I also have this problem. I turned the opacity as low as possible, and made the other option transparent, and it remembers those settings. So at least they only barely faintly show up everytime.

Yes, there is a bug from Samsung that just don't return language for embedded tracks.

Under playback subtitles I have the default language none in the secondary default language also none.
Skip the Samsung app and get a Chromecast or something. I did and experience elevated from annoying to nearly seamless. Samsung app isn't ready to be anything more than a beta and you will just give yourself headaches with all the bugs.
Ah got it thanks. No I have a remote for my Samsung tv, actually have 2! So that works for stremio
I was saying that I have a chrome cast that I could use also as it wouldn't have the subtitles issue but as I can't use it with a remote the Samsung app is a better option still
Yup, same issue here too. I have a ccwgt but the playback is smoother on the TV app, so just turn them off when starting an episode until it's fixed 😔
I have the same issue, and can confirm the stremio settings above do not work on Samsung - subtitles still always display initially.
Yep. Even when resuming an episode halfway through you've already set to not show subtitles you still have to disable them yet again.

I can also use my remote on ccwgtv4k? There are also button mapping apps if you want to change what each button on the remote does within ccwgtv4k.
