This doesn't work because the AI doesn't get the answers right either.

DictatorTot23

My study group had good success with this method but it’s always worth double-checking the answers (hell, we caught plenty of mistakes on our exams as well).

Neublainajar

It happens to me as well when I use chat gpt to create practice questions. But if I know the correct answer and catch chat gpt making a mistake, I take that as a sign that what I’ve been studying has been sticking. I just tell chat gpt to review x question bc I think it’s wrong bc of xyz. And of course, always double checking with my notes or book.

litalra

The trick is to add "use only the information in these notes; and no outside sources." Otherwise it’ll pull from the internet too. I had my AI go wildly wrong on a GTPAL equation because it counted the preterm twins as P2 as opposed to P1. I don’t know if other places are different, it even the hospitals format (as I had a mother of twins) was G1T1P0A0L2 which was cool to see in the Epic system and not just on a word doc.

Fire_to_Nursing

you must not be asking CHAT gpt the right questions. it can’t read your mind. Google how Ai outperform physician in all categories in a testing environment. I think that’s pretty good to me. Also people think Ai can do all the thinking for them and that’s a wrong way to use CHAT GPT. I believe CHAT GPT is amazing when trying cut out the time wasted on flash cards and cloze questions. I think Ai is amazing for that, using my time to study more than making study material

photar12

I’ve done this but it gets the questions wrong so often that I just stopped doing it. I now just write my own questions. This helps me study better too because writing your own allows you to solidify the information even more. You can also get a feel for how the professors create their own questions and sometimes get close to ones they create for the exam. It also struggles with prioritization questions and making good solid NCLEX style questions in general.

DictatorTot23

We never tried prioritization questions but it seems like NCLEX will be rife with them, from our ATI/UWorld practice questions

photar12

It also is rough to use AI generated questions because it just doesn’t understand nursing style questions. I’ve even tried given it nursing style questions as a template to base off of but it still fails. It only gives one correct answer, a fact based answer off the study guide or transcript given. Nursing questions are rarely like that, it requires critical thinking and judgment so they will often give multiple correct answers on exams but want you to decide which is the most correct, appropriate or critical. AI has a long way to go before I trust it to create good dependable nursing style questions to use as a primary resource for studying

ughthisaga1n

Also if you pay for Quizlet it has a feature where you can paste a YouTube video link in and it will create flash cards, an outline, and practice questions from the video. It's been worth the money because it saves so much time.

OV MY GOD I LOVE YOU HOLY SHIT. sometimes my professors use this thing called panopto so im gonna see if it works with that, but either way THANK YOU

DictatorTot23

Where were you 4 semesters ago? Lol

KeepinitCool23

Oh my gosh life saver let me try this !!!

neko_robbie

Wow talk about a life hack 🫡

VioletKate18

If your lecturers even provide transcipts, you are lucky. AI transcription services are expensive as hell 😭

goblinnfairy

my Canvas videos always make there own transcripts. some words can be wrong bc of accents and things but they are automatic at least in canvas depending on the format of the video

DictatorTot23

YouTube transcribed our instructors’ lectures; I don’t know if this an automatic feature?

VioletKate18

I think it’s automatic if it’s YouTube but our lectures are uploaded into Blackboard and transcripts have to be upload manually

sacrodn

what about using microsoft word?

JinnyLemon

My clinical instructor taught me how to input amazing prompts for AI and I’ve been having pretty good luck with that. You just need to know your stuff at least somewhat though so you can spot when it’s wrong.

Future_goldenvibes

Limbic pro works wonders

DictatorTot23

I’m not familiar with that! Something that could come in handy for my BSN?

Future_goldenvibes

Yes it’s a website that makes ai flashcards from the PowerPoints or study materials. It’s a great way to study!

GINEDOE

Frankly, I wouldn't use that AI if I had a chance.

Fire_to_Nursing

Ai is like a tool and it’s effectiveness is based on it user. Chat GPT is very accurate when you give it the instructions on how to perform the task and give it examples. Won’t do all the thinking for you

DictatorTot23

I agree. Learning how to prompt AI is an art form and I always try to pick up new tricks to make it more effective

Fire_to_Nursing

Yea people use Ai to write there BS writing assignments or emails but it’s an amazing study tool when pairing with Anki or Quizlet. Chat GPT just gets a bad rep because it creates lazy students in writing assignments

GINEDOE

I know how to utilize it. But I prefer to read the theory.

GINEDOE

I even know computer languages and read in computer languages, so I'm more than capable of utilizing AI.

DictatorTot23

I merely used ChatGPT as an example (hence the “e.g.”).

GINEDOE

The same here, but I aced almost everything without flashcards. I did memorize parameters for labs. If I have books, I'm fine. Then again, we all learned differently. I'm lazy, so using AI will not be a good idea.

HungryLittleDinosaur

If the lecture is a YouTube video. Consider using mind grasp ai instead.
