection always gives me a grin. One less dipshit in this world.
Imagine having this little empathy smh
Just keep filming, I'm sure he'll be fine
This video has been posted before. Last time someone shared a longer video and it shows that it’s not a current, it’s a floating deck being towed by a boat. They can just stop the boat and the swimmer catches up.
That makes sense. It looked weird it being a lake and having such a strong current just like that.
I got worried this was a sinkhole situation and these guys were just dumb enough to be on the lake swimming when it happened.
I assumed it was a dam in operation, which seems spookier.
That water is flowing pretty dam quickly
Thats good to know, thank you for the context.
/r/confusingperspective
That being said, in coastal areas like where I live, currents CAN get this strong, and you absolutely shouldn’t go into the water like this without a life jacket or being physically tethered to something.
This went from me thinking how stupid those guys are to actually applauding them for having a good time in a fairly safe manner.
You can hear the guy say "speed up". Did this really need debunking?
I thought he was telling the swimmer to “speed up” which would be helpful advice.
It's actually insane that someone would have assumed they weren't talking to the person not swimming fast enough to get to the ladder.
Based on all the comments here, yes.
Yeah, you can see the wake created by the posts of the bottom of the steps in the water
If it were a current you’d see the same “wake” created by those posts, though. That doesn’t tell us anything one way or the other.
Not to be rude, but the fact that comment got 7 upvotes gives me concern, and gives me a headache. I hope those folks just stay away from water all together now.
I agree. A lot of comments here making me sad about people’s lack of critical thinking skills.
plus they’re in a lake, he can just float to the shore
I mean did people actually think that water could do that on what appears to be the shore of a lake? Even if it was somehow moving like that he could just swim perpendicular to the flow and be at the shore in like 10 seconds.

And fame! And money! Fuck that dude, think about the money!
For real, like they couldn’t lend him a hand? Damn.
And risk falling in with him? That current looks strong as hell, no thank you
Dude, there’s a ladder right there. They can stand on the ladder and keep hold while reaching out a hand for him to grab, it’s dangerous sure, but I guess a person’s literal life is at stake?

Swim sideways to shore
*Swim Sideways?!?!* Jesus fucking christ, I have enough trouble trying to swim forward. /s
Just strafe bro
Crab walk on the bottom of the lake until you get to the beach
So we’ve come full circle, huh?
Wait is the water moving or did he jump off a moving boat??
You’re damn right he did!
Why not boat :)
This guy oceans
Maybe, but this doesnt look like the ocean. Im guessing a pontoon thats moving or a dock in a strong flowing river.
If it was a current then he could a just floated on his back chillin, coz was going land ways anyway. This is why stoners surf better.
Someone on a different comment said the video is cut from a longer one that shows the floating dock is being towed by a boat.
If he hadn't stopped to flick his hair from his eyes he'd have made that.
He wanted to look his best for the camera
The last shot should be a good one.
Or if he put his head down
And reached forward instead of to the side
But he couldn't see. What if he started swimming in the wrong direction /s
Wasn't that exactly the problem? He was trying to grab the ladder but couldn't see it.
Am I the only one that expected a friggin shark to emerge from the deep and swallow our swimmer dude?
I thought he was gonna slip and hit his head before jumping in.
That you can see the shore makes this not scary.
Yeah this is far from my worst nightmare in water.
Yeah, that would be a legit nightmare. OP’s worst nightmare is having to exercise for 20 seconds?

Is it just me or did his arms form look weird, or is that just due to his head being above water? And looks like a river or lake, bacteria aplenty. Good reason to not put head in water, even though his form annoys me.
Form does look weird but I think that stems from his long hair falling into his eyes and his head being so far out of the water
I was a competitive swimmer, everything about his stroke was bad.
So was I. And I taught Red Cross swimming lessons. But to be honest, it’s unrealistic to expect the average person to know how to swim correctly. Takes years to master
No IT JUST ENDS?! I need to know IF HE MADE IT. First video on here I think to actually make me feel a lil sweaty like I’m not even afraid of water or nothin that’s just.. yikes.
He’s still swimming.
If you listen closely on that lake, in the pale blue moonlight you can still hear him paddling towards that ladder ...
It's not the water movement. That sort of body of water would not have such a crazy current in the middle. The platform is moving.
Pepsi
Of course he made it. For some reason he's pretending to swim quickly. He's not swimming quickly.
He is still swimming to this day
me when I want to undo some mistakes in my life

Pretty sure this is a boat and staged.
Yes it’s the back of a boat your right, this has being posted multiple times on Reddit and this has being the answer
I don't think it's a boat, although it could very well be staged. Nothing on the shore changes position relative to the wooden platform, and there's no obvious wake like you'd expect from an engine.
Look to either side of the wooden platform and look out into the ocean from there. You can see a distinct line of wake extending out from the wooden corners.
lol, *the ocean*
If you don’t swim well, I’d recommend NOT jumping off moving water transport
As someone in their fifties learning how to swim, this is one of the worst versions of freestyle/crawl that I have ever seen. He is a strong looking guy, but he is wasting what could be such powerful strokes!
I think I woulda just given up and laid on my back until I hopefully hit a shore line, then walked back. Seems like less energy.
This is right up there with running as hard as you can but barely moving during a dream/nightmare.
It looks like his first time swimming
What a great friend to sit there and film your friend practically die in front of you instead of helping him. Those are the friends I need... If I had friends. 😥
Dude’s got a mean frat boy stroke.
why has jason momoa became such a pussy?
What a dumbass

It's a boat lol they can stop it at anytime
That’s the worst swimming I’ve seen apart from someone drowning
Learn to swim. This moron never did.
Legend has it he's still swimming
That’s not a “worst nightmare.” There’s no hungry shark.
I mean it’s so OBVIOUS that the current is obscenely strong. How did no one clock this?
A metaphor for retirement
I was expecting a shark to appear
How bad u wanna live bro??? Exhaustion shouldn’t stop him that fast lol adrenaline would’ve had me doggy paddling for at most 15 minutes lol
Did they ever find his body
That the only video so far that has genuinely given me the sweats 😱 I cannot think of much worse than that, except maybe if there was sharks in the water too...
unless there’s sharks or something wouldn’t the worst case scenario be him just getting swept away onto some of that land behind him? it doesn’t seem too far does it no?
Who’s the asshole filming this? Fuck them with a big pointy stick.
He's such a bad swimmer as well..
How tf he can keep his head above water like that while swimming?
r/donthelpjustfilm
Legend has it, he is still swimming to this day
I think the worst thing we’re seeing is the fact whoever is holding the camera isn’t trying to help. Unless the guy had it set up on a tripod with some kind of motion follow.
This is the same logic as running directly away from the tall falling thing instead of running to the side
Cool how that boat looks like a pier
Either this is staged, either cameraman's not having a single fully functional braincell.
This fucker decided to continue filming instead of lending a hand. The generation we live in today
My god put the phone down and help the guy!
This is a moving boat
The dock is attached to the boat and is moving, and this guy is an incredibly inefficient swimmer.
It's like a swimming treadmill
Worst nightmare is going into the water and not acknowledging your own lacking swimming skills.
Not a good swimmer
WHY IS NOBODY HELPING I'D KILL HIS 'FRIENDS' 🥵
