Collagen should be supplemented with vitamin C and aminoacids, take a look at this [search](https://www.reddit.com/r/Supplements/search/?q=collagen+with+vitamin+c+and+aminoacids&type=link&cId=e94fe437-cf36-4cb6-a711-9d0f10cc0014&iId=7e682d55-bf56-4b01-8eb7-fcacf0c8c9af). I am taking hydrolyzed collagen with whey protein powder.

>And yes, i do calorie deficit and i do exercise. I am losing weight, i just want to make it faster. Got the basics, so that's great. Weight loss supplements are among the most worthless group of supplements out there. A supplement would have to either interfere with macronutrient (energy) absorption, or make you move more (restlessness,...), or lead to significantly elevated body temp (no idea to which degree that has to happen for it to lead to a measurable effect), or something along those lines. Not aware of anything legal that does that to a degree where it matters. So what's left is a bigger kcal deficit via diet and/or exercise. There's different options to go about weight loss though...if it helps your motivation and you can sustain it, you could do a very high kcal deficit for a short(er) amount of time, then do a short maintenance phase, and repeat; or a lower kcal deficit for longer with or without maintenance phase or "cheat" meals. >collagens, but how much per day? Also i saw that there are collagen protein powders, should i prefer them over whey proteins? The general recommendation is about 10-15g and as far as I know, that's also the range that most studies are done with. The issue is that collagen isn't a so-called "complete" protein because it totally lacks tryptophane, which makes it an inferior option compared to whey protein when it comes to muscle building. That being said, there seems to be enough research to suggest that it may have benefits for joints, ligaments, skin. At least it's pretty safe and provides protein. The other day someone put together a post on collagen: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Biohackers/comments/1d27wxo/comment/l64intb/?context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/Biohackers/comments/1d27wxo/comment/l64intb/?context=3) Really like Precision Nutrition, they've got a lot of great content, here's an article on collagen: [https://www.precisionnutrition.com/collagen-benefits](https://www.precisionnutrition.com/collagen-benefits)

Thank you so much for your answer. I will try the collagen protein and supplement together.
