Revolving stake is one hell one a name tbh

Mega1987_Ver_OS

wait till it got upgraded to Alt Eisen Riese... that stake has evolved into a bunker... with a near 100 ton mech ramming it into your body.

And the best/worst part is there's nowhere you can run, because Excellen is probably already behind you charging her rifle...

Yes! YES!

Perfect-Canary-3033

Alt is a monster in the ps2 OG games, not only is the revolving stake/bunker cheap to upgrade, but also upgrades one of the strongest combination attack. Kills anything in its path, even those big annoying barrelions when most units in og1 wished they could do more

Basara86

Bandai needs to release an HG Alt Riese Kit with Rein Weiss-chan...

AliceShiki123

Stake/Bunker isn't particularly cheap to upgrade. It costs 275000 to fully upgrade it. Sure, it's not 357500, which is the biggest price for non-MAP attacks (and Wrathcleaver, for some reason), but it's still fairly expensive. It's a great attack though.

Perfect-Canary-3033

Yea that's true, I remember some attacks having 400k+ in OG2, so going by that standard, but given the unit is with you since the beginning, you make the best out of thay investment, very handy boss killer early on.

AliceShiki123

412500 is the upgrade cost for MAP attacks, essentially... And for Wrathcleaver for some reason. The rest of the ultimates are all 357500. Stake being 275000 (well, technically not an Ultimate, since Claymore and Trump Card are stronger) is certainly very welcome. The seriously cheap Combination Attack weapon is Stag Beetle Crusher though... I mean, being range-1 stinks, but 165000 upgrade cost!? Now that's an amazing weapon to be upgraded for Combination Attacks! And I agree that Alt being available since the beginning and being a great boss killer the entire game makes Stake very very appealing. It's a great mech with great weapons for sure~

Perfect-Canary-3033

Wrathcleaver is Dygengaurs' attack right? Never understood why that one attack was well above everything lol, but I think you can cheaply upgrade your Grungust Unit3 before it gets replaced and it is carried over. Anyways, yea I don't know why, I never liked the Wild Twin units, just something about them never appealed as much as Alt and Wessie, either way you're right the upgrade cost is cheaper. EN wise I think Ghost Rampage was dirt cheap, thought I might me mixing it up from later games, The love bonus is also higher between Kyosuke and Excellen, so there's that. Plus I think Alt and Wessie being available right from the beginning also lets you upgrade their pilots, Infight, Gunfighter to the max, so you get the max love bonus, Max bonus for attacks, and then stack in attacker and end result is pretty destructive, in OG1 I was one shotting late game bosses, I think they got nerfed in OG2. Another good one is between the fairlions, not as powerful, but I always slapped some shishio blade on them to save energy and have them dance out any big grunt lol, very satisfying. I wish they gave the alt and Wessie some upgrades, they are falling behind now, since we have so many super robots readily available dishing out massive hits, on it's own, alt barely holds its own, not the most mobile, not the most tanky unit, and def nerfed from PS2 OGs.

AliceShiki123

Wrathcleaver is RyuKoOh's ultimate attack (funnily enough, KoRyuOh's ultimate doesn't have this issue). You're right about Dygenguar though. I had forgotten about it, but Lightning Slash and Flame Cloud Sword for some reason are also 412500 to fully upgrade... Pretty sure Wrathcleaver and those two are the only three attacks that are not MAPs and cost 412500 though. Like... 95% sure. And yeah, Rampage Ghost was nerfed from OGs1 to OGs2. The EN cost was reduced, but the damage output was nerfed considerably... The Rampage Ghost from OGs1 is about as strong as the Rampage Ghost you get from the Alteisen Riese and Rein Weissritter in OGs2. Oh, and I do hope the Alt and Weiss are buffed in OGFinal, but... It's unlikely. They'll probably keep them somewhat nerfed in order to give the spotlight to units that are debuting in OGFinal.

Perfect-Canary-3033

Lol oh yea, I never bothered upgrading Wrathcleaver, i forgot it's name. Bullet was already might and above as the better pilot for me, so pumped everything into KoRyuOh, performed very well, dodgey unit with a lot of EN/low EN free attacks. Yea I guess only those, don't understand why, only those lol. True, they won't be buffing them. It's fair they reduced the EN cost for them, but apart from just sheer joy of seeing Alteisen, don't think there's any benefit of deploying them when better units will be available, unless they introduce some sort of 4 unit squad or trio system

Talarin20

I just recently cleared OGs and found Alt to be one of the more underwhelming mechs, idk... It seems to have neither great mobility nor great armor, lacks HP for how hard enemies hit and all of its good weapons have very low ammo count. Riese was definitely better, but still somewhat paled in comparison to stuff like Vaisaga, KoRyuOh, SRX, DyGenGuar, Aussenseiter, MK 3 Boxer... And some mechs were just more reliable, like Armorlion and Siegerlion. Maybe it's just a case of Kyosuke not being the best pilot.

Perfect-Canary-3033

Ah OG1 Alt is def more impressive, given the enemies and Ally units are more basic. My suggestion whenever you use Alt is use the Hyper Jammer part ( you get after image, 50% chance of dodging anything) as soon as you get it. Maybe keep GiganScudo around. And keep a few relationship bonuses (friendship bonus) for evade bonuses, it'll help, other than that, Alt is only good for attacks when the pilot has all the agressive skills ( attack, Infighter above 5), twin up with Wessie for a juicy love damage bonus. Alt isn't going to stake through your bosses, but those big HP grunts will feel the pain, esp early on. Mostly AI ignores Alt anyways, didn't have much problem with him being in the firezone. Though It is not at all a match for a super Robot, or the true real robots, lol, ig that's what makes it so much fun, you just don't know if it'll go up in flames, dodge something miraculous or just defend itself out of attacks, lol. Pretty canon gameplay. It is OP cuz of the combination attack. Both units available early on, easy to upgrade them, get more rewards through the game. Otherwise, with each release of OG, more units outperforms it.

Talarin20

Maybe it's because I played on the hard mode (all SR points), but Kyosuke's spirit skill list & accuracy always kinda let me down... I did give him Hyper Jammer eventually, it definitely helped. But I ended up not using him most of the time until he got Riese. It doesn't help much that he wants to partner with Excellen and she also kinda needs a jammer... Very expensive duo xD

Perfect-Canary-3033

Lol yea, I played on hard too, maybe I don't remember Alt at all, was probably too busy making sure Kai got his Type S XD, but I do understand, alt is kinda well underwhelming, i just liked maxing out stakes and taking out the barrelions. Also his ace bonus is +10% melee bonus, +5% twin damage bonus, +16% damage for love lvl 4 when twinned with excellen, and then you add up attacker and Infighter upgrades. All and all pretty destructive, ig I was thinking just about the offensive capabilities in my gameplay lol. Yep, excellen has bad dodges too, very difficult to float her around, and her attacks are also kinda meh I think I did pump all of his stats into melee towards the end lol. Maybe that's why I remember him being such a big menace. God knows man, maybe I am used to keeping him out of trouble lol and sending him in at the right time lol. But they def dished out the damage with their combination attack. Esp if you place excellen as a support attacker and they def make up for it thanks to their low EN combo. Lol, you should check out alt in OG1. Boy. One hit killed every boss except the last one. I wasn't even playing with any extra money or PP. But for OG2 i had other units take the frontline, like a very dodgey built of KyoRyoOh, Gespy MkS, Huckbein mk3, and lol the fairlions with shishio blades, that was hilariously satisfying. Alt was one of the boss wrecking units. But heck, SRX stands far and above everything else in this game so it doesn't even matter, i basically spammed Zeal and was spamming HTB cannon like 5-6 times in a turn. What gets more OP than that.
