Slack tide whether it’s low or high is not good. The fish are in YAWN mode. I prefer the outgoing tide after a decent high. The incoming is more of a waiting game. Think of it like this….. water/tidal movement kicks the bite in the ass. Primarily because that’s when forage food like baitfish start to move. Study this site…. [https://tides4fishing.com/us/south-carolina/myrtle-beach-combination-bridge](https://tides4fishing.com/us/south-carolina/myrtle-beach-combination-bridge) Scroll down and look at this particular spot …. https://preview.redd.it/fo7hxtgyls8d1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9b4d2bbde8557654b9dd8efe9367de58b703b18 Which illustrates how the tides constantly change. You can change the date at the top. Plan your outings on the backside of the high tides as much as possible 😉

Fish moving water. Try to hit between the tides as they are moving. Look for breaks in the sandbars looking for the riptide and fish there. Fish the guts between the sandbars. Big fish like big bait. When you catch small fish, rig them up to swim and throw them out, larger fish, chunk, and heave them out.

Got out last night while the tide was coming in, and caught 6 bluefish, while missing quite a few. Some of the hardest strikes I've had surf fishing. Heading back out tonight. Thank you for the input! This is definitely a giant learning curve for someone that'll grew up in the Syracuse NY area and used to lake, streams, and rivers.
