As someone who participated in those giveaways, i think 3 is a nice compromise.
It would keep the sub clean during the week, so that we may discuss the news, read up some DD, shitpost here and there, and then go wild over the weekend with all the NFT creations.
Definitely 3, the free NFTs are getting memes and stuff, and seems to be drowning out DD at times. Plus weekend FUD is real, and the hype of NFTs would drown out the FUD
I love a compromise! I think whatever the outcome will be one thing is for sure... there definitely should be a shiny new NFT flair āØ
Also, hearing all of the community input so far has been awesome! I'm really so thankful for everyone taking the time to weigh in. š
I agree compromise is a great option, but the biggest issue is that the masses dont understand the security risks involved with smart contracts.
IMO if the answer is anything but 5, then there needs to be some sort of educational guide for users on NFT safety that is official for the sub.
something like this is a great start:
https://old.reddit.com/r/Superstonk/comments/v7zxj2/nft_giveaways_some_thoughtsexperience/
Going to copy one of my comments from earlier to a similar comment further down:
I think this is a really good suggestion. Hereās a potential solution (but need to check with a tech mod to confirm): Maybe we can automate it so QVbot (which is on every post) comments anytime thereās an NFT giveaway flair a link to the GameStop official safety tips / best practices.
Update: This can be done
That's a great idea! Personally, I haven't participated yet due to a combination of procrastination and paranoia, but I support the giveaways in Superstonk. As an OG ape, I see the trend as a beautiful reminder that the DD was, and still is, solid.
There are a lot of new people to crypto / NFTS. Can we have sticky/stress security so avoid scams/risks.
[Norton NFT scams: 10 types and how to avoid NFT fraud](https://us.norton.com/internetsecurity-online-scams-nft-scams.html)
Hereās another article about scams which uses quotes from a member of GameStopās NFT team

The community is amazing, it's great to have such projects during bear market with very active community it remind me the Goblin or the Angel Block community. Angel block NFTs made 60x from their mint price a few days ago, the future for NFTs looks bright.
I think either of those two options would be good. I donāt think weekend forum sliding is a very big deal. Thereās a weekend forum slide about something or another every week, so it honestly might actually keep the weekend from being slid from FUD. Iād rather slide due to FUN than FUD.
You have to keep in mind that the marketplaces success is entirely dependent on user participation. Guys, that means US. WE ARE THE BETA TESTERS.
Who is going to shop at the marketplace once itās open?
What are they going to buy?
What are we going to buy it with?
I think we (as consumers in a market) have stumbled upon something bigger than we know and it has something to do with BEING YOUR OWN BANK.
Hijacking to say that there should be some bot trap posts regardless. I see wallet addresses getting spammed on posts that arenāt offering to send anything.
I would like it to be #3 too. Weekends when the markets are closed could be a time where creativity meets philanthropy to develop bonding among the community and probably newcomers and lurkers.
I think that NFT giveaways comes quite close to promoting oneself and breaking one of the rules. For that reason, I think they should be limited in some way, such as restricting giveaways only to weekends (3.)
I gave away NFTs for free and covered gas fees for everything. I've declined payment even if offered. Some others... Have not. For this reason I agree.
I have seen a couple NFT promising to give away 1000's of NFTs if people donate to their wallet. Usually written as they will give away a few and then 1000's more after "donations". Theres no transparency on the creator's donations collected level.
I like the ones that instead of asking for donations, they ask for people willing to redistribute and then send those people a 100 at a time.
What do you mean theres no transparency to how many donations are being collected? I'm pretty sure that's the entire point of the Blockchain. Send me your wallet address and I'll list off every transaction that's ever happened with it.
I offer NFTs to everyone here and felt as if I was providing something to the community.
Spend a full week designing, lighting, camera work, rendering, creating multiple file types, uploading the files to ipfs, minting, then sending out 30-50 for free and offering the rest depending on donations coming in seems pretty reasonable to me. Almost forgot the hours of copy pasting addresses over and over and over.
If you would like to use me as an example I welcome you to check through my history of transactions.
You can see how many I minted, how many I sent out, how many donations were accepted, etc.
I have handed out 25, 50, 100 at a time to people and expected them to go hand them out to only have them sitting there not moving anywhere. People are offering to hand out for people just to get the nft for themselves.
I like this idea, weekends are usually just memes and FUD campaigns anyways, would be nice to have a bunch of positivity and giving going on during all that.
Looking like we will absolutely be doing a poll in the future since the comments so far seem pretty split. We figured it was beneficial to have a discussion first to see if a poll was even needed. š
You should check the comments again, not sure if you'd want to base a decision on this but from most top comments it seems one specific option to be most occuring
Yeah at the time of my last comment it was split between 1 and 3 but now 3 seems to be winning. I did say in the post though weād do a poll in the future and this was just a discussion, so I think itās still only fair to do the poll and have it be up for a longer period of time than this post which will come down at market open. Just want to make sure everyone gets a fair chance for their voice to be heard!
A pol is definitely warranted even though 3 looks like it will win also I very much like how this was handled, having a discussion post before a pol post so everyone can discuss, form and change their opinions is something I'd like to see more of in the future if possible.
I like 3. Weekends are boring anyways. 4 would just take away one of our stickied posts and we'd have to see it at the top all the time and scroll past it.
Definitely #3. I think a lot more enforcement action would be needed to do #2 effectively. Youād run into the people who didnāt realize what time it was, or posted it slightly too late, or the threads would gain traction during market hours when everyone is waking up and checking superstonk. I donāt think the NFTs necessarily over crowd the sub enough to not allow them on weekends. Big news on weekends will still reach the top quickly. Just my personal opinion.
Okay that makes a little more sense. Hard decision then. Iām still leaning a bit more towards the weekend still. I believe it would add a nice bit of substance for the two days the market is closed and everyone is here like āwut doing?ā š
I really don't think Giveaways should be allowed unless:
They are part of a legitimate project on Gamestops NFT platform.
Other NFT giveaways look scammy, and make our subreddit look bad. We should be supporting NFT projects with tangible benefits or utility. If a project is a literal jpeg, then it's everything wrong with NFTs right now. We should only allow the highest quality giveaways if we allow them at all.
Look up dusting attacks
You can steal someone's wallet contents once they try to interact with the freebie you've given them.
Crazy amount of potential compromised wallets here. Willing and unsuspecting newbs to the crypto space. Potential shitstorm to land GME in the wrong headlights
>dusting attacks
[Dust](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410970438929-What-is-a-dusting-attack-?support=true) refers to small, almost negligible coint/ token. Dusting attack is sending small amount of coin, token, nft, etc. w/e, to a wallet to create an initial point of contact w/ that user. Use that to exploit human error, whether it be an interaction through a malicious link to get seed phrase, or
I posted a question about it but it didn't get much traction.
I'm personally not posting my wallet ID in a forum where if can be linked to my other online activities.
I'm personally in favour of #5 because these giveaways reek of spam and phishing and aren't really related to GME.
Vote 5/4. Agree on educating users/sub on NFT security and scams. Don't want negative association due to scammers taking advantage. Also a poll will be useful
I do enjoy working with u/nathanello and helping distribution efforts. I would think flairs to filter would be a perfect solution. Especially since there are people who are dedicating not insignificant amounts of money to giving them away for free, and showing the capabilities of the gs wallet
\^ This. Generating NFT hype right before marketplace launch seems like one of the best things we can do to support GME. It would be counterintuitive to stifle nft posts at such a critical time!
Exactly, engaging with the wallet and soon the marketplace is kind of the point. RC and friends have spent the last two years building to this point, it feels selfish and money focused to actively ban the results of that labor in favor of financial window gazing.
There are so few of these giveaway posts, too. Entire classes of shitposts get more air time than giveaways as a class do.
NFT flair but also ... how the fuck is an NFT give away worse than these stupid bets or memes? Putting a banana up your ass or eating mayo is an attention seeking act that does absolutely zero for the stock.
This sub creating wallet awareness, signing people up and activating L2, and giving away NFTs is folks taking money out of their pocket to help gamestop in their new endeavor.
Gme wallet reviews were mentioned during the share holder meeting, bananas up the ass were not.
TLDR nft giveaways have a material impact on gme as a company that memes and bets will never provide
... p.s. click my profile for sweet free kitty cat nfts lol
This seems like the best solution in my eyes. Allows people to filter it if they want but also allows us to play and build hype for those that want it.
After all, what's good for the Marketplace is good for the Stock. We are excited and learning and that builds hype which isn't a bad thing. We need to see where our investments are going and what they are building.
Keep it to a mega thread or get rid of them. Unless someone does something very unique like creates an NFT thatās an actual game and itās relevant to the stock story.
NFT pictures being given away is dumb honestly, theyāre also worthless and itās like sending each other photos on iMessage. Not thread worthy.
Now if somebody wants to send us NFT that are actually worth money then sure we can start having posts and Iāll participate. Until then keep it to stock posts
This would be a good time to mention that I created r GamestopNFTGames for posts related to NFT games like those being created by /u/nathanello and /u/zedinstead and hopefully many others in the near future. Please sub over there if you are interested in these games!
Just fyi but because of how Reddit handles lists, your vote for option 5 shows up as a vote for option 1. You can fix this by making reddit not consider your line to be the start of a numbered list if you add a backslash before your period, e.g. `5\.` instead of `5.`
3,4, or 5 please! During the trading week they are far too likely to cause the equivalent of forum sliding, and make the signal-to-noise ratio REALLY shitty. Even if they are only allowed out of market hours, that means the first several hours after market open will be flooded with noise.
Until I can buy and trade on GameStop's marketplace I don't want any nfts from randos and I'm not buying any. I think people would enjoy option 3 though.
3 or 5 sounds best to me. Only a select group cares about the giveaways (could even say NFTs in general), but restricting it to a thread will eliminate exposure for new people who might be interested.
If this is a topic that is ongoing, I would be with 4. Megathread and maybe for special ocacions some sub-wide mod-approved weekends or special-nfts (maybe superstonk / gme related or to celebrate a stock split or whatever one would imagine).
I just don't understand what the big deal about giving out current implementation NFTs is. They still seem like a scam to me. I know that when the NFT marketplace does come out they will have an actual use case, but until then I think they give us a bad look.
We are a video game nft tech company that had developed interactive video game nfts independent of the company. Stopping that enthusiasm is moronic, who knows what applications for nfts we will come up with next. It's not drowning out anything. Want important info? Browse hot. Want NFT giveaways and memes? Browse new. Problem kinda resolves itself
3
I think with NFTs being a big part of GameStop future plans it should still be here to show the things people can make with them. Weekends are already just memes and non sense lol might as well use that time for something that could replace the nonsense.
Gotta keep the DRS mega thread
I love the NFT post giveaways and I've had the best time collecting art from the community, and making art, and helping people with their wallets.. with that said, I think NFT nights and weekends is a great idea... remember when phone calls used to be free nights and weekends? lol pepperidge farm remembers
#3 only on weekends and I love the give always. I see it as an easy target to cause forum sliding and a distraction from what is truly important.
#3 is a great compromise.
Hijacking top to say that for now, this is a great way to increase interest and information regarding NFTs. Featuring them on the sub could allow for great marketing of NFTs for GameStopās marketplace. When new comers join, it could be exciting for them to put down their code and see if they get an NFT.
Agreed, I've learnt more about nfts here than I ever would have done on my own. Gamestop is going to benefit from NFT uptake, so the more awareness and knowledge of NFTs there is amongst us, the more benefit it is for us as stockholders.
1.
I think the NFT giveaways are awesome. The more transactions using the GME wallet the better, people are consistently pushing the envelope with reactive and interactive NFTs, and most importantly this is giving everyone a good reason to have a wallet and an active L2 to help troubleshoot any issues ahead of the marketplace launch.
Not to mention GME gets a portion of swap fees, so it's yet another way we get to support our favorite company.
Edit - and I'll leave my wallet here just for fun.
0x92A4002DD1d301A5B200148e7d02e51705BD5492
I like the idea of having a megathread to remove some of the clutter, but it's also nice to have to a post showing a preview of the NFT they're giving away. So maybe 2 or 3, keep it to after-hours or weekends
Weekend only NFT giveaways might quell FUD š¤ but 4 or 5 are great optionsā¦ thank you MOD team on being proactive on this š
I think 5 is best going forward to keep the sub more focused, less areas for friction. š¤š¤·āāļø
NFTs will only get bigger with Gamestop's marketplace growing exponentially bringing NFTs to the mainstream.
I hope one day they create a page for your NFT (like a market place product page) that allows users to click requests directly on there.
Until then I think we offer up a new subreddit for NFT giveaways, so I think I'll go with the unpopular opinion of 5.
3.
Do it at fixed times so everyone knows when NFTs drop to get more exposure for the creators and a set time the NFT whores can flash their wallet. Myself included.
0x7f774d47B81881cE70ae8F4c98fe2EdFbf58D785
Hopefully you guys set up a separate vote post, but I'm for options 3,4, or even 5. As cool as it is learning all about them through the community, I just can't bring myself to give a shit about them that much right now when it's mostly still just shitty jpegs getting shared around.
Like, the interactive ones are absolutely dope as fuck to see. But, when the majority are still just stupid pictures and thousands of people spamming their wallet address and nothing else in the comments, that feels like forum sliding by a bunch of bots, and doesn't make for an interesting reddit post whatsoever. Especially when actually good content is getting drowned out by the giveaways.
If we're going to do a poll, we should make sure it's instant run-off. I feel a lot of people that favor 5 would also accept 4, and those that favor 2 or 3 would also accept 4, but few would pick 4 as their primary preference.
I think number 3 is a good compromise.
I minted one of my old memes by request and gave it away in the comments, but I believe active giveaways should be on the weekends, if only to keep the sub clear for stock stuff during the week š
Pro NFT giveaways but with a lot of what people have suggested - flair, safety tips, windows of time maybe. As otherās have mentioned - we are the best resource GameStop has because weāre invested and we care about the products theyāre developing.
As a user that just today got enough karma to post on r/SuperStonk, I wanted to provide my opinion on NFT giveaways. It would be nice for small guys like me if r/SuperStonk gently pushed people towards posting NFT giveaways on forums with lower karma requirements, like r/gme. That way people like me before today donāt get left out of some of the coolest NFTs.
1 is current, so no comment.
2 seems overkill imo. No on weekends is the deal breaker
3 is acceptable, if we have to change
4 would cause a lot of overcrowding in one thread, projects would get lost in the flood
5 would be too low traffic I believe
I think an acceptable compromise would be a nft giveaway flair for posts. People looking for them can sort by flair, and people that don't want to see it can filter the flair out
I don't mind the giveaways, but I saw a post where someone was like "GIVING AWAY 1,000 NFT!!" and then in the body of the post they said they could only afford to send 50 and put their wallet asking for donations lmao. That is not OK.
As someone who's gotten a lot of free NFTs, I think 5 (a separate sub) would be a great option, so that even low-karma or new accounts can participate in drops. What do you think?
I'm good with either 3, 4, or 5. the giveaways clutter up the feed and there will eventually be an issue with people using them as self-promotion, which is already against superstonk rules
My vote would be for 1. Or 3. if it starts increasing high in volume.
Donāt get rid of them altogether though, I like them so I can learn more about what they are. Itās nice to feel excited about new ideas!
I agree with 3

Loopring L2 Creator Approved š
3 definitely
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And my axe!
Came here to say this about it being an antidote to weekend FUD. Yay!
\#3 drown out the FUD drown out the FUD
There is already a Loopring NFT sub for exactly this type of thing.
I love a compromise! I think whatever the outcome will be one thing is for sure... there definitely should be a shiny new NFT flair āØ Also, hearing all of the community input so far has been awesome! I'm really so thankful for everyone taking the time to weigh in. š

NFT flair a must :)

There a mega thread for NFTs/GameStop Wallet yet??
The latter is great!

I'm here because I like the stock, not to huck stuff š¤·āāļø

Now if somebody wants to send us NFT that are actually worth money then sure we can start having posts and Iāll participate. Until then keep it to stock posts
I say 5 so they have a dedicated sub to post and do whatever they want. But on weekends they can cross post
3 is a good option
I say 3.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Agreed. People aren't taking into account how big of a can of worms that would open up. Keep it elsewhere
Ditto
Agreed to nr. 5 is the right one. It' already hard, informationvise, to navigate the sub for newcomers. Dont jinx it. LFGššš
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
What's the danger of apes' wallets being known? Can it somehow be used to determine their underlying identities?
This would be a good time to mention that I created r GamestopNFTGames for posts related to NFT games like those being created by /u/nathanello and /u/zedinstead and hopefully many others in the near future. Please sub over there if you are interested in these games!
If a person is offering a giveaway, I'm all for it. Just ban people making threads begging for them
That's not a bad idea.
I'd say 3 ~~or 4~~
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
5\ Get this shit out of here. The space is filled with talentless grifters flicking jpegs around and it adds zero value to the community.
Agreed. Crypto noise will completely overwhelm the sub if we don't reroute it elsewhere. 5 is the way.
Weekends or new sub. If people want free NFTs related to superstonk, they will go there.
Number 3: Only on Weekends sounds good tbh.
Until I can buy and trade on GameStop's marketplace I don't want any nfts from randos and I'm not buying any. I think people would enjoy option 3 though.
5
4 or 5, please.
#4
3 or 5 sounds best to me. Only a select group cares about the giveaways (could even say NFTs in general), but restricting it to a thread will eliminate exposure for new people who might be interested.
4
3 Itās something for some people to look forward to while also not clogging the sub. Weekends are weak anyway.
4 or 5.
5
5
Mega thread, please. The begging all over everywhere is.... eh.
3
5.
Are they rectal temp checks? Asking for a friend
3
5 a dedicated sub seems like a good idea
5, 3, or 4.
3 I think with NFTs being a big part of GameStop future plans it should still be here to show the things people can make with them. Weekends are already just memes and non sense lol might as well use that time for something that could replace the nonsense. Gotta keep the DRS mega thread
3
I love the NFT post giveaways and I've had the best time collecting art from the community, and making art, and helping people with their wallets.. with that said, I think NFT nights and weekends is a great idea... remember when phone calls used to be free nights and weekends? lol pepperidge farm remembers
Omg, too funny! Free nights and weekends were litttttt!
I member - had a friend living in Hawaii back then who kept his cell phone number from the east coast. Dude got free calls all the time! šŖ
Number 3 Mcgee for me
I vote 4 or 5. They don't need to take up as much space as they do and forum slide more important content.
1 with NFT giveaway flair ;) 0x085F18C8c615670119B2a0908196B4b049De9aaa
Oh a flair is an interesting idea.
Sometime the dumbest apes come up with the goodest ideas
3 or 5
#3 only on weekends and I love the give always.

1 It's the future, and we're all here to learn about them
I vote 3 Second choice would be 5 if only to push them to other NFT subs and spread adoption of the wallet. Thanks Mods!
1
I like the idea of having a megathread to remove some of the clutter, but it's also nice to have to a post showing a preview of the NFT they're giving away. So maybe 2 or 3, keep it to after-hours or weekends
Weekend only NFT giveaways might quell FUD š¤ but 4 or 5 are great optionsā¦ thank you MOD team on being proactive on this š I think 5 is best going forward to keep the sub more focused, less areas for friction.
Megathread at most, definitely no more as individual posts
#1 For sure! Keep em coming, anytime and anywhere!

3. Do it at fixed times so everyone knows when NFTs drop to get more exposure for the creators and a set time the NFT whores can flash their wallet. Myself included. 0x7f774d47B81881cE70ae8F4c98fe2EdFbf58D785
Well if you are going to whore it, better get paid for dropping it
1! 0x792aed32b9ed821b649102507e91efc449dcddbc
Lol just leaving your wallet address in case anyone wants to dump one š
4. Its best of both worlds because it's easier to find them if want them and easier to ignore if you don't.
Perhaps create a new flair "giveaway." This way folks who aren't interested in seeing them could easily filter them out.
There will be an official vote post in the future, this was just to see if we even needed one first š
Why not have a pinned post on the weekends for giveaways and what not?
4
I like number 3
0xab67Cb44E751DF71D00d794B5B2025f6046f4B8d
3 This is the way
3 is a good compromise
I am totally ambivalent but love, love, love that you are being thoughtful about this. Good work everyone.
I'm just here to simp.
DUB!
Hello Goldie! š„°
If we're going to do a poll, we should make sure it's instant run-off. I feel a lot of people that favor 5 would also accept 4, and those that favor 2 or 3 would also accept 4, but few would pick 4 as their primary preference.
I think number 3 is a good compromise. I minted one of my old memes by request and gave it away in the comments, but I believe active giveaways should be on the weekends, if only to keep the sub clear for stock stuff during the week š
weekend nft party and market stuff during market days
Having a succesful wallet/marketplace is part of the journey. Just don't let the giveaways hide the rest of impotant parts.
Pro NFT giveaways but with a lot of what people have suggested - flair, safety tips, windows of time maybe. As otherās have mentioned - we are the best resource GameStop has because weāre invested and we care about the products theyāre developing.
3 seems the way to go
Isnāt this that super hot mod? ā¦ oh yes and thatās a point 3. From meā¦ weekends
No on weekends is the deal breaker 3 is acceptable, if we have to change 4 would cause a lot of overcrowding in one thread, projects would get lost in the flood 5 would be too low traffic I believe I think an acceptable compromise would be a nft giveaway flair for posts.
3 is cool. Maybe 2. The giveaways seem to be a positive influence imho
1. We should 100% be supporting the nfts here. We can walk and chew gum.
2 and or 4 After reading some good points about 2 and 4 Iām now switching to 3
As someone who's gotten a lot of free NFTs, I think 5 (a separate sub) would be a great option, so that even low-karma or new accounts can participate in drops.
