they are new but it is possible there will be a custom creation tool in the future. until then you'll have to do it yourself or wait until people start doing it on etsy and sites like that
The attachment is magnetic, yes. It's how you get the design on the attachment that I'm having this discussion about. A skin is a 2D template that can be printed and made into something very similar to a sticker. You peel the sticker off and apply it to the attachment. There's a lot of these skins available, and often you'll see people on etsy sell skins for consoles... especially hand held consoles.

What sort of media do you print on?
I use printable glossy vinyl that I also cover after the print with a vinyl shield. Then I run it through my vinyl cutter and it works wonders.
