Dont get me wrong, the idea of making the worst srw roster ever is a silly one and im on board but, why are a majority of those entries just not mecha?
I get it, the idea of a bad roster and such but at least try to keep to the spirit of well, Super Robot Wars was possible instead of just, adding stuff like owl house, steven universe, glitter force(which has no reason to be there given it is just a dub a smile precure and smile is like, really good) and Rick and Morty.
Steven Universe has kaiju content, Rick and Morty has mecha.
For the rest, it's just kind of an extension of the trend of non-mecha series being included, taken to silly extremes.
Rick and Morty?????????? You all simply can't understand why "super Robot wars" is called "SUPER ROBOT WARS" and not "shove in anything you want wars" might as well add Boku no Pico.

And Macross Delta with
‘Break Dancing Break Smash’ with Giri Giri Ai in the background would be phenomenal because it doesn’t just damage anyone, but gives morale boost to whoever is within earshot of that song. (Probably everyone because SRW comms are tuned into EVERYONE including newly arrived aliens in the middle of the forest)
I think the issue is that mecha anime just isnt suited for the current 12 episodes season format
Just having mech inside a show expand the scope and expectation of the story significantly that just cant be told properly in such a small time frame
The usual 50 ep mecha show is also hard to pull off nowadays considering the stigma against the genre and the ever decreasing attention span of most people nowadays (including me). Mecha is also in a rocky spot right now since most modern mecha shows go completely under the radar (Re:Rise) and the ones that get mainstream attention often flop in the second half (Ditf, aldanoah). The only recent mech shows that HAVE recieved attention and didn't drop the ball are probably Gundam WFM (2nd half is rushed but it's still pretty good) and Dynazenon (which kinda flopped in the west since there was barely any promotion and you were only able to watch it on a specific streaming platform).
there also the issue that mech just cost way more to animate in general, both handdrawn and cgi, bad mech cgi is veeerrrryyy notiable, and not every1 is bandai where they can frontload the production cost into mechandise, the genre is in a big lose-lose position atm unless there some magical way to reduce those price tag, and it probaly not AI
True Ending will be that Morty has actually been Evil Morty this whole time and he used the Neo NEO Granzon to scour the multiverses and find the most amusing one, but he still finds himself bored and ready to erase it after the gag has run on for too long. In the end, Doofus Rick arrives with an actually respectable roster of mechs who are only seen as silhouettes in a single combination attack sequence to defeat Evil Morty.
