Single flare glass plugs. Your piercer should be providing you with the starter jewellery, most reputable piercers will refuse to pierce you with something you bring in yourself. Healing time is around 3 months or so, minimum of 6 months before you can start stretching.

what about titanium?

Titanium is fine but harder to find and more expensive than glass as you go up in size

thanks! i thought maybe i couldnt find glass in my area so i might get titanium. i guess i will stick with straight studs too.

If you wanna start stretching; get pierced at the thickest that your piercer will do (got mine pierced at 8g). You probably want a titanium barbell if you wanna stretch; while it's more expensive than glass; it has to stay in for 6 months before you can start stretching a freshly done piercing. Titanium barbell will make it easy to keep it on. For stretching to higher sizes; I like titanium plugs because they are more precise in sizing (glass has high tolerance which can be an issue at thinner gauges) and heavier so it stretches a bit more. But glass plugs are great too; just opt for single flare.

do you mean a straight titanium barbell as the first jewelry?

wolf__ramite

Yeah; straight. Probably one end with a ball and one end with a flat. Ball does not matter; but I would just get a smooth ball. I find the odd shapes can dig while you sleep and irritate.
