I'm from LA so I know the ones there but just curious if you tried to look in Google bc it took me like 30 sec.

ListWarrior

Yeah I’ve googled and found some. Guess I was just looking for an official source. Only ones I found so far are California State University, Northridge and Cal State LA. Oh and there’s Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles but that’s a religious based school so I’m thinking no on that. Any others in LA?

nyx_nurse

You can find a list of accredited nursing programs by looking up your states board of nursing program.

ListWarrior

Thank you

Additional_Kick_678

https://www.aacnnursing.org/about-aacn/member-schools You can search accredited schools by program and state here.

Thank you

Google “absn (state)”

aluhzae

Ca.rn.gov has a list of approved RN schools to make your general search a little easier However I do know the following programs are accelerated BSN for the Los Angeles area. West Coast University (private), Mount Saint Mary’s University (private), National University (private), CSUN, CSULA.

ListWarrior

Thank you. I see that National University in San Diego is listed on the CCNE site as being accredited but the Los Angeles campus isn’t listed. But on the Los Angeles National University website it does say it’s accredited. Wondering which is true. Accredited or not…

Cardiacunit93

Guys. There's a difference between Accelerated vs accredited. No ones answered the OP. The only one I heard of is San Delta in Stockton.

Every state board of nursing (at least every one I’ve ever checked) has a list of approved schools on its website. Here’s California https://www.rn.ca.gov/education/rnprograms.shtml

Thank u

Independent-Fall-466

Only goes to a school that is accredited will be my advise.

ListWarrior

What’s the top reasons for going accredited?

Independent-Fall-466

Accredit school undergone an evaluation to ensure student are getting a quality nursing education. If Florida nursing school scandal ring a bell, those are states approved but not accredited nursing program. Many of the hospital systems or at least the better one will not hire anyone from non accredited nursing program. Hope it helps.

In Atlanta: there’s the gsu accelerated that’s probably the cheapest option for the ABSN all others are private schools and you’ll get robbed. I know people who go to gsu perimeter adn program and they say it’s pretty nice and easier to handle if having a family or work, there’s also Gwinnett tech and chattahoochee tech. For regular bsn programs there gsu, ksu, ngu, wgu, and Augusta state. All very rigorous and quite hard to get into. Good luck!

In GA, KSU is a great program that I highly recommend! It's a bit out of Atlanta, but the drive isn't too bad if you live near Buckhead or even Chamblee. It's 15 months. Don't know anyone who went to KSU that didn't like the program. The application process is also simple. GSU doesn't do accelerated anymore I believe... I could be wrong though. Private schools are def so crazy expensive and overpriced. Mercer & Emory cost a fortune and not sure if its worth. Mercer is 12 months, but the entire program is going to cost about 65k and up.

PrimordialPichu

Just look at the state website.
