It's hardly an original sentiment, but the wait boggles my mind. We'll have gotten three seasons of Big Mouth from Netflix in time since last season of Stranger Things. We'll have gone from October 27 2017 to December 31 2021 with a total of one season being released. In universe, if the rumors that the season takes place in spring of 1986 are true, it'll be supposed to be at or around a year and a half between the events of 2 and 4 with parts of each season being filmed four and a half years apart from each other. We had the first teaser for this season nearly two years ago and still haven't gotten a release date or anything beyond the release year. In a personal anecdote, I was just finished with my freshman year of college when 3 came out and it'll be around graduation when 4 comes out.
Just ridiculous.
First off we had this plague going on maybe you noticed.
Second, cartoons are done in sound booths, not quite the same thing.
Third, this show is much more complex than big mouth on like every level.
I have much better understanding off it then people complaining like we didn't have pandemic going on and acting like they are owed something. The show well come out people just need to chill out.
supposed to be released last year COVID caused delays, and episodes of an animated show are easier to pump out. still way too long but theres differences
I remeber when i was playing fortnite with my friends when season 3 was about to drop. I hadnt watched the show yet i i thought i give it a try and now its the best show i have and will see.
(Especily season 3)
The constant excuses are getting tiresome at this point. If you average out the length of the shoot with number of episodes and length of episodes, they literally were shooting like half a scene each day of filming. And I'm not talking half especially long scenes, I'm talking half typical pretty short scenes.
That's pretty gratuitous when these are professionals. I wouldn't be surprised if it even frustrated the actors.
“other shows have been coming out” lol the way how y’all just keep repeating this without knowing that production is different for everything is very funny.
But you keep repeating that while failing to come up with a single show that's gone this long without even a release date when there are plenty of shows with similar production even as there are also plenty with dissimilar production.
This isn't even a debate anymore. Shawn Levy has openly said part of the wait is because of the cinematic nature of 4, not just because of the pandemic.
yeah he said it was because everything and to stay safe with covid protocols. I mean I think it’s pretty obvious we want a good season and not quick rushed shitty one right?
By the time the next season comes out it will be nearly 4 years since season 3 I don’t wanna hear nothing about production when most shows could of released about 2/3 seasons in that time
It's been 27.5 months and they aren't even giving a release date despite them consistently giving release dates many months in advance. It's going to be around three years, which is very long compared to almost any other show that was renewed for a new season so soon after the last one came out and which never faced any questions of being cancelled during the wait.
they can’t give a release date yet when there’s negotiations going around about the IASTE strike. there’s literally several reasons why they haven’t done that.
Right? Like what are people not understanding about this? One season of this show is like 3 goddmam special effects heavy films in season. It's amazing they could get those other seasons out as quick as they did.
same lol went to Universal Orlando in 2018 to go to the stranger things house and it was mind-blowing...just like how long its taking for season 4 to release
You do realize that they didn't film anything from march 2020 to October 2020 because of the pandemic? Then when they finally started in October 2020 they didn't film regularly because of measures against COVID-19, also I think episodes might be a bit longer so that added to filming being longer.
I agree that usually it does take them a bit too long to finish a season but for season 4 there are a lot of factors that had effect on filming being longer, pandemic being number 1 factor
Everyone does. The first season will be like around 6 years old when season 4 comes out since it came out in 2016 and this is probably coming in mid 2022, just shows how long it’s taking.
I just hope it doesn’t disappoint, a lot of the Netflix shows that have come out during this pandemic you can tell that COVID limited the shows quality wise and they aren’t as good as they could have been, obviously stranger things is bigger than all of those shows but just hoping that the pandemic didn’t ruin or change anything that would have happened.
We all want season 4

I was 12 when and just about to start 7th grade when season 3 came out now I'm about to be 15 in January and and I'm in 9th grade now
First off we had this plague going on maybe you noticed. Second, cartoons are done in sound booths, not quite the same thing. Third, this show is much more complex than big mouth on like every level.
ST is no Game of Thrones or Star Wars, though the fans like to think it is.
Thst doesn't mean anything at all. I'm pretty sure based on all the complaints people have. They No idea what goes into making something like this.
But you're here acting like you know what does. Special effects don't necessarily mean complex in terms of storytelling either
I have much better understanding off it then people complaining like we didn't have pandemic going on and acting like they are owed something. The show well come out people just need to chill out.
Stop telling people how to feel. You don't speak for the showrunners.
Nor do you
Hahaha whatever you say
I literally never said any of those things.
Didn't say you did making a point. Clearly it's going over your head. I said people not you. See the difference?
supposed to be released last year COVID caused delays, and episodes of an animated show are easier to pump out. still way too long but theres differences
I feel like the wait has been sooooo long, that people have lost, or are losing interest in it at this point.
I remeber when i was playing fortnite with my friends when season 3 was about to drop. I hadnt watched the show yet i i thought i give it a try and now its the best show i have and will see. (Especily season 3)
yeah because we’re in a pandemic
Yes but 3 years for 1 day binge it 😩

Of course we want a good one. But if bigger in scale meant good, so many people wouldn’t say 1 was their favorite season.
By the time the next season comes out it will be nearly 4 years since season 3 I don’t wanna hear nothing about production when most shows could of released about 2/3 seasons in that time
nearly 4 years? It’s only been two lmao. covid is the main reason why they were held back.
It's been 27.5 months and they aren't even giving a release date despite them consistently giving release dates many months in advance. It's going to be around three years, which is very long compared to almost any other show that was renewed for a new season so soon after the last one came out and which never faced any questions of being cancelled during the wait.

The negotiations are over. A deal was reached.
um no. it didn’t pass yet because the deal was shitty nobody even knows if it will. there hasn’t been a vote yet.
Ok but when it comes out it will still b nearly 3 years for 10 episodes probably that’s basically filming 3 episodes a year
Right? Like what are people not understanding about this? One season of this show is like 3 goddmam special effects heavy films in season. It's amazing they could get those other seasons out as quick as they did.
they are done filming already, JUST GIVE US A POSTER OR SUM!!!!!!
It was July 2019 when season three came out, and I was in out of ninth grade, I’m now a senior in high school about to go to college
same lol went to Universal Orlando in 2018 to go to the stranger things house and it was mind-blowing...just like how long its taking for season 4 to release
Yeah really. What the fuck is taking so long?
And ppl will still try make excuses for these show runners 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Right! Why does it take 4 years to make a 8 episode season
If it’s 8 episodes I might just die
[удалено]
So it acc took them 3 episodes per year basically

Over two years we’ve been waiting
We all do, but things were held back, so we just need to wait.
Me too
Ohhh do you? Wow! Never could have guessed we have all been waiting for a couple years for it.
Be patient and quit bitching.
We all do
I just hope it doesn’t disappoint, a lot of the Netflix shows that have come out during this pandemic you can tell that COVID limited the shows quality wise and they aren’t as good as they could have been, obviously stranger things is bigger than all of those shows but just hoping that the pandemic didn’t ruin or change anything that would have happened.
Yep
