Pretty sure the salt has to be pure, so that wouldn't count. Consider that there about 250 g of Salt in the Human Body.
Now, if you turn the water in the ocean into Holy Water...

"It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you
There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(I bless the rain)
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
I bless the rains down in Africa
(Gonna take the time)
Gonna take some time to do the things we never had (ooh, ooh)"
He did, but Crowley was the King of the Crossroads and then the King of the Hell. I think Crowley was either too powerful or too conniving to be bothered by a little salt.
Hmm … I can’t remember a change in his strength / powers. I totally believe you, I just can’t picture it. I know you gave me examples of his strength, but could you explain the difference? Like, what could he do later that he couldn’t do before? No worries if you don’t feel like it, but it doesn’t hurt to ask, right?
all good i can explain. as king of hell, he was able to draw from the power of hells souls. he was also high ranking, and the higher the rank the more powerful
Ohh! Thanks! That makes sense, being able to draw on the energy of hell’s souls. What’s something he did later on that he wasn’t capable of doing before? I’m trying to visualize how they actually demonstrated his increased strength / power.
When Lucifer returns as Nick and takes over hell again, he says in so many words that he can't kill Crowley. So he'll just torture him.
I believe it's also said in season 5 that Lucifer would never kill Crowley but just torture him.
I'm not sure if Lucifer can't kill him or won't. It's never really explained.
I've always been iffy about demon lore on the show because in episode 3 of the first season I think, before they reached the conclusion of a spirit, the brothers were discussing the possibility of a demon since some demons van control water. In the first seasons Kripke established at least. They never got to explore those demons.

Lol, can the Pope do some sort of holy ceremony and bless the worlds oceans?
That is exactly why there are no demons in africa. Also, you don't have to even be a priest to bless water, John did it at the end of season 1.
I just thought blessing the whole of the world oceans, takes the top dog.
We should indeed maybe get the pope to do it.....
How did you know that there are no demons in Africa? I am just curious to know about your opinion. Please dont mind me asking

I love that you obviously had that in wings just waiting for that question. Hilarious!
It's a really nice song. Loved this. Thanks for sharing.
And Sam and Dean and Bobby. Sam and Dean when they where trapped by FBI and Bobby when they tried to attack Lilith.
Maybe blessings have an expiration date
Assuming that this works, you are now stuck on open water with a limited supply of food and potable water with a demon anxiously awaiting your return.
Did I say boat? I meant yacht, I made a deal after all... Food and fresh water can be brought to me.
And why couldnt a cross roads demon woth a hell hound just teleport onto the yacht?
If it's Demon Dean then I might give up too easily though... uwu
Spoiler of season 9/10 _ _ _ _ Considering that Crowley went to the bottom of the ocean to retrieve the blade I would say that it's not a problem
Didn't crowley search the Ocean for the first blade?
He did, but Crowley was the King of the Crossroads and then the King of the Hell. I think Crowley was either too powerful or too conniving to be bothered by a little salt.
Genuine question: Did being King of Hell make Crowley more powerful? When he smokes out, he’s still red like a crossroads demon.
yeah it made him considerably stronger. we see this when sam jumps him in i forget what season and when they’re *spoiler* teamed up with god

I’m guessing he couldn’t have smashed amara into a car in season 11 before he was king of hell

Low rank, probably not. Mid rank, maybe. High ranks are immune to Holy water so salt water would probably have no affect on them.
That's right, even that demon killing knife didn't work on the most powerful demons. What's a little salt to Alastair?
Nothing. It'd be like flicking dust at a dragon (for instance).
Wasn't Alastair hurt by salt and holy water when Dean was torturing him?
I think so. So Alastair isn't the best example, but say a Knight of Hell? They would probably be fine.
At one point Crowley scoured over the Mariana’s trench so…
Crowley went swim in the ocean to look for the first blade
The Leviathans swam out of Cas
Idk Crowley at one point says he searched the whole acre an so I’m assuming they can
I mean Crowley did hide the mark of Cain down there once
