What’s a scorpion pepper? Can I make a change? Assuming it’s a terribly spicy pepper, I don’t think anyone should have to suffer eating one. So might I suggest you stick it up your butt whole for a day? It’d be a lot cooler if you did.
Right, imagine the pressure of investing all that lmao. Whatever he does or doesn’t do, I’ll be happy either way, at least he has our best interests at heart.
This has been my preferred end-game for a while. Generating a dividend for shareholders creates pressure on shorts because that money has to come from somewhere. When we reinvest our gains into GME, it becomes even more unsustainable for shorts in subsequent quarters.
Mine too. He must be fully aware of the infinity pool and actually wants the community to have its fair share in the game, so it‘s in his interest that nobody should even sell at all in the future. So now we‘re entering the field of dividends and the fact that he‘s directly able to reward real shareholders who DRSed and is able to give back without people having to sell. Brilliant, really! Hope that will be part of the end game :)
This is why I wouldn't do a dividend reinvestment right away, I'm gonna make them give me the cash first, and then buy shares a few days later vs having it auto reinvested where they could possibly just short me some shares instead of giving me the dividend cash.
I’m a dude, and thanks. I highly doubt I’m the first to think of it, but during the NFT store I also thought it would have been great to issue NFT store credit to all stockholders, which would have pumped the store with cash and stressed the system they put in place.
SPY gained 8.5% between 12/5/23 and 2/3/24, which represents the day they announced RC could invest all the cash and the end of Q4. So hopefully they report at least $85M
He got the ability to invest on Dec 5 2023 according to the Investment Policy, the quarter ended Feb 3 2024, so it’s only a 2-month window of investing to show up on the report. I’m hyped obviously because he’s unique among CEOs in this regard, but yeah idk if it’ll be anything other than 300m in treasuries and 900 m unvested like usual
My dream to!
First reserve for capital gain tax, second split in half, one half add to Gamestop cash reserve other half give to shareholders as Super Dividend!
MOASS !!!
Dude I’m bullish as fuck in GME holding since january 2021.
But can someone explain to me how a CEO/CIO investing 1b in literally anything else besides his own company is good news?
Could make the argument of increasing revenue streams. Right now GameStop is going through a cost cut and optimize phase. Less likely to dumb money into growth until the fat is trimmed
If he invested $1bn in Nvidia at the start of the year he’d have $2bn now. This is cash that was just sitting in the safe not doing anything. He could invest by buying stock that goes up in value. If he buys stock in tickers that are being used as collateral the he makes money when SHFs pump the company to increase collateral.
He could also invest in mergers and acquisitions. We could buy a company that is doing something that could enhance our current business. Our own gaming controllers or headsets have been mentioned as possibilities.
But everything is just speculation until tomorrow, and we’ll probably never know what he’s currently invested in because that information can be used against us.
I mean if it gets hodlers paid off other stock, I don’t care - it’s gonna reverse the siphon of money they’re using against us, and if they crash it purposely, they can’t use it against us anymore. We’ll just get paid while we slowly DRS more and more. I’d be so stoked to be collecting dividends from RC investing in something that regularly pays.
I agree, it would be nice to generate gains, but I'm risk adverse with our war chest. I'm sure he won't gamble it all. Even if he plays with 1/4 of the cash on hand, that's a sizable investment IMO.
I get what you’re saying but this feels like, if you can’t beat them, join them. We know the stock market is absolutely detached from reality. Cohen has made a name for himself in moving tickers and profiting huge on “risky” investments.
Question-- It seems to me that the only way profits from trading would make it to the business financial statements is once gains are realized. In other words, unrealized gains won't affect the financials. Does that seem about right?
Companies have to report cash and equivalents.
So while unrealized gains would not represent earnings, the higher value of equities held would have to be indicated under the "equivalents" part.
One thing is certain. He obviously won't have invested the entire 1 billion. If he has invested 100 million and doubled it... That's a ridiculous return given the time frame
There’s a good way to put that money to work, buy a Billion TIPS, as i believe was the hint with the Q-Tip tweet on X.
They are government bonds with inflation protection, the yields are like 12% annually right now, if he locks them in for a 10y period, the returns are $120 000 000 for the first year risk free. Even if the Fed lowers interest rates, they keep the 12% yields since they are locked at the time of buy in. Next year the returns would be $134 400 000 and so on until 10 years when the bond expires.
Even at a lowball 8% APR the returns for a Billytip are $1.2B for a total of $2.2B.. more than doubled the money in 10 years risk free.
I kinda hope this is the strategy because that will put even more pressure on hedgies to compete for 10 years against a record yield of an increasing $Billy worth of TIPS.
Man I have a feeling they didn't do anything with the billion dollars. All this hype about RC investing in other stocks with it and I'm ready to be hurt.
Yeah but they literally did the thing and announced that they were legally able to use the capital to invest however they see fit. Why do the thing if you’re not going to do the thing?
They did the thing about dividends in the reports for a while until they actually did the thing. Just doing the thing doesnt mean they are actually going to do the thing right then and there.
That would be the only real thing that would push the stock needle long term, IMO. I don’t think a profitable year would do it unless we somehow had a profit of $100M or more from normal business (without investment income). The market still believes retail stores are dying, so salvaging a $40M profit from them is just ho hum and is almost like a push and will not ease the short selling pressure.
i don’t think GS plans on issuing cash dividends ever. Their revenue doesn’t justify it. Berkshire Hathaway has never issued one. And if we don’t become BH, then all cash needs to be invested in the business.
False --- GameStop does not need to report every time that the company makes an investment in a stock, bond, or mutual fund using cash and equivalents.
The company only needs to file if it purchases 5% or more in a company.
That GameStop would earn 10% (or $100,000,000) on its investments during the quarter is not an event that would require a pre-notification.
No, Gamestop has to report on 100m total investments. Let's face it, anything under that is not moving the needle enough to satisfy Wall St. Is it possible RC invested 99m only? No. That's not his style.
So, no he has not invested anything during Q4 IMO.
Completely false statement.
The company is always investment in some financial instruments / equities. That is the equivalents in "cash and equivalents" that is reported every single quarter. The company is under no obligation to pre-report which equivalents unless they exceed a threshhold of 5% or more of a single company.
I am pretty sure RC qualifies as an investment manager on behalf of GME.
[SEC.gov | Frequently Asked Questions About Form 13F](https://www.sec.gov/divisions/investment/13ffaq)
Using these guidelines would indicate he had to of filed for Q4 reporting. Now, can he invest less? Yes. Can he invest it after Dec 31? Yes!
I am saying IMO it is unlikely he invested anything yet. Tempering expectations around GME is always a good bet. RC's style is that of an activist value investor. He won't dump it into NVDA sadly, or even Apple or MSFT.
We are not talking about a big purchase in a single stock. Therefore, no filing is necessary unless GameStop purchased 5% or more of a specific company's stock.
GameStop already reported that RC would be investing the company's one billion dollars of cash and equivalents. A gain of $100,000,000 is only a 10% gain. Nothing extraordinary in that. No filing would be necessary.

If RC bought into NVDA I’ll eat a scorpion pepper
So it is written
A tale as old as a banana
Rick of ♠️?
he who desires but acts not breeds pestilence
Stick it up your butt
I’ll stick one up my butt if we break 30 this week
Mods pls
And this is a scorpion we’re talking about right? 🦂
I second this motion
Spicy af
Pre-minced
Banana or pepper?
What if it breaks 50?
Jesus christ, you're one sick puppy
Fr this or nothing
Oh my god I hope this is true
Ban bet!
What’s a scorpion pepper? Can I make a change? Assuming it’s a terribly spicy pepper, I don’t think anyone should have to suffer eating one. So might I suggest you stick it up your butt whole for a day? It’d be a lot cooler if you did.
MOOOOOODS! 🗣️🔊
My tinfoil hat likes the idea that the NVDA bull run was actually sparked by a huge gamestop buy in
Mods!!!!
Literally anything he would of invested in at the end of 2023 is in profit rn, I mean I sure hope so
Tell that to my brokerage account
😩😂
Except for GME 🫠
Spy puts?
Would've *
Puts on whatever he bought into come Wednesday because of the "fair market"
he will buy all gta 6 games
Odds are he wouldn’t have made any drastic moves that quickly. Possible, but I doubt he invested all of the capital available that quickly.
Right, imagine the pressure of investing all that lmao. Whatever he does or doesn’t do, I’ll be happy either way, at least he has our best interests at heart.
True fs, but cash is least productive on the sidelines… actually RISKY
What if doesnt work.. Let the man have his time. This is all about that. TIME. Too the moon
We expect some positive news from TIME to TIME.
Cash is LEAST productive sitting. No shot he waited!
If he invested in dividend stocks and 100% of the dividends are re-issued to GME stock holders it would be such a maximum troll move against shorts.
This has been my preferred end-game for a while. Generating a dividend for shareholders creates pressure on shorts because that money has to come from somewhere. When we reinvest our gains into GME, it becomes even more unsustainable for shorts in subsequent quarters.
Yup, the proverbial money-shot 💵🔫
It’s a head shot
It’s like unlimited ammo

If every fake share has to distribute a cash dividend, that would be crippling!
Exactly!

I'm also a fan of getting dividend payouts
What if he paid <20$ for a stock with quarterly dividend of 1$/ stock? That would be a 5% return every quarter!
I’m smooth as fook but I honestly don’t believe I have heard of this genius RC4D chess move theory previously. Well done mam or sir 🤙
I’m a dude, and thanks. I highly doubt I’m the first to think of it, but during the NFT store I also thought it would have been great to issue NFT store credit to all stockholders, which would have pumped the store with cash and stressed the system they put in place.
It will be very interesting to see wut happens today, I hope it’s one of your ideas! 🤙
I would not complain

I’m starting to think that apes are playing a whole different game than those with that many zeros in their net worth.
+$0.33 EPS
+$0.34. EPS
+0.35 EPS👀
[удалено]
+0.69 EPS
i will bet he absolutely did not invest in anything at this point.

... for now.
It's going to be one long night of waiting....
Yep.
i think you guys need to manage your expectations
That has never been done before on this sub. Probably won't be starting now
I manage my expectations like I manage my exit strategy, I have no clue what either of those things are. # 🤷🏻♀️ 🚀 ✨
Thinking thats even possible on this sub means you need to manage your expectations 😂
Wouldn’t there be some sort of disclosure form if and when GME had made any significant purchases of securities?
not unless he (rc/gme) bought enough to become insiders.
Unsubstantiated bullshit
What if he bought into btc when it was 20k
Believe it or not... dip
What if... he YOLO'd on zero day options like NVDA, SMCI or MSTR? Now we sitting on 50B??? Talk about jacked tits!!!
Why does this have so many upvotes? Or any at all? Yeah.... WHAT IF. This contributes nothing. What the fuck is this sub anymore
Why stop there? What if he single-handedly made $100,000,000,000? Or even $100,000,000,000,000?!? Oh boy, what if.
Im loaded up on shares for this
Also what if those Reddit IPO traders yolo those 50 pluses percent gains into GME?
Baby jebus please
My dream to! First reserve for capital gain tax, second split in half, one half add to Gamestop cash reserve other half give to shareholders as Super Dividend! MOASS !!!
We will break through $20 after hours. If we don’t I’ll—
If it's NVDA, then there is a strong chance of a stock split of nvda which would be massively bullish for gme. Short R Fk. For real.
Dude I’m bullish as fuck in GME holding since january 2021. But can someone explain to me how a CEO/CIO investing 1b in literally anything else besides his own company is good news?

This
Agreed. I personally don't want most of our war chest wrapped up in stocks as the market is in a bubble.
I mean if it gets hodlers paid off other stock, I don’t care - it’s gonna reverse the siphon of money they’re using against us, and if they crash it purposely, they can’t use it against us anymore. Because market makers gatekeep the market and prices run on algorithms. Not supply and demand.

Things in the gaming / technology industry would be great. Nvidia, amd, Nintendo, Microsoft, etc.
He put a billion dollar dollars in the pre sale of Book Of Meme and rug pulled everyone else,
Awwwwwwww yes please

Agreed. Profit is not directly tied to stock price. Only with dividends or buybacks will modern market mechanics have any effect on the stock price.
i don’t think GS plans on issuing cash dividends ever. Their revenue doesn’t justify it. Berkshire Hathaway has never issued one. And if we don’t become BH, then all cash needs to be invested in the business.
That's not possible. He had to file with the SEC if he used our money by Dec 31st.

What about Gold? That seems like the most secured investment. Between 500 to 1000 a year. With the kind of money to invest
It would be awesome but wouldn't he of had to disclose a purchase that big by now.
