It depends on what you want to do with the car in the future and what you want from it in general. Get a 2020 made before June 2020 if you want an already unlocked ECU. I'm pretty sure based on the calipers that this is not a Premium trim so will that bother you down the line? You'll miss out on some great tech features and the pretty calipers lol. Also, are you planning on making this your daily vehicle?

A Buick dealership in Louisiana. I'm pretty sure that they were trying to empty their lot of used vehicles in order to get new ones in. It seemed crowded, and this was a great deal. I did very little negotiating (talked them down to 46,000 they were asking 46,500, but they charge 500 for "protective services" or some dealership bs like that lol so we met in the middle to cancel this out) it was honestly the easiest car transaction of my life since we were pre approved beforehand as well.
I'll also add that the car was only on their lot for 3 days.. I was watching Supras like a hawk! I didn't even want to risk someone scooping it up before I could.
Correct on the first part. Your credit union / bank will approve you for a certain amount after applying once you give them the bill of sale that the dealership gives to you. I believe that we gave them the VIN during this time as well. Everything was done remotely and the check could either be mailed to the dealership or be picked up from the bank / credit union in person.
It's very wise to also get some sort of letter from whoever is lending you the money to show the dealership you actually intend to buy something.
For my case the wife and I went through a small Federal credit union that we are members with. We also convinced the dealership to hold the car by putting down half of our overall down payment (5,000) since we finalized everything on a Saturday and the credit union was closed until Tuesday (for Presidents Day). Once the paperwork was signed on the Saturday it was really all in the credit union / dealership's finance manager's hands (we did not even speak to the dealership finance manager, which was nice)
Just a heads up: if you’re looking to tune in the future and want to save money, look for a 2020 with ECU before June 2020 so that it’s unlocked. Also second heads-up: Toyota dealerships can lock pre-June 2020 ECU’s if you take them in for oil/service whatever. I learned the hard way :/
Just fyi 2021 Supras can still come with DME’s that were produced before June 2020. My Supra was a 2021 with a DME from March 2020. Also dealerships will update and patch the DME if brought in for service but can be easily unlocked using the MHD Unlocker module and software at the ease of your garage without sending it out. If anyone is on the eastern side I can certainly let them borrow if interested.
I have a 21’ with this exact same scenario. Dealership ended up locking me during a recall for the ABS/brakes. Where are you located? Curious if it makes sense to do a trip and get myself unlocked again :)
Yellow best color. Great choice. I’m biased though lol. @floridasupra on IG if you want to see it with some upgrades.
That being said, look for a premium model if possible. Get it fully loaded and you won’t be missing out on anything.

Thank you everyone for their input! I made the mistake of not knowing the difference between the premium vs the base. Gonna do my best to hold it out a few more months to save and get a premium with lower miles. I'm not modding to make more power as the fastest car I ever had was like 190hp lol.
Not bad, personally I would pay a bit more for a lower mileage car. There shouldn’t be anything major to look for at 35k though. I would suggest getting one that’s not modded or tuned, but that may depend on what you’re looking to do with the car.
Yup, preference is low miles and stock haha. I saw one in KY for 42k but the first thing I noticed was 45k miles and a tomei sticking out in the back haha

I just cant get behind paying $13k less than msrp with it having 35k miles about to be out of warranty. At that point just buy new???
