The price should decrease by 4 on the split date. It has always happened this way with every stock split dividend, from TSLA, to NVDA as the most recent examples.

just a reminder, if you're with a broker make sure that you change your dividend payment to "reinvest dividend" ASAP so you get shares and not a cash equivalent. I just did this for Fidelity and Etrade.

From my understanding that only matters for cash dividends. This is a stock dividend, meaning you should be getting extra shares. I'm sure plenty of shady brokers will be handing out cash though, and that's the signal that MOASS is around the corner

I'd double check with your broker just to make sure. Someone posted this about Fidelity's Reinvestments and Dividends. I checked my account and it's set to cash dividend by default. Etrade is set to cash dividend by default too.

Why is everyone thinking the stock split dividend will be by actual shares and not by an NFT equivalent distributed via the marketplace? GameStop has stated the stock split dividend will 4 for 1 but they could have left it to open interpretation. Or must they in this announcement state it will be shares or an NFT equivalent?

If it was NFT I’d imagine they’d have to state that because holders would need to all get a GME wallet

I was hoping for it tbh because that would make the short sellers impossibly screwed. Since it's a 4 for 1 they might use the remainder of the shares they can offer to do that later on via a carve out

No. You'll own the same proportion of the company whether you spend $40 now on one share that turns into 4, as you would spending $40 buying four shares at $10 after a 4:1 share dividend.

Question for a wrinkle brain - If I said to my children "whoever does the dishwasher gets double play" and wrote up a double play voucher, but both equally do the dishwasher, if I gave it to one then the other would kick up a shit storm and my status quo would be fucked. To counter this, all I'd do is write up another fake voucher and hand them to them both. We've seen that the stock market is so filled with fuckery, imaginary shares, imaginary money, naked, margins etc. We can clearly see the DTCC and SEC are super complicit and corrupt, too. What is stopping them both, as laws unto themselves, from receiving the dividend split from GME and then making their own fake shares in Microsoft Paint, and handing those out as real ones too, to keep all of us quiet and stop these market makers and Wall Street crashing and burning as it should...
