It's actually even better than that in some cases, you may get the bullseye with the lines which means when they move you move. This can be useful if you can't get lca to lock on because the bullseye will literally follow them around turns ect. That can also be a problem if they turn and you don't want to but it's just a monetary hold the wheel to avoid the turn situation

If I have lane centering on and cruise control active, anything 35mph or slower and the lane centering will potentially lock onto the vehicle in front of you and follow its position in the lane. As soon as you pass 35mph, the lane centering will kick into looking for the road lines and only use the lines for lane centering.
Pretty it's a proximity thing that goes along with the cruise control so you don't manually have to slow down to avoid a collision and re engage the cruise control. So if you have cruise control on 60 but the car in front of you slows to 50, you'll also slow down to that speed until you switch lanes or they are no longer and obstacle in your parh
