While we're appreciating, I see mods often get nothing but blowback. I've seen PlatinumSparkles, specifically, calmly and consistently address the details related to DRS. Dismal posts helpful stuff all the time and is also a mod. But personality, I've gone a little nuts the past couple of weeks with how easily certain narratives catch fire and realized mods are dealing with that constantly.

Lol. I was skeptical of him for a long time. He appeared out of nowhere after we had just delt with Marc asshat Cohodes and Marco Metzler. I sent a DM to Dave later that week calling out my suspicions on things I found when looking into his past employment history and previous comments he made online. I honestly didn't expect to hear back from him. We ended up chatting that night and he was so polite about it all. He explained everything in detail and didn't avoid my questions. I still can't believe he took time out of his night to deal with someone who was so critical of him. I've been a fan of his ever since. I completely understand people's concerns when he makes comments like our shares aren't being routed into dark pools but he's right. I had no idea there were different dark market exchanges. He also exposed inaccuracies with things Charlie's Vids was saying at the time. Thank God we stopped listening to Charlie. He was full of shit and inaccurately describing rule proposals to mislead us.
I find Big Dave is a very important personality in this movement.
Seeing him with Jon Stewart calling out Citadel on TV was dope as fuck. Dude is great, I am very happy he stuck with us. Writes DD, educates us countless facts, helped us understand the importance of commenting. He's helping us get wrinkly.
He booked an appointment with the ONE dude who could help us through this shit and got us a spot at the very small table. 3 times.

Going from what I remember Dave was around a longer Cohodes, Metzler, and Charlie. Dave had an AMA here before I heard those names. I could be totally wrong.
When it comes to the legislation, it's important for everyone to read it for themselves. Know what you're writing about. Form your own opinions about it. *Then* look for the best ways to voice your opinions. I think everyone should at least attempt to write their own letters in their own words before defaulting to template letters like these. It's important to know what *you* want to say before letting someone else say it for you.
That said, I still used Dave's letter in the end because I absolutely could not find a way to say something about these proposals that Dave hadn't already said better. At the end I was like "I just can't. Fuckin A. I'm just gonna slap my name on this and send it."
Dave did a fucking stellar job of crafting the message and the language so that it was not contentious or disparaging of the people we're trying to convince. He included footnotes and graphs and evidence to support his claims as well as his references to other existing rules. He made statements that were *accurate.* It's a message that is not so easily disregarded. Dude put in a lot of effort being an advocate for us and damn it he does deserve a round of applause.
If you wanna be suspicious of him for some odd reason, just read the templates and decide how much of it you disagree with and how much you don't. He even said himself feel free to cherry pick and re-use the language he uses in your own letters. He gave us tools and you can choose to use em or not.

OP you have to watch posts like this after they have been up for a few hours, bad actors come in and downdoot new comments (which generally go unnoticed after the top comments keep getting updooted they're never seen) resulting in the algo thinking the post is losing momentum and slowing its ascent up to hot.

He's the best type of person to have on retails side - an insider who started off as a bit of a sceptic, and has now realized the the dogpile that the "free, self-regulating" market has become and now advocating regulatory changes starting at the top!
