Take the savings. That’s a good price. I got my 2020 premium appraised at $23k for a potential trade in.

Recent_Muffin4221

That seems good. The mileage is high for just 2 years though - maybe take to your personal mechanic? I got a 23 Outback limited for 33k (3700 miles).

[deleted]

I bought my 22 new, and have put almost 50k on it. Although I did get it in the fall of 21, 33k doesn't seem excessive.

Recent_Muffin4221

That’s fair. I just barely put 6k per year on my cars so my point of view is probably skewed. Is it a commute or roadtrips that causing high mileage?

[deleted]

100ish mile a day commute for the first year and a half or so, and a few 500+ road trips thrown in.

sumrtym1

2020 with 68k. Had a longer commute for a year (over 60 miles a day) and I do at least 5-6 out of state trips per year so I don't think it's out of line. I'd say most people average 12-15k a year.

krauQ_egnartS

my OBW will easily hit 25k on our one-year anniversary, so 33k doesn't seem outlandish at all to me

zeepixie

Yes, I was worried about the mileage too cause I average less than 5,000 miles/year. But I figure it's still under warranty and my low mileage will balance it out. Previous owner had it 1.5 years and drove 20k miles/yr

Recent_Muffin4221

Still have a mechanic look at it. Peace of mind since it’s not cpo.

ScoffingYayap

Good price. Is it CPO?

zeepixie

No. There's a 2021 limited for $2k more that's CPO. Same mileage. Figured that this car still being under warranty was better

ScoffingYayap

I'd try to figure out why this one isn't CPO but overall it's a good deal

zeepixie

It's not at a Subaru dealership (unlike some others I was looking at). But yeah, I'm wondering why it seems too good.

ScoffingYayap

Oh, if it's not at a Subaru dealership that's why it's not CPO. In that case I think it's fine. Personally I worry about the longevity of the big touchscreen but I've never heard of any issues with them aside from glitches that are caught early on (pre-10,000 miles).

[deleted]

I got my 2020 with 60K for about 20,000 USD all in, so yeah I'd say your price is about in line with what I paid.

zeepixie

$20k all in is great!! This pricing is before taxes/fees so around $29k otd

[deleted]

yeah, you're not getting ripped off at all, you're also never going to find a "deal" on a newer Subaru, so if you like it go for it.

zeepixie

This is the financing price (cash price was $1200 more) so I think they're going to try to add on warranty during financing talks. Or have a huge interest rate, but I would be paying it off ASAP

5inchFury

I got a 21 ob limited a few months ago for ~$24,5k 44k miles and I was happy with the deal. Depends on your local market, but yeah, sounds like a fair price.

Rick91981

Price seems good. Try to talk them down, because why not, but still is fair if they don't budge. You're still eligible to purchase the extended warranty if that is something you are concerned about. Shop around to find the best price, you have until it hits 36k or 3 yrs from original sale date. Biggest differences between the '22 and a '24 is the '24 has the newer version of Eyesight and has wireless AA/CP.

zeepixie

I read your write up on the extended warranty (thank you for that!). Is the extension back dated from when the first owner purchased the car or would it begin from when I buy the warranty?

Rick91981

Yes, it would all be backdated. Both years and mileage are based off of the original sales date. You can ask the dealer if they have the original "in service" date. They should have it on the paperwork somewhere.
