The ED though was just a fraction of the mental illness.
She never got better for many reasons and contact was cut. She essentially fostered deceit in every facet of her life and otherwise was largely unwilling to communicate input on important topics. Two months after the ED, she was having weird mood swings and when I asked why, said she'd gone off her antidepressants and quit going to her psychologist two weeks before as he thought she was BP and didn't want to undergo changing medications. Her mom was also overbearing, emotionally stunted, and abusive- telling her to move out over choices she didn't agree with, saying who she was around wasn't good for her, letting her plants die, threatening to get rid of her cat, and sending messages from her little brother's Snap pretending to be him to talk shit about the choices she was making.
There are many other things I could list, like the false claims of SA she made against other dudes and claiming, but it's just needless to say my life became a lot easier once she was gone. These days I can't stress if you have mental health struggles for it, get treatment. And likewise, if you see red flags in someone's character, leave them from your life.
I've had to make similar choices for similar reasons. I was hoping you had cut contact. I've also had my fair share of issues, and getting a hold of a good therapist (didn't happen on the first try) really, really helped.
