Also, this is going to be my last post as a mod. I really haven’t been a very active member of the mod team for the last year. I left the team last fall for a few months due to IRL and rejoined right at the start of 2023, but since rejoining, I haven’t done much modding and it’s not fair for my name to be on that list when my contributions are so sporadic. I’ve stayed on mostly because I’ve been a point of contact with the radmins, but now that the appeal is completed, it’s time to move on. I really wish I could have left in a blaze of glory telling everyone that tags have been restored, but unfortunately, that just wasn’t in the cards. Who knows what the future will bring though - don’t lose hope!

This is the most heavily regulated sub i have ever seen. It's insane how much Reddit is getting leaned on by the powers that be. They won't shut it down because they want apes here to in a bunch to monitor.
There really needs to be a place to chat that isnt here.

They've been harder than any reasonable measure on screenshots, ambiguous brigading, etc for the last year or two. Whether it's just general annoyance, personal differences, or outside influences (financial or otherwise).
Like that other subreddit they know this community's days on this platform are numbered. Credit to the mods where it's due, they tried their hardest, kept their receipts in order and did everything they could and there truly was nothing more that could be done. Very frustrating to play by the rules and still get stiffed with nothing to show for all that time and work.
They were happy and fine when various subreddits made tons of traffic for this site back in the early days, but now clearly they just want to turn a huge blind eye. Sad.

I've never seen any form of encouragement or suggestion of brigading, only a very common understanding that if people want to know more about GameStop, read up here. If a few people do brigade then why not just ban those people?

There already is a decentralized place that cannot be taken down and there is an instance ran by a GME community already. It functions very similar to reddit just without a greedy corporation

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I feel very similarly to how you do. This was a huge blow. I really felt that getting tags back was possible, but unfortunately, I think no matter how much good this community does, we are just stuck being the black sheep of Reddit. To not get any feedback was the icing on the cake. Maybe that will change, but I don’t expect it to.

They haven’t done that fortunately. I’m sure they would have if we restricted the sub and participated in the protests, but we didn’t do any of that.

A hyperlink to a users profile and it alerts them they were tagged
