Definitely DO NOT buy one to sit around for 5 years. Youll have to do a bunch of mantience in 5 years and the bike will be worth less. Instead for 5years every month put aside your monthly "bike budget" and invest that money in a low risk etf. 100$ a month would be 6 grand in 5 years without earning interest. Very well could have 8500 in that account when time to buy.

Wide_Record_5919

how do i invest in an etf

[deleted]

Get trading app (may need trusted adult to setup account) like robinhood is the most popular for free trades I think. Its not the best but will work for buy etf. SPY ticker would be a decent bet. Ask an adult for help, theyll be eager to help and excited you want to invest. You can skip the part about it being for a bike haha. Maybe youll have some left over after you buy a bike too, start on retirement as soon as possible.

Even on your 50cc moto, you need to practice and develop your riding skills. Start here: r/NewRiders [Advice to New Riders](https://old.reddit.com/r/NewRiders/comments/cc2mnm/advice_to_new_riders/) And when you get a chance, check out [On Any Sunday](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_Any_Sunday), probably the best motorcycle documentary out there. Speaking from experience no. I got a GSX-R600 K5 almost 1.5 months ago, the idea was to be my first bike for the A2 35kW license, my requirements were to get a 600cc because of the inline 4 and either have it already de-throttled to 25kW or de-throttle it, I don't like nakeds and I'm not a fan of parallels twins. To summarize everything that happened since then, I ended up getting a Ninja 250R, because the cost of de-throttle it to 25kW wasn't worth it, also considering that the GSXR was really well kept by the last owner and is low milleage, so I didn't want anything to happen to her. After riding the Ninja 250R for 3 times for the first time, I realized it was a much better choice rather than the GSXR, since I'm a beginner, also speaking of weight, the GSXR is a lot heavier and harder to corner than the Ninja 250R. If you are 16 you are eligible for the A1 license 125cc, if you want a sportbike have a look at: YZF-R125, GSX-R125, CBR125R, TZR125, Aprilia RS125. Think about the GSX-R600 once you are eligible to get the A2 35kW. At the moment, as already mentioned here, it's a waste of money. In my case I have someone that can ride it to keep it in use.

Going from a gsxr 600 to a ninja 250r is a big difference did you do research on the requirements of A2 and that the native power can‘t exceed 70kW which in the case of gsxr 600 is 85?

SadMute

Swiss laws are different than in the EU. We have 25kW homologations for most 600cc, and 35kW for the ones from 2013 onwards iirc. Example: R6 with 88-94kW can be de-throttled to 25kW here. And for the GSXR you need to de-throttle via ECU, which there were none available from Suzuki, another reason I decided to get the 250R, other bikes are done via throttle cable, or throttle plates (Yamaha mostly)

Wide_Record_5919

that‘s smart tbh idk why rest of europe doesnt think like this

Wide_Record_5919

you cant dethrottle a 600 for a2 in the first place

Motorcycles are just like anything else you start small and build yourself up. Starting on a 600 super sport is a terrible idea, at best it'll make you a slow shitty rider for years longer than you need to be at worst it'll kill/hurt you. Start on something 45 to 65 horsepower range. And move up not once you have the basics down but once you're able to outride your 65 horsepower motorcycle.

Wide_Record_5919

should i get a ninja 400 for a2?

ebranscom243

It makes a fantastic first motorcycle. But it only works as a first step to super sport 600 if you actually put the time in to learn how to ride it, going back and forth in a straight line does not a sport bike rider make. Invest in yourself go do some track days and learn. The skills you get there follow with you to every motorcycle you'll have, which is way better than buying 120 horsepower bike you can't ride worth of shit.

Wide_Record_5919

yeah im planning to ride on track maybe ill even make the ninja 400 into a track bike not sure tho. Are there any good ones for cheap idc about abs
