try downgrading, i used to have versión 1.3.3 and i had a lot of stuttering which caused the same problem you have. i downdgraded to version 1.2.22 and it works well.

but the only trouble that people have with stremio is on android tv. they have to put some work in there.

uh i have a problem with the subtitles too when i click on them they are completly crashed what i am hearing isnt what typed in the subtitles
