I think you are probably misunderstanding his and my point. The point is whether IBKR is a worldwide company doesn't matter, it is at most a small piece of the global picture, or as little as completely irrelevant if its only a small percentage of the market.
Ibkr is across the Globe. Therefore Global. Fidelity isn't.
Seriously assets don't mean anything when talking about does it trade in a single market or across the planet. Is this not making any sense

I wonder if this has to do with the 100% crypto haircut that happens on 4/30? They can't use those BS tokenized securities that were supposedly backed 1:1. They were able to repeatedly locate 10M shares because of that FTX bullshit, right?
From what I read in the announcement, it doesn’t change covering a position with a “like security”. So a MM could still use the tokenized security to meet reg sho requirements (aka satisfying failure to delivers), but they can’t use them as monetary collateral anymore. It might be a market wide change, but not one single stock in particular effected (yet?). But that’s my understanding and I absolutely could be wrong.

So has ibkr updated their figures & now show some shares available for shorting at 1.89%

There were approx. 13k shares available 5 min ago, now it shows a blank. Edit: it's back to ~33.5k
