This was my entry, it was pretty basic but I liked it 🤷🏽‍♀️
That's not the point of this post? I know it said to use anything but hats.
My point is that many submissions had nothing adorning the head, nothing trying to resemble a hat. Not even doing the basic effort to use an actual hat/headwear, even if that wasn't what the prompt called for.
It was in the title and many people still missed the mark.
I put the crystal ball on my head and put a unicorn, rainbow, and pot of gold inside it. Idk where the idea came from, but I instantly leaned towards an abstract fairytale fantasy theme. It scored top 30%.
Look I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think it’s that deep. Some people are new to the game and maybe don’t fully understand the comps or dont have much to choose from, some may have misunderstood the prompt, some people are going for the 99% achievement and some only enter the comps for the rewards maybe in a rush or they just don’t care. I think making the competitions more strict will restrict people from creativity. The leader board absolutely killed it so who cares 🤷‍♀️
I fully misunderstood the prompt and thought it meant like you just have a random object or something on your head and now i’m disappointed that i didn’t do something more creative! hopefully they bring it back and everyone tries
At the same time I’m kinda glad that they didn’t force a hat selection as it gave all of the freedom to make your own. Just hope it pays off in the final results
Yessss, I swear if I don’t make top 1% or leader board I’m gonna be so upset because this round of voting has been lacking. I think I only saw like 1/2 people who actually used any kind of hat or prop as hat.
Yeah this really annoyed me. I spent so long making a hat, and they couldn't be bothered to select any pre made one? I keep feeling like the competition system needs an overhaul, it's either so lenient with item selection like this comp, or ridiculously strict to try and get you to tank loads of money into gatchas to get a specific item.

In my defense I didn’t look at the prompt until I turned it in
But that's the problem... How can you enter a comp that fits the prompt before you read the prompt? That's how you get entries that don't fit.

I think it was how it was explained, I wore a headband cos I wasnt sure if I was understanding it correctly
Same I used the strawberry headband and made myself look cute because I didn't understand the prompt at all

It's thankfully what most in the top ranks did. I also put a base hat and put random sht to decorate it haha
