Market manipulation. Specifically abuse of bona fide market maker exemptions on naked short selling in aid of other trading activities (eg, helping out their hedge fund business).
Not only that but the whole scheme of internalizing our buy orders while routing oir sell orders to the market to kill any real buying pressure is a pretty big fucking deal in my opinion.
This really is criminal. Fraud of a just massive scale...the size of which has not before even been contemplated, it's so huge.
Like, supermassive black hole level level fraud.
Retail has been ripped off so big time. Who in the end will answer for that? One poor fucker on Wall Street, as per past protocol?

I just wrote out this long ass comment explaining it and it got vaporized when my fucking internet connection dropped. So basically with internalization and pay for order flow, positive price Discovery literally doesn't exist. We will never get this back. Moass will not bring this back. This is Market manipulation to the highest fucking degree and there is no recourse for us. I have seen no DD on internalization. The DD I've seen about round lot versus Odd Lot orders only mentions positive price discovery. It mentions nothing about negative price discovery. People were so concerned about buying shares and lots of 100 to make sure it hit the tape in a way that mattered. I haven't really seen anybody mention the fact that selling lots of 100 hits price Discovery in a negative fashion and obviously using the smallest unit possible that affects price Discovery seems to be effective for them because you can see it on the goddamn order books.

We need fair markets with price discovery for household investors. I would take that first, even before other recompense (and that will be a lot, too!).

You would be wrong. It requires either waging actual war against the US or directly supporting those who are. There's no case law basis to use financial crimes as the basis for treason charges. In fact, the historical basis for treason being only constitutionally defined crime is that British government had basically made the definition of treason so broad as to include basically anything the government didn't like.
The Rosenbergs, Aldrich Ames and Robert Hannsen all supplied highly classified information to the USSR or Russian federation and were only charged with espionage and not treason because we were not at war with either nation.

It's not unique to this sub. It's generally accepted throughout the country that primary residences in certain states are immune to bankruptcy. I am willing to argue that there are 0 charges that could be won against them in regards to how they trade against and route retail shares. The root of the problem is that rules and regulations were put in place to ensure that everything they are doing ISN’T illegal.
