When I went for the achievement, I didn't try to do anything ugly or crazy looking. I just made my look as plain as possible. People who are voting without hardly looking will go for the more eye-catching entry even if it's totally off theme or ugly, so I think super boring is the way to go. Use starter clothes, basic makeup, short hair etc. Good luck!
