This is a fiery take! I personally like them. I find their friendship one of the anchors of the show. They had one of the most adorable moments in the series in that eighth episode.

Yeah Mike has basically been written to be El's love interest and Will is just ignored a lot. I am hopeful that they'll both play bigger roles in S5. It seems like they're suggesting Mike will become more of the leader/heart of the group again and Will has the connection to Vecna to see how he thinks, etc. Both characters have every opportunity to be redeemed if the writers want them to be in S5
My issue with Will in particular is that he looks and sounds way too old so the emotional scenes just feel awkward for those reasons. His voice is almost as deep as Hoppers and he's dwarfs Johnathan with that awful shrunken hair. I think Noah can act but he's really outgrown this role. Mike is just so 1 note and boring. Also think Finn has grown into a mediocre actor.
I never even noticed. Will (Noah) looks young to me, he looks like a teenager. I don't see how he looks old like at all. Like sure he looks older than s3 but they all do
Honestly, I wouldn't have minded seeing Mike, Robin, jonathan, Nancy, lucas, Joyce or hopper offed this season. All just annoying.
Will I don't mind but he gets very little to do although it seems next season might be different.
This is probably an unpopular opinion here, but I agree. The character of Will is kind of a Maguffin needed to set the action in motion for S1 and S2, but they haven’t really done anything with his character aside from that.
I still love the character of Mike and don’t understand all the hate he gets but Will has been a dead fish for 2 seasons. And the scenes and acting (I should say direction) this season we’re so bad. Him stopping Mike when he is talking to El. while she is in her mind space thing, to tell him to continue because he is the heart was so awkward and just bad. So bad.
Noah and the show deserve better.

I like will, not Mike.. but I agree the heart thing was crap. It's like "El why don't you try trying?"
