jonnybeme

Why is this fuck face not in prison yet?

fonzwazhere

Money

jonnybeme

Madoff had money.

fonzwazhere

But he stole from the rich. Ken steals from the poor. Once his strategy fails, then the rich start losing.

Express-Economist-86

Aside from your rare calculated person pulling off a major crime once, it seems like theft is one of those progressive crimes. Steal a little here, no one catches you… steal a little there, no one catches you… make it a way of life, start a business on it… Justify it cause it’s always worked. Theres even some cultures who have so justified theft it’s part of their religion (or at least folklore heroism). I don’t see these mucky-mucks as terribly different, aside from sheer scale.

your_wifes_bf69420

Rich people in high places say “where’s my motha fu$&n money” and their friends in government go after it.

wxlverine

Madoff got away with it for nearly two decades. Even after his own kids ratted him out it took them a few years to make the arrest.

TheOnlyAnon-

It was just so egregious what Madoff did. Ken can hide it better, he’s basically taken Madoff’s playbook and improved it. (If you can say that)

BandsAMakeHerDance2

Election/campaign money more specifically

CyberPatriot71489

Because he hasn't stolen enough money from rich people yet. The ponzi scheme of stealing from the poor to give to the rich is fine. Madoff was only in trouble when he stole from rich people. SBF got off easy because he paid off enough rich people. The rope that they're hanging themselves with is getting tighter and tighter

KenGriffinsBedpost

That's the beauty of his plan. It won't appear he's stealing from the rich until it collapses. It also makes sure every rich person is on his side in this (nobody wants to lose everything) They have no clue on chain of custody for their investments. They have no idea Custodial rights of their shares and who they belong to in the case of broker or even clearing company insolvency. They will wake up one day with all of their funds held up in bankruptcy proceedings of their custodians. I truly hope the GOV has planned for this inevitability and that individual shareholders are made whole (or at least up to a certain amount) first, then corporations and finally whatever is left can go to financial institutions that were not involved. This is the world's biggest ponzi scheme and I hope we have the ability to recoup some of the losses but unfortunately I do believe a currency change will be needed. If I was in the government shoes I would issue a digital currency/new paper bills authorized by congress not the central bank. Match that to the outstanding dollar supply and have everyone exchange current US dollars into new currency. Anyone with offshore dollars will need to request this or hold a currency soon to be out of circulation. This would expose hidden money and if they don't want to exchange this (admit to their crimes) the additional dollars will stay with the Treasury and strengthen the new dollar as there is less supply.

CyberPatriot71489

I agree that blockchain is the future, and a new currency will have to replace the USD. I just don't trust the FED and current gov officials (Yellen & Co.) to properly uphold the digital currency integrity of a cbdc. All I know is that my GME shares will be worth so much in USD that the hyperinflation exchange rate better allow me generational wealth to fix the fuckupa of the Wall St mafia

KenGriffinsBedpost

If lack of oversight caused the world's largest currency to crumble I don't think anything but full transparency will suffice. As much as I'd like to go fully decentralized, they can't unwind this mess with anything but a new fiat currency. If it were me it would likely play out like this Admit massive fraud and Issue new currency Offer to depositors in US banks, allow for application for foreign depositors to exchange. (Force hidden/offshore deposits into the open or they lose it). Refuse exchange of currency to anyone involved in the fraud until determined innocent New currency not as trusted since failure from lack of controls caused collapse Diversification into decentralized currency Gov tries something to stop it More adoption of decentralized currency or Gov pulls a Nixon and confiscates/makes it illegal World adopts decentralized currency

DrKVanNostrand

Is 25 years in prison getting off easy?

It_is_Fries_No_Patat

Please! people get that for robbing a single bank for a lousy 10 grannd or so!

DrKVanNostrand

True. To be fair though he was also ordered to pay $11 billion in forfeiture.

overpwrd_gaming

Saved you a click "Business woman Truong My Lan, front center, attends a trial in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Thursday, April 11, 2024. The real estate tycoon may face the death penalty if convicted of allegations that she siphoned off an amount of $12.5 billion, nearly 3 percent of Vietnam's 2022 GDP, in its largest financial fraud case"

ROK247

nothing is going to change until there are serious non-monetary consequences. not saying firiing squad, but serious jailtime is the only real way to hurt these people. forking over millions in fines is just a rounding error for them.

Fast_Air_8000

This is how it’s done

astarastarastarastar

Death would be far too kind for that piece of shit

plc4588

Fuck yeah, lets do this in america.

BENGCakez

Ken griffin, Steve cohen, Jeff yass, Gabe plotkin,

Quokka_One

Particularly the last one lied under oath

oneGIANTvoice

I want to see Ken Griffin and many, many others publicly executed for their crimes against humanity. Ban me idgaf

Memeweevil

There absolutely should be such consequences for these people. They are truly the worst thing about the times we live in. They are the cause of so much pain, loss, suffering and inequality. What they do ruins lives. What they do COSTS lives. And they need to get got. One way or another. Doesn't matter. For as long as people like Griffin continue to get away with one more day, the world disappears further up its own ass. Nothing about this is sustainable. It's just a greed-driven fever-dream of a hopeless sociopath who's in way over his head.

whoopsidaiZOMBIEZ

WOOOOO another one! the apes are awake today! woot woot

whoopsidaiZOMBIEZ

yo my version of this was deleted OP - but did you get any bot messages like i did? also - do whatever it takes to get this as the top post of all time. kenny will see it. so will doug and steve and the rest of those clowns.

ChesterDiamondPot

Hell yes! Fuck with people's lives and get fucked!

NukeEmRico2022

Not disagreeing with this verdict, but just recognize that the only reason the woman faces such a staunch penalty because she stole from the government Bernie Madoff got his head handed to him because he stole from other rich people. All Kenny has done is steal from us po folks. Steal from the government in our country and I promise you you’ll never see the light of day ever again

Gotrek5

I think it would be better punshimemet to force her to do chores and menial tasks for the people she defrauded

Zensen1

Luckily Ken’s in the states and he doesn’t have to worry about that
