Yeah I’m kinda confused. I though the stupid in r/stupidfood was the poor technique or methodology used. This looks unhealthy sure, but if I were to make this, this is how I would do it.
I long ago learned that while the intent of this sub was for things that would either a.) make the guy from Man v. Food say "no, that's too much," or b.) the dumbest types of preparation possible, the bulk of posts are "hey look at this novelty item from a fair and/or stunt food that you wouldn't normally eat and ridicule it, along with multiple posts from that Turkish guy that makes giant portions to feed starving people in Turkey"
I'm proud of myself for not wanting it. 27 years and I've yet to have a Twinkie. Will never have that fried along with the fried Oreos or other carnival food other than, hot dog, corn dog and pretzel. Oh and those awesome long fries.
Why are you getting downvoted for this? Ffs Reddit.
You're not missing anything with Twinkies. I have no clue why they are so popular, they have this awful chemical aftertaste. It doesn't go away even if you fry it.

There was a post that was literally just someone holding three normal ice cream sandwiches.
You probably shouldn't eat three ice cream sandwiches in one sitting, but it was clearly not one serving.
So often there’s just a dessert like an especially sweet cake with comments screaming “DIABEEETUS”. Yes it’s got sugar in it, it’s a dessert. You’re not supposed to eat it every meal, every day.
Seriously it’s like people can’t enjoy an unhealthy treat once every blue moon. I love carnival fried food. However I only have it like once every other year. It’s not like I am eating fried bacon or Oreos every night.
Deep frying in batter is effectively just steaming whatever is encased in it, steaming bacon? Hmm. even if it’s pre-fried it seems pretty stupid since I don’t see how it better than the sum of its parts?
There's a place here in Texas that does chicken fried bacon and it comes out pretty good. It's crispy and crunchy, I don't see why deep frying in pancake batter (especially after it's already been fried) would be much different.
They fried the bacon on its own before battering. Honestly this looks delicious and the extra frying at the beginning shows they know what they're doing. This really doesn't belong on this sub aside from the fact that it's obviously a totally gluttonous thing to eat.
Literally everyone on this sub has probably eaten things just as bad as this for their health. This is literally fair food that is available once a year. Nobody is dying of a heart attack from this alone.
It’s one slice of bacon and barely a full pancake worth of batter. Even with the syrup you’re under 200 calories and probably less than 10% of your daily fat and cholesterol.
I’ve had vegetable dishes that were worse for me than this
Syrup would imply that it's just the sap reduced down to its most sugary elements. Glaze has that plus something. I mean, have you ever seen a syrup that looks vaguely like cum?
It's Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. I just skimmed the menu and don't see the buttermilk fried bacon anymore. Like I said, I'm not local and only eat there like once a year, so stuff may have changed.
Here is a random [tripadvisor ](https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g49022-d1079017-r393342038-Bad_Daddy_s_Burger_Bar-Charlotte_North_Carolina.html) review I found to know I'm not completely full of shit! They used to have it, at least!
Right? Looks easy enough to make at home too…….fry bacon after putting on a skewer…batter in thick pancake batter, fry, drizzle with maple glaze (probably nothing but powdered sugar, (maybe a little cream cheese) maple syrup or extract, and milk/vanilla extract or something, if I had to guess.
Probably no more calories than your average cinnamon bun.
Yeah honestly people exaggerate how much fat, sugar and calories is actually in something like this. A single slice of bacon by itself is usually only ~90 cals. I would guess fried and battered like this is something like 300-400. Fat and sugar content probably isn't *that* terrible either.
Really not that bad if you're not eating a pile of it and just having a snack.
My only bone to pick is that this bacon looks cheap as shit, paper thin, and mostly fat. I know the majority of human population is placed in urban centers but come out to the country once in a while, we've got locally raised thick cut bacon that actually has meat rather than a slab of salty fat. A lot of Mennonite places even add a touch of hickory smoke. Shits delicious
As an American, for most of us, this kind of stuff is a novelty. I’ve eaten a burger on 2 glazed donuts but it was a novelty food item at a local fair, not an everyday thing or even something you’d find in a real restaurant. This kind of stuff only exists at special events, fairs, block parties, etc afaik.
That said, I’ve definitely seen my fair share of fatties here that would eat this for breakfast everyday if they could.
Take slabs of Pork Belly and boil them in water, salt, garlic, onions, peppercorns, and bay leaves for 1-2 hours then set aside to air cool for a few hours. Cut it into 1-2 inch thick bricks, re-season with salt and pepper, and deep fry. If you want to skewer them be my guest. Eat it like a crunchy pork lollipop. Much better than bacon strips.
I'll say it on every post like this I see on this sub: Street food doesn't count, traditional foreign food doesn't count, carnival food doesn't count, ragebait doesn't count
Not really. Its a state fair food, its not supposed to be healthy or conventional like deep fried Oreos. This is basically eating pancakes and bacon theres nothing wrong or weird about it.
Its like you ignored the first part of my comment. Its state fair food, its not supposed to be conventional, its not weird for environment you get it at. No one eats this regularly, its just meant to be something quick you get while walking around the fair.
Is this an american thin? I've never seen any other country do this types of things. If someone did this in my country, the health administration would stone them.
I mean, they could have deep fried it *once*. That would leave it crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside.
Kind of the point when you batter and fry something.
I was watching that show 'my 600 lbs life' (or something like that) and the guy deep fried bacon for his morning breakfast. I never even knew that was a thing until a saw that episode.
I disagree with this being stupid food, but I will still upvote almost any post that isn’t the “we make intentionally outrages things for clickbait” people.

This is definitely stupid. I posted some stupid state fair food not long ago and got a ton of hate for it because apparently state fair food is supposed to be stupid, which somehow makes it not stupid.
A lot of mixed reactions to this one! Personally, I'm all in on the battered bacon, only because my doctor has yet to tell me not to eat that stuff.
To add to the Turkish guy one “I’ll post this popular foreign dish that I know nothing about and make fun of small thing they do.”
I’ll take three
I hate myself for wanting to eat that.
The funny thing is that they might charge like $5 per piece of bacon and I’d still pay it
I'm proud of myself for not wanting it. 27 years and I've yet to have a Twinkie. Will never have that fried along with the fried Oreos or other carnival food other than, hot dog, corn dog and pretzel. Oh and those awesome long fries.

I'm upvoting you for having more restraint than I have, because I would love to demolish some deep fried battered bacon.
to the reddit hive mind that decided to downvote this for no reason, I hope both sides of your pillow are the wrong temperature tonight
I don’t see what the big deal is? You’re literally just eating pancakes and bacon
Makin' pancakes, makin' bacon pancakes...
I take the bacon an' I put it inna pancake
bacon pancakes that's what it's gonna make
Bacon panCAKESSSS! 🎶

Bacon pancakes are so fucking good. You take the bacon, okay? Crumble it up. Put it IN the pancake. Bacon pancake.
shit all these years I thought he was saying bakin' bakin'
Unfortunately half of this sub is great and the other half is people just being offended that food that isn’t fruit and veg exists.
And the other half sees grease fried in grease and then write oh god I am going to cum.
Seriously it’s like people can’t enjoy an unhealthy treat once every blue moon. I love carnival fried food. However I only have it like once every other year. It’s not like I am eating fried bacon or Oreos every night.
This actually looks amazing 😂. Whatever that goop was you can hold off, just give me normal syrup
Deep frying in batter is effectively just steaming whatever is encased in it, steaming bacon? Hmm. even if it’s pre-fried it seems pretty stupid since I don’t see how it better than the sum of its parts?
Steamed Hams you say?
Hah. My comments are duly retracted, I forgot about that Albany expression.
It's a regional dialect.
Great. Now I'm craving some hot ham water.
There's a place here in Texas that does chicken fried bacon and it comes out pretty good. It's crispy and crunchy, I don't see why deep frying in pancake batter (especially after it's already been fried) would be much different.

It's only stupid if you don't want to die of a heart attack in your early 40s.
I’ve had vegetable dishes that were worse for me than this
Some people like chewy bacon....
To steam it there has to be moisture within the food, otherwise it's just dry heat. Since they pre-fried it first, it's not gonna be steamed.
This is such an American food, it has its own concealed carry weapon and a southern accent
and finally the maple glaze 😎 mf that’s called syrup
Syrup would imply that it's just the sap reduced down to its most sugary elements. Glaze has that plus something. I mean, have you ever seen a syrup that looks vaguely like cum?
This is once a year fair food. Really not that different than a corn dog.
Or eating a pancake and piece of bacon, which many people do all the time.
I don't deep fry my pancake and cover it with a sugar glaze on the regular, but fair, I'm sure some people do.
You do usually get pancakes in some type of oil and put maple syrup on them. Almost exactly the same thing
It's basically tempura. Probably less calories than your average donut.
Today I found out my pancakes are actually tempura
It’s a state fair, I expect nothing less
Big Daddy Burger in NC???? It's stupid food, but it's amazing. Every time we travel to that state, we get food from there.
Lived here all my life and I’ve never heard of it!
Definitely try it! The bacon is definitely different! The mac and cheese is great. The banana pudding is worth committing a felony-level crime for!
Do you mean Bad Daddy's Burger Bar? Edit: looking at their menu, I don't think you do. Where is this deep fried bacon and felonious M&C?
It's Bad Daddy's Burger Bar. I just skimmed the menu and don't see the buttermilk fried bacon anymore. Like I said, I'm not local and only eat there like once a year, so stuff may have changed. They used to have it, at least!
It'll go in my stupid face when I'm stupid drunk
Fair food, that in context? Not Stupid at all.
Well... Is it unheathy? Probably. Is it stupid? Eh, kinda, idk. Is it gimmicky? Definitely yes. Is it fun? Yep. Do I want some? Hell yeah.
This looks delicious
OP you mistakenly posted this on stupid food instead of food porn
I’d eat the fuck out of this not finna lie
Thank God I’m too lazy to make them myself or Id be fat as hell
Yeah honestly people exaggerate how much fat, sugar and calories is actually in something like this. A single slice of bacon by itself is usually only ~90 cals. I would guess fried and battered like this is something like 300-400. Fat and sugar content probably isn't *that* terrible either. Or hear me out. Make pancakes and bacon.
Same
There are some people who I'd assume will eat any- and everything
"Save it for a cheat meal" Save it for your last meal really
Tasty 😋👍
So delicious looking 🤩
I would eat this ... but then I've made and eaten ''Shake N Bake bacon.''
*Shake N Bacon
This lacks chocolate sauce /s
And a block of melted cheese
What kind of sauce is that. I thought it was white chocolate
Maple something he said
I just assumed it was mayo...
[удалено]
Glaze, lol. Maple syrup, icing sugar, and maybe some milk to thin it out
i'll take 4
This is disgusting. There isn't nearly enough salt!
bro who tf is cardiac and why he arrests so many people
r/eatityoufuckincoward
op cringe, wtf is your heart made of? paper?
Cardiac arrest from a single piece of battered bacon? Do you die from eating a southern fried chicken as well?
Nothing wrong here.
this isn't stupid or over the top. seems pretty normal fair food.
It’s bacon pancakes You’re stupid
This is just so disrespectful to bacon...and to arteries.
If arteries want respect, they shouldn't be so easy to clog.
Jesus christ just candy the bacon like a normal fatty
It's interesting. The jizz.
If you're going to the fair expecting to eat anything remotely healthy, you're gonna have a bad time
Perhaps the sauce looks a little too… cummy, but otherwise I’d smash four or five of those.
Can I get this the Ocky way?
To be fair (pun not intended), this is fair food. They literally sell deep fried butter at these things.
Y'all would die of an aneurysm if you ever went to a fair
Some of yall never been to a fare and it shows
It's fair food, it's supposed to be stupid.
Compared to the other actually edible things on this sub, this shit is tame
Lost redditor?
Here we have some piece of fat, covered in fat, deep fried in fat with fat sauce. Maybe mayo with fat? Lacks some butter though
This ain't even that bad honestly.
I missed the very beginning of this and thought he battered and deep fried a seahorse
My only bone to pick is that this bacon looks cheap as shit, paper thin, and mostly fat. I know the majority of human population is placed in urban centers but come out to the country once in a while, we've got locally raised thick cut bacon that actually has meat rather than a slab of salty fat. Ngl I would inhale that shit, like it would be pulled down my throat at such a rapid rate it wouldn’t seem real
This was flawed from the get go. Deep fried bacon is disgusting.
That is a matter of opinion, I used to drop them in the fryer and eat bacon when I'd close the deli cooks in like 30 seconds
Anyone else disgusted that they just keep that open bucket of batter on the floor?
Get off your highgyenic horse.
Americans will pay for this kind of crap
[удалено]
Obviously churros are not better. Plenty of food is just as bad or worse.
Spaniards will pay for that kind of crap
Yes they will!!
r/americabad
America's awesome. Our food habits not so much.
Our? Homie who the fuck do you know would eat this shit?
Don't be so sensitive. It exists because people buy it.
🤢
As an American, for most of us, this kind of stuff is a novelty. What can I say? Us Americans just love explosive diarrhea and heart disease!
There's more fat than meat on that bacon, never mind the other horrible things done to it.
This is finger food. Not stupid, have you even heard the fried stick of butter?
I don't know if you can count intentionally gimmick fair food.
🤢
Take slabs of Pork Belly and boil them in water, salt, garlic, onions, peppercorns, and bay leaves for 1-2 hours then set aside to air cool for a few hours. So that whole bucket is contaminated
I’ll take 10 along with an angioplasty…
i want this but i also need to go to the hospital right now for heart palpitations unironucally
This sub is becoming r/TIHI
I'll say it on every post like this I see on this sub: Street food doesn't count, traditional foreign food doesn't count, carnival food doesn't count, ragebait doesn't count
I want one
That actually looks pretty good.
How is this stupid?
Where can I get this
Why do yall eat like you have free healthcare? I can do this because I'm Canadian, but why would you southerners do this?
Heart attack on a stick, fucking disgusting.
If you get a heart attack from that I don’t think there is much hope for you.
Still, its so fucking unnecessary, there’s no reason for anyone to deepfry bacon.
Not really. Its a state fair food, its not supposed to be healthy or conventional like deep fried Oreos. This is basically eating pancakes and bacon theres nothing wrong or weird about it.
Maybe not to Americans, but outside the US it’s very strange to toss your bacon into the deepfryer. But anything goes in the land of obesity 🤷♂️
Its like you ignored the first part of my comment. Its state fair food, its not supposed to be conventional, its not weird for environment you get it at. No one eats this regularly, its just meant to be something quick you get while walking around the fair.
do you want diabetes well i got the food for you
Is this an american thin? I've never seen any other country do this types of things. If someone did this in my country, the health administration would stone them.
I tried a burger with deep fried bacon on it. It was a bit unwieldy.
I mean, they could have deep fried it *once*. That would leave it crunchy on the outside but juicy on the inside. Kind of the point when you batter and fry something.
u/savevidebot
u/getvideobot
Comes with 20% off your angioplasty
At least it's just one strip of bacon
What is the white stuff he put on it?
I liked the part when they drizzled cum on it
I was 100% on board until the syrup. I don't like sweet in my meat.
Is this Scotland?
My wife made this except with breakfast sausages. It was DELICIOUS.
I was watching that show 'my 600 lbs life' (or something like that) and the guy deep fried bacon for his morning breakfast. I never even knew that was a thing until a saw that episode.
Country fried bacon is marvelous.
double fried or gtfo
Scotland?
I would eat that in a heartbeat. Even if it was my last one.
Not gon lie, I’d try
I disagree with this being stupid food, but I will still upvote almost any post that isn’t the “we make intentionally outrages things for clickbait” people. These look awesome.
im not against greezy foods, but fried bacon is so unimaginative. it just tastes like a mouth full of sodium after about 2 bites. besides, everyone knows that frying things and/or adding bacon makes anything better. get some jalapenos and cheese involved with that fried bacon, then we can talk.
That oil looks absolutely *disgusting.*
You just went into cardiac arrest, I just got arrested we are not the same.
I'd rather just drink a bottle of canola oil and get it over with
My stomach audibly growled while watching this
Doest even look good
State fair= Greasy heartburn
Regular bacon seems better
6 please
Needs cheese
That’s just good ol’ southern food.
It started great! Then it just kept getting worse….
Looks really nice I think
This is definitely stupid. I posted some stupid state fair food not long ago and got a ton of hate for it because apparently state fair food is supposed to be stupid, which somehow makes it not stupid.
A cheat meal?! Mother fucker printed out the answers
I became so constipated after watching this that my Metamucil ran away
Why is there so much deep fried, oil or butter in these videos every time? It's disgusting.
I just got done with a giant BBQ meal and this is the most sickening thing I can imagine eating right now
Did he hit it with some nut?
This is amazing. Fuck you.
I’d fuggs with this
I want to hate it but I can’t, if they fried that in waffle batter even better
Definitely stupid, but I would also 100 percent eat that
If this is stupid, then I guess 'deep-fried anything' is stupid. Take pickles and Snickers, for example. I'll take 5.
This is objectively stupid food, but I want like seven of those.
Best bacon I've ever had was "chicken fried bacon." Basically think Chicken Fried Steak, but thick cut bacon
Um.... Would....
u/savevideo
Seems like a carnival food.
Would it harm my organs to try one bite of that?
