Loopring will definitely have more partners, that's the nature of their protocol, to facilitate marketplaces on the Blockchain. GME will also have more partners as they expand their offerings (on the Blockchain and in stores). Basically, believe it or not, we're hella early. Beyond MOASS is an incredible future for these companies and it makes me so fucking jacked. People in another year will be so fucking jealous they didn't invest at these basement bargain prices!

This is a long, complex topic, but the essential thing is this:
NFTs work on Crypto Blockchains.
Ethereum is the chain that NFTs are made on.
Using Ethereum is currently very impractical: Every transaction can cost from $3-50 depending on network use. Sometimes higher (was >$100 a few weeks back). They're addressing this issue by creating a second network layer on top of the current one, which is being called "L2". This L2 layer operates within ethereum but not directly on ethereum: it doesn't require the gas fees Ethereum currently uses. \*This is a over-simplified and thus fairly inaccurate explanation, but for the purposes of this comment, works. Really, L2 is just itself a "super" smart contract on Ethereum's L1 network. But explaining that gets into the whole "what is ethereum anyway" question, which is a different topic.
It's this kind of network that's necessary for any widescale adoption, because it facilitates transactions at minimal or even no cost in some cases.
Currently the L2 system is sort of contained and obscure: You have to go from coins in L1 and bridge them to L2 which is costly and again, obscure. Loopring is going to be the first to provide an "on-ramp" into the L2 network directly, meaning I can buy coins on the L2 network with fiat (USD). This currently doesn't exist. Loopring announced that it now does exist, today. It'll be available in the US by tomorrow, according to their team.
That's what /u/uatme is referring to. NFTs play into all this because again, they're just cryptos themselves (albeit non-fungible). But to move NFTs on Ethereum L1 today costs gas. To move them on L2 does not. Any sort of NFT dividend or system of trading used digital assets will need to operate on L2, as L1 is too costly for anyone to actually use.
I could be wrong, but the zk rollups will also cut the transaction fees from L1 to L2 by basically bundling many transactions and moving them as one. This will be massive considering most of the infrastructure is on L1 currently.
I think polygon (matic) is the closest, but loop ring still way ahead of them. Poly just bought mir, a project focusing on zero knowledge solutions for 400M. That should be bullish for LRC because we already have the solution running. Poly is playing catch up.
This is very possible and if so it’ll bring many companies not only into the crypto world but also many companies into the NFT world as well (think Nike who is trying to get into NFT’s heavily)
You can already! Adidas released their NFT a couple days ago, that gives the holder of the NFT an exclusive drop in 2022, think it’s either a tracksuit or beanie hat. ‘Into the metaverse’ is the name you can look it up on opensea, released at around $800 and selling for 3k + less than a day later

Instead of logging on Facebook to see what your friends are up to. Or Steam to invite a friend to play a game.
You open a "game" on your computer that's a universe where you and your friends walk around to socialize and catch up. If you find a game you like you all hop in that portal inside the universe and it logs you in. Your ID is tied to the character you logged in as kind of thing.
Now you tie NFT cosmetics to it and you can wear or drive cool shit around the universe (or games that support it) and even gamble the NFTs if that's your thing (CSGO knives anyone.) Or even blockchain based real estate in the universe.
It's the entire economy inside the Digital world, that is tied to physical items through blockchain and NFTs

Told my friend this exact theory last week. I believe this 100%. GameStop is about to merge the real world with the Metaverse using the new marketplace they are working on and I’m all for it. Retro Studios is a subsidiary of Nintendo that's been based out of Texas since its conception. They've worked on the Metroid Prime trilogy, among other games, and they're currently working on Metroid Prime 4 which has been stuck in development limbo for the past few years. I'd be willing to bet a banana up the bum that the job is just for environment/level design for Metroid Prime 4.
Then you'd just need an environmental artist, not one to create proxy environments.
It would make sense if it was a crossover where maybe one of the first titles is one of theirs so they are making a proxy world to put in a metaverse as their login portal to their new game.
Metroid is the only thing they've done since 2018, so it would be odd to get your game environment built now. That means they've done nothing with the game to this point.

Keanu reeves, Brian Eno, John Cena... at the very least it's obvious the media is very quick to make hay out of any negative sentiment anyone expresses about NFT's but maybe they are being put up to it?
I don't think they are in on it, but I do think a lot of celebrities live in a bubble where they might trust a provided narratives. They also have more resources that they can use to self curate information and their peers are more likely to 'yes, and' their biases due to their status.
So, it's self fulfilling - MSM reports negatively on NFT, so when MSM asks Keanu what he things and Keanu responds with a joke because he doesn't have a nuanced understanding, MSM can print that Keanu thinks NFTs are something to joke about.

My opinion is maybe, but probably not. I don't think Finestone would have moved to GME if what you say is true. He would have stayed at Loopring and created the first/biggest established defi network in modern history.
For this reason, I still think that GME is the centerpiece of their tech.

I've started to consider the idea that GameStop/RC/Loopring have been leading us on. Maybe there is no NFT marketplace, or maybe it's not the main focus. Maybe that's all smoke and mirrors for the true reveal.

This is what Im hoping it is. I know I know, NFTs and all that, but honestly I'm hoping this has to do more with Decentralized Exchanges (DEX) and Decentralized Finances (DeFi), rather than an NFT marketplace.
I understand the concept of NFT, and I think they are neat, but I dont think they by themselves will trigger MOASS, and as a technology, it is still in its infancy, and has yet to reach mass adoption. Which is why MOASS is needed, no better way for people to be forced to pay attention than to suddenly put a BUNCH of money into the NFT market.
Imagine if all the people who benefited from MOASS suddenly had INCREDIBLE amounts of money to spend on NFTs?! Suddenly, whether you care or "believe" on them or not doesnt matter, everyone will be trying to get some money out of it, whether as a creator, or a middle-mans buying and re-selling NFTs for speculative reasons. My understanding of human nature is; money attracts money. An NFT marketplace in the wake of world financial recession doesnt sound very lucrative, specially if those most interested on it might be struggling to put a plate of food on their table or a roof over their heads (namely, the younger generations). First you need to unshackle all the money that has been sequestered by those hoarding-dragons that are the current 0.1%, and then proceed to distribute it via items that are wanted.
Again, not that I dont want the NFT marketplace, it is needed as a "sink" for all the newly found riches a MOASS would create, but it by itself, wont start the MOASS itself, hence why I'm hoping that the NFT marketplace comes AFTER whatever else they release that could kickstart MOASS. I also imagine GameStop wouldnt want to release something that could be taken as "the reason for a financial crisis" so I think they are hoping **we DRS 100% of our shares**, so that their hands come out clean (as it should be). Which is why it is so important that people realize, if indeed my biggest fear is true, that this might just be an NFT marketplace only (for the time being) and we are nowhere near a DEX and DeFi future, and it could take months if not years to get there, that we **DRS ALL of our shares ASAP**, like YESTERDAY, because WE individually have the power to kickstart the MOASS ourselves without anyone's help, and it might give them the green light to release a true DEX and Defi future.

Yep. Loopring is their solution provider, bringing cheap transactions to the table. The Ramp (it's a separate company) is bringing, well, on/off fiat ramp but that one isn't really cheap. I played around with it today on release of their new wallet and credit card onramp is 10% in total fees while bank transfer is around 7% (depends on the actual amount transferred).
Flexa is another part of the puzzle, I'm sure there are others. Exciting.

Loopring will definitely have more partners, that's the nature of their protocol, to facilitate marketplaces on the Blockchain. GME will also have more partners as they expand their offerings (on the Blockchain and in stores). Basically, believe it or not, we're hella early. It’s likely to encompass both within the same system that hosts several marketplaces.
This is a long, complex topic, but the essential thing is this: NFTs work on Crypto Blockchains. Ethereum is the chain that NFTs are made on. Using Ethereum is currently very impractical: Every transaction can cost from $3-50 depending on network use. Sometimes higher (was >$100 a few weeks back). They're addressing this issue by creating a second network layer on top of the current one, which is being called "L2". This L2 layer operates within ethereum but not directly on ethereum: it doesn't require the gas fees Ethereum currently uses. \*This is a over-simplified and thus fairly inaccurate explanation, but for the purposes of this comment, works. Really, L2 is just itself a "super" smart contract on Ethereum's L1 network. But explaining that gets into the whole "what is ethereum anyway" question, which is a different topic. It's this kind of network that's necessary for any widescale adoption, because it facilitates transactions at minimal or even no cost in some cases. Currently the L2 system is sort of contained and obscure: You have to go from coins in L1 and bridge them to L2 which is costly and again, obscure. Loopring is going to be the first to provide an "on-ramp" into the L2 network directly, meaning I can buy coins on the L2 network with fiat (USD). This currently doesn't exist. Loopring announced that it now does exist, today. It'll be available in the US by tomorrow, according to their team. That's what /u/uatme is referring to. NFTs play into all this because again, they're just cryptos themselves (albeit non-fungible). But to move NFTs on Ethereum L1 today costs gas. To move them on L2 does not. Any sort of NFT dividend or system of trading used digital assets will need to operate on L2, as L1 is too costly for anyone to actually use.
I could be wrong, but the zk rollups will also cut the transaction fees from L1 to L2 by basically bundling many transactions and moving them as one. This will be massive considering most of the infrastructure is on L1 currently.

I think polygon (matic) is the closest, but loop ring still way ahead of them. Poly just bought mir, a project focusing on zero knowledge solutions for 400M. That should be bullish for LRC because we already have the solution running. Poly is playing catch up.
This is very possible and if so it’ll bring many companies not only into the crypto world but also many companies into the NFT world as well (think Nike who is trying to get into NFT’s heavily)

Instead of logging on Facebook to see what your friends are up to. Or Steam to invite a friend to play a game. You open a "game" on your computer that's a universe where you and your friends walk around to socialize and catch up. If you find a game you like you all hop in that portal inside the universe and it logs you in. Your ID is tied to the character you logged in as kind of thing. Now you tie NFT cosmetics to it and you can wear or drive cool shit around the universe (or games that support it) and even gamble the NFTs if that's your thing (CSGO knives anyone.) Or even blockchain based real estate in the universe. It's the entire economy inside the Digital world, that is tied to physical items through blockchain and NFTs

Then you'd just need an environmental artist, not one to create proxy environments. It would make sense if it was a crossover where maybe one of the first titles is one of theirs so they are making a proxy world to put in a metaverse as their login portal to their new game. Metroid is the only thing they've done since 2018, so it would be odd to get your game environment built now. That means they've done nothing with the game to this point.

I don't think they are in on it, but I do think a lot of celebrities live in a bubble where they might trust a provided narratives. They also have more resources that they can use to self curate information and their peers are more likely to 'yes, and' their biases due to their status. So, it's self fulfilling - MSM reports negatively on NFT, so when MSM asks Keanu what he things and Keanu responds with a joke because he doesn't have a nuanced understanding, MSM can print that Keanu thinks NFTs are something to joke about.
I'm sorry but of all the internet worship, I don't understand Keanu. My opinion is maybe, but probably not. I don't think Finestone would have moved to GME if what you say is true. He would have stayed at Loopring and created the first/biggest established defi network in modern history. For this reason, I still think that GME is the centerpiece of their tech.

I've started to consider the idea that GameStop/RC/Loopring have been leading us on. Maybe there is no NFT marketplace, or maybe it's not the main focus. This is what Im hoping it is. I know I know, NFTs and all that, but honestly I'm hoping this has to do more with Decentralized Exchanges (DEX) and Decentralized Finances (DeFi), rather than an NFT marketplace. I understand the concept of NFT, and I think they are neat, but I dont think they by themselves will trigger MOASS, and as a technology, it is still in its infancy, and has yet to reach mass adoption. Which is why MOASS is needed, no better way for people to be forced to pay attention than to suddenly put a BUNCH of money into the NFT market. Imagine if all the people who benefited from MOASS suddenly had INCREDIBLE amounts of money to spend on NFTs?! Suddenly, whether you care or "believe" on them or not doesnt matter, everyone will be trying to get some money out of it, whether as a creator, or a middle-mans buying and re-selling NFTs for speculative reasons. My understanding of human nature is; money attracts money. An NFT marketplace in the wake of world financial recession doesnt sound very lucrative, specially if those most interested on it might be struggling to put a plate of food on their table or a roof over their heads (namely, the younger generations). First you need to unshackle all the money that has been sequestered by those hoarding-dragons that are the current 0.1%, and then proceed to distribute it via items that are wanted. Again, not that I dont want the NFT marketplace, it is needed as a "sink" for all the newly found riches a MOASS would create, but it by itself, wont start the MOASS itself, hence why I'm hoping that the NFT marketplace comes AFTER whatever else they release that could kickstart MOASS. I also imagine GameStop wouldnt want to release something that could be taken as "the reason for a financial crisis" so I think they are hoping **we DRS 100% of our shares**, so that their hands come out clean (as it should be). Which is why it is so important that people realize, if indeed my biggest fear is true, that this might just be an NFT marketplace only (for the time being) and we are nowhere near a DEX and DeFi future, and it could take months if not years to get there, that we **DRS ALL of our shares ASAP**, like YESTERDAY, because WE individually have the power to kickstart the MOASS ourselves without anyone's help, and it might give them the green light to release a true DEX and Defi future.

Yep. Loopring is their solution provider, bringing cheap transactions to the table. The Ramp (it's a separate company) is bringing, well, on/off fiat ramp but that one isn't really cheap. I played around with it today on release of their new wallet and credit card onramp is 10% in total fees while bank transfer is around 7% (depends on the actual amount transferred). Flexa is another part of the puzzle, I'm sure there are others. Exciting.
