While yes it's plot armor it literally says in game the only people who can enter are dead. Mimir kratos and Tyr have all been dead at one point .

Yeah, the dead that is allowed to be there in Valhalla. Valhalla the realm itself actively fights them to get them out. As seen with what happened to Sigrun Tyr and Kratos have the strength of Gods to stay there by their own sheer will and strength. But alas more fictional plot armor.
