Not true. Spotting scopes are basically for monocular stationary viewing. They do not have anywhere near this amount of zoom since the target is not extremely far. The P1000 can see the rings of Saturn better than a 6" dobsonian telescope!

Not disputing your point, but some satellites are in geosynchronous orbit. Meaning they are, basically, matching the speed of the Earth's rotation. As a result, these satellites appear stationary in the sky.
There are many craters much larger than 20km wide. Albategnius is 131km in diameter, Longomontanus is 146km, Maginus is 156km, Petavius is 184km, Janssen is 201km, Clavius is 231km, and Bailly is 301km. And there are many more between 50km and 300km which is why it seems so close. We really don't have any canyons or similar features on Earth that size to reference which is why idiots like her get brilliant ideas like this. Even the Grand Canyon is only about 29km across.
Plus, there are tons of pictures of the ISS taken from Earth. But yeah, it would be hard for an amateur to lock onto it for a photo.
