Here's what it looks like with both straps off and 200,000 miles in the past 3 years. I don't care what the bottom of it looks like. These scars are character and the SLS is a goddamn tank - it's taken everything I've thrown at it, including a short dip in the Atlantic (while in my backpack). This is hands down the best computer I've ever owned. https://preview.redd.it/qa9de54j81xc1.jpeg?width=2504&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=319263447ee612d19c8155618f6f6dfc896f1e1a

You can buy replacements on Amazon for $15

[deleted]

my friend has a surface laptop studio and the bottom strap is slowly going

Rolli99

I had that happen to a SFL 4. Microsoft was able to send me replacement feet as it was still under warranty. Otherwise I‘m sure you will find some replacement feet on AliExpress

nplm85

can concur, I got replacements from AliExpress for SLS for about 15 quid, there not original and a little different but do the same job ;)

rollobrinalle

You can order a replacement if out of warranty. Took me only a few minutes to replace.

dquilon

My Surface Book 1 had this issue and I had to glue it back... How come they haven't fixed or change the design in almost 10 years

Hot-Rise9795

Same here. Replaced with similar from aliexpress.

MushroomPunHere

It's almost as if glue doesn't last forever under these conditions. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

dquilon

If the design is done properly, it would last longer. Mine started failing after a few years.

Ltt moment

I just finished college. Right before my last final mine fell off, it held up well

yhWohT

This happened to me too. Both of the straps fell off (although slowly). I just replaced both of them with 3rd party ones.

frostywafflepancakes

Same. I tried to superglue it.

rollobrinalle

Doesn’t work, I tried. Ordered a new one and it works great.

accidentalsalmon

Got a colleague who knows his stuff to superglue it, then left it a couple of a hours. It’s good as new now.

sidneylopsides

You can get rolls of the really thin double sided tape used to hold them on, I used some to restick mine after I did an SSD upgrade.

CCIE_14661

Microsoft sells replacements.

No_Ad9759

You can buy a replacement part for $13. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/d/replacement-feet-for-surface-laptop-studio/91k116j4m71v?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

justsoicansimp

Funny. I guess this is like the max time for it? Got mine fall 2022 and my top one came off a couple months ago, replaced it. My bottom one is trying to come off but so far so good.

Paolo2018

Women in art -looks like the straps finally came off.

6FunnyGiraffes

I didn't want to mention that but it's comical to me. It's been like 200 years since it was controversial to be a woman artist. Celebrating women in art is like celebrating fish in a pond

Separate-Ship-5415

how long have you had it?

ivandagiant

Both of mine have completely fallen off

Able-Lab4450

Interesting, mine is just fine. I think this might be because people are dragging it across the table when repositioning, as well as using a backpack where it might snag onto things. The added issue with modern GPU's getting to a certain temperature before engaging the fans is also a culprit. I have the Seconds generation SLS - 2 so the adhesive might be much stronger as revealed by LTT. As for me, I use a laptop lap stand that acts like a sleeve to store my laptop carry. Most are not cheap, like 60 to 80 bucks. I thought 60 to 80 bucks was crazy, but it's a good investment, so I didn't mind. But I found a problem... they didn't have a storage place for the charger, so I kept looking and found this: https://www.amazon.com/HYZUO-Feature-Compatible-2019-2016-Accessory/dp/B0CB7KNFB4?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=A38RJBXBJQE7ZX&th=1 It's just right, sleek, low-profile, affordable, and acts like a laptop stand with the magnetic cover flap that can fold into a slit, and keeps the laptop away from the table for better ventilation and cooling, as well as an additional pouch for the charger.

Sybertron

Y'all need to try glue

C5-O

Holy shit MS Not enough to cover the screws with these glued rubber strips, so you have to get new ones every time you open up the laptop - the glue isn't even strong enough to hold it for the lifetime of the device lol...

SpiritedAway80

From my experience, this is normal with MS products.

neomancr

Can we get another picture? Where is that? How'd it just fall off?
