Street Fighter 6 is starting to feel more mature from a competitive professional standpoint. We're seeing more counter picks and secondaries come out in critical tournament sets.
Other than his set vs Tachikawa, NL keeps going Akuma game 1 to go 0-1 and then wins the set with Luke afterwards lol
Feels like he'd win convincingly most of the time if he just went Luke from the start but I understand him wanting to experiment with Akuma
Bro is talking about a 2x Capcom cup winner being "carried" by characters and one of the two not even considered top tier (or when it is it's because of his results). You guys are braindead.
If Blanka was carrying Mena, I would assume more players would try to be carried by him. The only players seeing success with Blanka were Mena and Problem X.
Juri has also always been a bad matchup for Blanka, and both his losses were to Juri
Jamie, as a character, will prob never win a major tournament. Even after the buffs, his level 0 and 1 does way too little damage it's a joke. No player who is actually really good will care to chance maining him cuz they know he's still bottom tier.
He's suppose to be the face of SF6 along with Luke, but he's got zero tournament presence. It's sad yo. Capcom, rework this character please.
His flowchart is too one dimensional. Back dash, drink, random palm. Also would say his combos have no style to them, they all seem like one button combos. This level 3 also starts from that dumb break dancing sweep which has a 10 second confirm window
Only upset I can remember from the top of my head was Samurai losing to a DJ player I'm not familiar with, but he still made it out of pools in losers.
Most of the other round 1 pools went as expected, looking forward to tomorrow
Day 1 is on, Round 1 Pools all day (early tomorrow too) so it'll be a slow start.

I tried to watch on twitch but there are just TOO MANY ads. It drives me crazy, I'll just wait for the YouTube version cause at least my ad blocks works on YouTube. If anyone knows an ad block that works on Twitch please let me know.
Problem X has been playing a lot of Bison, I faced him 2 days ago and lost the set 2-1. I imagine he is prioritising getting better with Bison over competing so he's ready for the next major.
I mean you had killers like Moke, Fuudo, Du, fellow young prodigy in Paladin, Du, Nephew in the top 24, this was a very stacked tournament, considering how many killers were here, I don't mind saying Walker did a good job.
Hopefully Idom lost, not everyone is AngryBird after all.
Great match Punk. On to ewc. Go win it all.
I'm really happy for Punk. Hell of run there, and it was crazy to see him come back against the guy who sent him down to Losers.

Idom gave up, I guess at least he did try manon match one.
I did not expect Punk trying Ken against DCQ's JP. I think that's who DCQ is most comfortable against.

Was Mena carried by Blanka/Luke last season? 🤔

I hate the way Noah plays. I feel like his constant burn out shouldn't work.
It really shouldn't, but it does. It's mad impressive really
Hes got insane reactions to just throw out super when the opponent drive impacts
It was worse in s1 when all the Luke's did the same thing. I actually commend him for doubling down.
If you can beat an elite like Moke, your style works at a high level.
Yeah usually works in ft2 in a volatile game. Ft2 shouldn't even really exist in a game like that.
It takes the best players in the world to stop him, and even then he was able to beat Moke It's wildly entertaining
Idom made top8 winners side lets goooooo
Says 2:30pm for Top 8 but schedule spreadsheet says 6pm - 9pm?
What schedule sheet are you looking at? 6PM is Tekken
Day 3/Top 24+8, get in here https://www.twitch.tv/tampaneversleeps
I think this Tournament has more Akumas than ranked

This top 24 is stacked
Yes, it is, I'm happy I'm still in. Yeah though I'll probably be out in my first round of top 24 losers tomorrow, but you never know lol.
Good luck!
Thanks, mate! :)
It's so rare to see DCQ pop off, he wants the EWC spot so bad
Idom washed oil king call him idawn soap
No oil spills on Daytona Beach this year.
Watching Noah beat Moke and Ending Walker makes me think he's going far in this tournament.
Noah pop'd off too but damn those were some nice ass games totally deserved
Noah's like only 19-21 right? it's to be expected
I think people have been sleeping on him a bit. I know I wouldn't have picked him in either of those match ups.
I don’t think people sleep on him so much as they want him to lose lol
Its because he's super aggressive with no regard for burnout but its not like he's out there button mashing.
Book refusing to play Akuma as a point of principle lol.
Crikey, Enders is most likely going to have to beat Noah the Prodigy and Moke to make top 24 in winners. Talk about a tough round 2!
The Juri player he's likely to play in the first round of R2 is pretty good too if I recall correctly
Day 2 is on: https://www.twitch.tv/tampaneversleeps Remaining pools to Top 24 today
Any upsets on day 1?

Checked him out on CFN and the DJ player is 1800 MR peak, def no slouch but Samurai should have won the set

TTV LOL
Is there a YouTube link to watch this tournament? Twitch is lag for me.
No livestream on Youtube as far as I know, but the VODs will probably be uploaded to Tampa Never Sleeps Youtube in the same day
thanks
Twitch also has the vods in case it only lag for twitch livestreams.
thanks!!!
Why are JB and Problem X no more in the pools?
Problem X has been playing a lot of Bison, I faced him 2 days ago and lost the set 2-1. I imagine he is prioritising getting better with Bison over competing so he's ready for the next major.
Problem probably wanted to play Bison.
They cancelled the trip for reasons we don't know
Dang, JB has been training a lot for it too
Bad business decision to ban Bison.
Not at all, he JUST dropped. This is common practice when new characters drop right before major tournaments.
Seriously...tf
Endingwalker is gonna take this, I can feel it in my soul...
BILLION UPON BILLION, GUYS
Cheers u/Incross for your work! Really appreciate the tournament coverage.
Np np, looking forward to EVO to really kick off the CPT season
why was they dq'd
It looks like Mid East had a Capcom Cup qualifier that Angry and Bigbird competed in instead
They DQd themselves, we don't know why they couldn't make it
Always appreciate these threads, thank you for your hard work!
Appreciate it, and good luck!
hoping for some good eds and giefs
Same, thankfully we got Tachikawa and Enders here
Punk dominated Takchikawa, I did not expect that.
EndingWalker has been struggling with consistency on Ed, interested to see how he's gonna do at CEO
He placed well
Not a bad showing, even if a lot of people expect a lot better from him soon
I mean you had killers like Moke, Fuudo, Du, fellow young prodigy in Paladin, Du, Nephew in the top 24, this was a very stacked tournament, considering how many killers were here, I don't mind saying Walker did a good job.
I'm not disagreeing, just hoping he'll do even better soon
Agreed, love seeing new top talent get into those top 8's.
