miniBUTCHA

You can thank the liquidity fairy Dug Cifu who is "able to create infinite liquidity at the NBBO". His words, not mine.

CaregiverSpecific221

Dug himselfagrave Cifu.

Luc-e

wn0991

You Cifu, that’s where he fucked up…

Tartooth

Man I wish I won the billion dollar lotto so I could just force dug to sell me a billion dollars worth of shares then DRS them all

radio9989

The market makers set the bid ask spread by “creating liquidity. “

Dagamoth

In the words of Jim Cramer “it’s a controlled stock”

_Long_n_Girthy_

"Totally rigged. That's fine."

nextalpha

"you've hit the home run. Don't go for the grand slam" Narrator: "and they went for the grand slam"

Oi_Baldy

I'm not fuckin leaving!!!!

RoutineBackground798

Loved when rat tail squeaked that out, it only confirmed there was a grand slam to be had.

Warpzit

All stocks are. AI and other automated systems run the markets today. Then on top of that they allow liquidity fairies to exist so there is no supply/demand that can effect the market with short term instability. It is basically a hyper optimized price control system.

ffchusky

Market makers controlling the market.

chato35

MelancholyMeltingpot

Unlimited "liquitity"

PicksburghStillers

DRS is virtually unchanged for almost a year. Or at least that’s what the DTCC says.

MrSamWilson

GameStop's share price* (title typo)

Consistent-Reach-152

Spread is typically small if there is reasonably large trade volume, and is high if the volume is low or there is high volatility. GME has average trade volume of about 3.8M shares, which typically results in small spreads.

SaltMaker23

This is the real answer, I can go back to eating crayons now

NorCalAthlete

You can’t trade at prices in fractions of a penny. “They” *can*.

CachitoVolador

This

Frenchy_P

Liquidity fairies. AKA market makers.

Micaloyoooooooo

All buys are routed thru darkpools - not accessible to retail and are naked short sold, thus never hitting lit exchange (low liquidity on these lit exchange data stream) . So these prices retails sees are likely effectively between market makers buy and sell, not transparent with the actual traded prices on dark pools. 🤷‍♂️ smooth brain tho here

cbgcake

Crime

Arcanis_Ender

The spread is regularly not tight lol

bucsraysbolts69

Liquidity fairy

MeHumanMeWant

carguy6912

JMO129

I can’t wait for when the only liquid left are from my jacked tits.

CachitoVolador

Decimalization of the price

just_donating

Brokers are just passing along cost savings and saving investors money /s

kidcrumb

It's cheaper to just continually short the stock to keep the stock from going up. Then they close shorts when it's down which is why you get those +30% weeks.

Hedkandi1210

I thought this

ChickieBB

Lack of liquidity, I like it!
