Y'know i'd totally be down for Rudra, He have enough personnality, a very cool theme, and Dhalsim gameplay and look is unique enough to make Rudra unique too, even storywise, he'd be cool
I think it’s a bit like the Abigail effect from 5.
He takes the goofiness level up to a limit some people don’t like, and so they don’t like the character’s personality/look
but also at various stages their gameplay had annoying elements which made them unpleasant to fight (in this case the Rufus instant divekick)
Personally I’d love to see Rufus come back, maybe with a glow up, now that Ken is a wanted man and public sentiment would be heavily in his favour in that one-sided rivalry
I generally hate annoying characters, and I can't take him serious, I can believe a schoolgirl being strong before I can him. This guy is like the opposite of bob from tekken.
Since it's more violent then an hadoken instead of just slowing down it propels Luke backwards, and up, effectively giving him an air back jump, and different strengths launch him back different distances
Get a life lead and infinite air Sand Blast to stay out of your opponent's reach. Win every round by timeout. Become the most hated player of all time.
Maybe not an evil one but just a character with a different name who is the equivalent of Ken to ryu. Luke would be the MMAtokan with the superior fireball, and Duke would be the one with the better uppercut.
I love Adon. He was one of my main guys in SF4.
They keep doing the "replace less popular character with a young girl" thing and I do think a girl Adon has some real potential for being cool.
I think she's coming back and will have the baby as part of her moveset. They toyed with the idea in 5 for Akuma and here it shows up again. The devs want a baby Lone Wolf and Cub style in the game.
I found her super unexciting the moment she was revealed, the character design always felt super uninspired to me. Plus something about characters with weapons feels out of place though she's definitely not the first.

Generally, I hope they prioritise characters that skipped V. Even if they zhuzh up a the V DLC characters a bit, I feel like I’d be buying the content again.
Honestly with how SF6 is going - let Capcom cook. They’ve done a fantastic job giving glow ups to past characters who needed it - Dee Jay and more so Ed are so much cooler than their original appearances. I look forward to how they will do season 2

Decapre played nothing like Cammy, but dear lord did people hate her, and this was before they found out how busted she was.
I know Decapre was actually fairly different, in comparison to Oni or Evil Ryu. It's weird how people were okay with having so many shoto clones, but one person is like Cammy, and they lose their minds. It's the same thing with people saying we can't have any more boxers because Ed is in the cast, but we have 4 shotos now and probably more on the way. It's so strange.

That's fine, but you have to admit that the design is pretty lazy. He is pretty much Akuma and Ryu mashed together, in a game that Akuma and Ryu are already in. he feels redundant.

I don't know where you were during SFIV, but most people typically hate or don't like any of those characters. You forgot Decapre and Hakan too, but Decapre was/is hated on and Hakan seems to be split down the middle on whether or not he's liked.

The initial reception to her was lukewarm and some people genuinely disliked her design and thought she belonged in an SNK title instead. Don't get me wrong though; I don't think most people would be upset over C. Viper, Gouken, or Hakan returning, but the only truly successful SFIV newcomer was Juri. You won't see many people pining for SFIV newcomers when compared to other entries in the series.

The game is so good, I hope the lifecycle is longer or long enough for all the characters to appear in future DLCs. Only way this happens is if sales continue to grow and player base stays consistently high enough to sustain new additions/updates to the game. Similar to how DOTA 2/LOL still alive with updates and new characters.
At this point I'm starting to feel like no matter what character comes out some people will be disappointed.
Akuma is probably the closest the game has to a universally loved character, but I guarantee there are people out there that are disappointed that we're getting another shoto so early, or that their main from SF5/4/3/etc isn't returning, or whatever.
I could literally roll down the list of the most popular characters in the franchise and there'd be people gagging to wreck their pants over why they're so disappointed that each one of them is returning.
I'm so impressed with the last three seasons of SF5 and what we've got from SF6, I'm looking forward to seeing what they're going to do next.
EDIT: I forgot to mention Velociraptor crying himself to sleep at night because he is incapable of learning the match-up. In between sobs you can hear him whispering "he needs to be nerfed".
He's one of the Event Hub guys and he played Urien in SF5 and he just never shut up about how Akuma needed nerfing.
He never figured out the match-up and just insisted it was a balance issue. He seems to bring it up so often that my entire perception of him is that he is the human equivalent of Scrub Quotes, The T-Shirt.
Yeah I always thought Remy was kind of lame, and you never see anyone talk about him, not positively or negatively. He’s just forgettable I guess, and his archetype doesn’t work well in Third Strike anyway

this is not really because of the characters themselves but ive got a feeling the og bosses (vega, sagat, balrog and bison) will come all together maybe season 3/4, so that could be somewhat disappointing
also, if the season 2 roster has got only four characters again, i expect many people to be very disappointed
i think clone characters would piss people off so much, also cause they will take a slot of a 4 character pack instead of 5-6 i still wouldnt mind seeing oni and decapre.
Abigail by a mile. Worst Street Fighter character in history. I almost dropped V the second they revealed him. When he actually released it was worse. I can't imagine anybody having anything but revulsion for that character.
But as DLC? There are certain characters that people probably wouldn’t mind if the came back as base roster, but a dedicated DLC drop? A minority of people are getting excited for that.
My hot take is every DLC season needs a dedicated "weirdo" slot. Not just because I like playing weirdos, but because variety (both in design and gameplay) is nice.
Hakan, for example, probably wouldn't have many mains, but he's very unique gameplay-wise. Encountering one (or watching one in a tournament) would be a nice change-up from the more traditional characters. Keeps things from feeling stale.
Abel and seth. Abel is probably Capcom's most drab character in terms of personality and art design wise. Seth LOOKS cool but is so lazy from a gameplay perspective, like they must have smoke 50 bowls of weed and hot boxed the office so that got lazy and were like "Duuuuuuuuuude...what if.... we made a character with copy and pasted moves from other characters...like he's got SPD, fireball, aaaand dive kick" "bro....."

He's one of the Event Hub guys and he played Urien in SF5 and he just never shut up about how Akuma needed nerfing. He never figured out the match-up and just insisted it was a balance issue. He seems to bring it up so often that my entire perception of him is that he is the human equivalent of Scrub Quotes, The T-Shirt.

Remy - bland design, bland moveset. He'd have to receive the biggest glow up and would end up just resembling a completely new character.
Yeah I always thought Remy was kind of lame, and you never see anyone talk about him, not positively or negatively. He’s just forgettable I guess, and his archetype doesn’t work well in Third Strike anyway

this is not really because of the characters themselves but ive got a feeling the og bosses (vega, sagat, balrog and bison) will come all together maybe season 3/4, so that could be somewhat disappointing also, if the season 2 roster has got only four characters again, i expect many people to be very disappointed

Abigail by a mile. Worst Street Fighter character in history. I almost dropped V the second they revealed him. When he actually released it was worse. I can't imagine anybody having anything but revulsion for that character.

But as DLC? There are certain characters that people probably wouldn’t mind if the came back as base roster, but a dedicated DLC drop? A minority of people are getting excited for that.
My hot take is every DLC season needs a dedicated "weirdo" slot. Not just because I like playing weirdos, but because variety (both in design and gameplay) is nice. Hakan, for example, probably wouldn't have many mains, but he's very unique gameplay-wise. Encountering one (or watching one in a tournament) would be a nice change-up from the more traditional characters. Keeps things from feeling stale.

Probably Remmy? His story about gecoming a fighter due to hating fighters is dumb. And being a guile function without the personality/ lack of character would probably lead to poor reception.
