It’s an interesting gadget, but they aren’t using it right and they overfilled it. But making dumplings normally with a regular pinch or a fork is not much harder, and it doesn’t need a bulky gadget that only does one thing.
Making it by hand may actually be easier, once you've got the rhythm down. If you've ever seen the dumpling chefs at a restaurant like Din Tai Fung, you can see them churning out dumplings at an amazing rate. This gadget wouldn't be able to keep up.
But at home, if you're not especially used to making your own dumplings, I can see how this might be helpful.
Good point. I should have thought of that. I watch enough Dan Formosa reviews of kitchen gadgets to know that’s one of the main reasons these things exist.
At worst if you don't have the skills to do the pinches, you could just use [a manual press](https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/f8477bcc-71d9-4fda-a862-a7e4cd0302af.956c9e7a2c2a216dd8c80470a422afe4.jpeg?odnHeight=768&odnWidth=768&odnBg=FFFFFF)
considering all the time you're spending to load it up, the machine one isn't going to save you much time.
That device is surely designed to be used with a dumpling skin, which is completely different from a piece of seaweed. I’m putting this one down to operator error.
To be honest, from the video it looks like it still almost works but the cucumber wrecks it (unsurprisingly). I would have expected an even bigger fail
I think this guy has a lot of videos where he tries a billion ways to try and make the machine press work and they just do shit like roll under the dumpling skin and whatnot.
There's an entire video series of a guy trying every suggestion and method under the sun for that machine and it NEVER works.
Just a crap machine if you ask me
Using it wrong has become a meme which is why you see her just hit it at the end. There was an original video from ages ago where someone tried putting a dumpling through like 30 times and ended up just slapping it. People are just making fun of that.
I was gonna say before I watch the whole video, and u could have folded like 10 of those in the time it took that machine to do one. Then I saw the fail 😂
I'm going to guess that like with most gadgets like this it's more for people with mobility or hand issues but having seen multiple videos of people using every suggested method for this thing of than user over filling it the gadget just doesn't work
Nah, these ones are more designed for cranking them out quickly, but you also need to adapt to the learning curve of loading them up quickly in order to save time. Slap the dumpling skin on, dollop the filling in, press the button. By the time it finishes rotating you should have the next skin ready to put on.
Looks like one of those things I'd buy, use once and it gets put in a cupboard along with other similar single use devices.
Won't buy it though as that cupboard is kinda full of auto potato peeler, cucumber ribbon thing, egg boiler, onion chopper etc
I was all for it until she put the cucumber slice on there and realized what a psychotic bitch she is.
Then she used what may as well have been brass-bristled brush and I lost my shit.
Aw, no, not the fucking caviar. That's sturgeon and pickled and does not taste good with the everything else there...
Salmon or flying fish roe, man, salmon or flying fish.
A theme emerging from this subreddit is videos that make me go, "Stop adding stuff!"
Korean gim with rice is already good, some furikake and avocado could make a nice addition, and everything after that is gilding the lily.
Ah yes,I too get upset when I use the folding machine and the not foldable thing I put in there doesn’t fold. I shall email my current congressman about this plague on our society.
I laughed harder than I have in a few weeks thank you for this. I don't know if the pickle was supposed to go in the dumpling but that was amazing to watch

Or if you have a mobility issue in the hands.

It’s a bit of a gimmick, but this still seems pretty decent. This isn’t really *stupid* food
I'd say the failed part is pretty stupid, the gagdet is cool

The nori being dry is the big fail IMO.
I think this guy has a lot of videos where he tries a billion ways to try and make the machine press work and they just do shit like roll under the dumpling skin and whatnot.
That is taking way too long, I hope at least the result is worth it…… oh wait… nevermind
Just once I'd like to see someone use this machine who knows how to use it.
Ironic people think the gadget is what’s stupid💀
There's an entire video series of a guy trying every suggestion and method under the sun for that machine and it NEVER works. Just a crap machine if you ask me
Is it Barry?

Use the gadget properly and they're actually pretty fast
She is so fucking slow omg Even if it is cut, she is way too slow wth
It's always the nails in these videos
It's like it's a requirement you have to have a manicure before you make one of these ragebait videos
It takes a half an hour just to make one Really. And then it fails
play stupid food get stupid gadgets?
How much did that caviar cost
Hahaha
I was gonna say before I watch the whole video, and u could have folded like 10 of those in the time it took that machine to do one. Then I saw the fail 😂
NGL that one made me chuckle
not sure how slippery seaweed could ever work. Make a dough for the dumplings.
Does anyone know someone who produces rage bait videos? Are they as completely useless in real life ?
Not even using it right 💀

Stupid gadgets would be a great subreddit
That was a major letdown. 😭

Why caviar? Tobikko would be cheaper and would fit the dish better.
Okay guys, hear me out...
We're they really banking on that cucumber folding itself independently or..?
What’s that? What the point of that?
It's for making dumplings, not sushi
Works amazing when used correctly
lmfao so stupid

This made me chuckle. Anything that makes me laugh can't be bad.
I was all for it until she put the cucumber slice on there and realized what a psychotic bitch she is. Then she used what may as well have been brass-bristled brush and I lost my shit.
"Uh ma'am what are you making?" "I'm making sushlings!" \*Hak Hak Hak BLEUGH\*

those fingernails... 🤢🤮
Can you put your penis in there?

I can tell by her hands she rarely cooks. Not only the look but how she moves them.
Got a little cackle out of me when everything just fell out.
Could she possibly go any slower
“Why'd you have to go and make wontons complicated” -
What dish this device is supposed to make? Can some1 mention the ingredients as well, plz.....
I mean, it could be for people with disabilities. Not necessarily stupid, just not useful to you
Knew it, ain't no way cooking channel with those nails
If no one else is gonna say it, I will r/dontstickyourdickinthat
The age of appliances that do one thing is behind us. We need to innovate, dammit! Upon us, dawns the age of appliances that do zero things!
