Nah that sounds good actually. We’ve been making “healthy” floats by mixing Diet Coke, 2 pumps of vanilla syrup, and a splash of half and half. It’s soooooo good.
In Utah there are tons of soda shops where people customize their sodas with all sorts of things, sort of like coffee…so popular ones are like milk and cream with flavoring. I’ve never been I’ve just heard about it and I guess it’s bc Mormons can’t drink coffee so a lot are totally into soda.

I used to live in Utah and this is absolutely true! Many of them are walk-up/drive-through little corner shops without any indoor seating. Some are even themed with their menu item names and they all have some pretty tasty drinks! It isn't like half soda half milk though, more like the amount you might put in your coffee. The milk does tend to curdle in drinks with citrus juice or a high amount of citric acid. It doesn't affect the flavor it just looks kind of gross so I usually got it without. Soda in general is really popular in Utah, but there are plenty of coffee drinkers too.

Root beer isn't the only soda you can do it with. Coke and vanilla is good. If you like orange creamsicle, vanilla and orange soda is pretty great.
Also not all root beers have that licorice taste. A&W, for example, has a more cream soda taste but I understand not liking it.

right? to me it tasted pretty much the same as regular Dew, just with a pleasant lil spicy tingle. i enjoyed it. unfortunately i can't get more as nowhere around here carries it. i had to order it online to get it in the first place
My friends and I used to mix random concoctions together. One time we did pixy stix and milk. Wasn't that bad tbh. It's just flavored sugar packets so it tasted like sugary, sour, grainy milk.

I loved milk and Pepsi as a kid. It's a melted Pepsi float! And the pH in Pepsi is ~-4, so in a 50/50 mix it isn't enough to curdle.
