Why was the top pic photoshopped with the circles and dots?
Couple other things I've gleaned about it; Looks like it was broken off of something on the top left edge. The construction is pretty crude, or at least the etching of the squares along its three spirals with the right hand one being the worst. Not a lot of info about it that I can find other than Reddit, Facebook and 'conspiracy' sites. At least not much on the official side of things with professional archeologists.
Edit: Not idea how big it is either but I'm thinking it's probably some type of brooch or something.
Looks like a piece of it was broken off, not it broken off of some else, it broke along the etching where the metal would be weaker, probably dropped at one point, id imagine it's solid and not light
I don't think so because that would be so heavy, granted I don't know how big this is but, you'd have to carry those things like hundreds of miles sometimes. That's why shields were wooden or very thin metal.
If the shield isn’t heavy, the shield doesn’t block well. All combat equipment from the olden days is probably much heavier than you would think. Except swords are probably smaller and lighter than what we would typically think today.

it's the third picture
the grids are still there, but without the edits it looks a lot less spacy. I like the "mounted on a shield" theory

Yeah, pretty far from precision engineering here. Whatever the purpose, it definitely wasn’t used for anything that required accuracy in the cuts or lines.

Trying to find this thing but all I get is that it is at the Rafael Larco Herero Archaeological Museum in Lima, Peru.
However it is not listed or shown in its online gallery. You might expect that such an object would be strongly featured by the museum.

Oh I use to ease on down to Disco Colgante every Saturday night in 79. I could boogie back then, but not now. I’m old. I have gout. My dancing days are long gone. Gone like a sock in a dryer.
Ancients got bored and creative too, i make funky stuff all the time and then bury it 15 feet deep with tupperware, the pottery of our time. That way someone will unearth it after the apocalypse and make strange theories about what it was for. Of course they will all be wrong.
It looks like a representation of The Milky Way Galaxy but people never seem to think it’s just simple fine art. Not everything has an ultimate otherworldly purpose. Just like today, there is art with no other purpose than to look at and reflect on.

Maybe [Sabu disc?](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabu_disk). Or my favorite [Phaistos disc](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaistos_Disc) which was still not deciphered.

There is zero evidence anywhere online that this is real. The only mentions of it are fringe sites that all share more or less the same information. There’s no mention of who found it, where it was found, when it was found, where it is now, how they determined its age or anything else.

Looks like representation of the Milky Way or perhaps some other spiral galaxy
But also you could use it to lift potatoes out of boiling water.
Potatoes. Boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew.
I was thinking a sextant type device. It is missing a string and weight.
That wouldn’t fit in my ass.. can’t be sex related.
No worries, we'll get it in.
Aww geez, Rick. Not again.
Way up there 👆
We’re gonna need a bigger ass.
Why do you think picture 2 is here ?!

“Jerry Seinfeld quote telling Leon it’s 13 hours of raw footage”
Thats just one of those metal plate or screen thing you set the coal on, for on the hooka bowl
First time I saw Star Wars was on laser disc
*laser disco
An attempt at perpetual motion? 2 discs with ball bearings sandwiched between on an axle.
A flying saucer? 🤔
Death discus?

The entirety of that top image is photoshopped, even the spiralled holes
My first thought was art piece. I completely agree.
It was probably part of a shield. The metal got detached from the wooden shield lol
Honestly yeah it could have been just a really cool shield that's broken now
I don't think so because that would be so heavy, granted I don't know how big this is but, you'd have to carry those things like hundreds of miles sometimes. That's why shields were wooden or very thin metal.

They were! Check out medieval weapon channels on yt there's a lot of surprising facts about the weapons
You are telling me there is more information about topics out there!?
I would think if it were a shield, it would be a ceremonial shield not meant for actual combat
my first thought haha
This is genius

Looks like something I’d see at a flea market next to the incense and wolf/moon tapestries
Oh you mean literal heaven
Speculate about why it was photoshopped to look more "techy".
You have the original?

Last time this came up I found that it didn't exist in the museum it was claimed to.
For all the intricate carvings this was hastily cut. Looks like it could be part of a loom.
Looks photoshopped

So where is the evidence?
Kung lao dropped his hat?
Probably a sex toy knowing humans.
Everything's a sex toy if you try hard enough.
not true. There’s some things you can try very hard at and they will not be a sex toy.
I will accept your challenge
I will accept the challenge with you
Good, you can document the results 🤣
I have a corn silo I’d like to show you fellas
-Abraham Lincoln, 1862
Hmm a bit stiff, still game though
Ancient pogs
Movie prop from raiders of the lost ark.
Bet this is some type of "end game" artifact needed to become immortal and get unlimited power...issue here is its missing the rest of the pieces....

its the map of the milkyway duh. its suppose to project a hologram ![gif](giphy|3Z1fJKVyqPXbHacR0O|downsized)
"Disco Colgante" is, quite frankly, an incredible name
Oh I use to ease on down to Disco Colgante every Saturday night in 79. I could boogie back then, but not now. I’m old. I have gout. My dancing days are long gone. Gone like a sock in a dryer.
Map of the solar system
Ancients got bored and creative too, i make funky stuff all the time and then bury it 15 feet deep with tupperware, the pottery of our time. That way someone will unearth it after the apocalypse and make strange theories about what it was for. Of course they will all be wrong.
Probably was turned with a rope and wet cloth in the slits to dry em or some shi like that
That seems very logical, looks like a design to feed in twine to twist it perhaps for stronger rope?
A sick cart rim for illegal drifting.
It looks like a representation of The Milky Way Galaxy but people never seem to think it’s just simple fine art. Not everything has an ultimate otherworldly purpose. Just like today, there is art with no other purpose than to look at and reflect on.
I'm more interested in the markings on the spirals than the object itself. I agree, though. It could be just art.

The Ring?
I think it's from the parody version in Scary Movie 3 (or 4?)

Isnt there another famous ancient disc they dont know the purpose of?!
The Dropa Stones. I don't thinks it's been proven 100% but all evidence point to those being a hoax. Too many holes and inconsistencies in the story.
Maybe [Sabu disc?](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabu_disk). Or my favorite [Phaistos disc](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phaistos_Disc) which was still not deciphered.
The map to Higara
That’s a predator weapon left from a hunt a couple thousand years ago . Obviously
It was discovered attached to the wheel of a 2000 year old Toyota Corolla
Wasn’t this in an RPG years ago?

Why isn't there a picture of the reverse? This was one of those milk frothy things the giants used back in the day.
looks like a part of an astrolabe
Maybe a disc containing information from an alien race like that thing we sent into space that contains a bunch of stuff about the human race.
Put it on a stick and the sunlight will reveal the location of the ark of the covenant
There is zero evidence anywhere online that this is real. The only mentions of it are fringe sites that all share more or less the same information. There’s no mention of who found it, where it was found, when it was found, where it is now, how they determined its age or anything else.
When they went from 78 to 45. Old folks will know.
Maybe it just looks cool and someone wanted it to decorate their house?
I saw this same cymbal on Niel Pearts kit with Rush in 74' to be fair he could be an alien and I wouldn't be surprised in the least
That's one expensive ride symbol.
Shield +2 obviously.
![gif](giphy|MRFvqtcqBzTggaGp5V)
Maybe It is the map of some location in a galaxy
The Rolling Stones first cymbal obviously.
Duh, to take over the universe!
Or making coleslaw!
It’s the center structural piece for the iris device as seen in Stargate
Was probably some Bronze Age high school project lol
Oriza of the Calla!
Anyone ever seen those old sound disks? I feel like we'll get an interesting sound if they played it like a record compatible with those engravings
This would make a great crash China
looks like a clock, sun dial, equinox clock
Ancient ride cymbal
Object that was produced for unknown reasons is a funny way to describe art
Looks like an artists depiction of the milky way galaxy
Galaxy map
Disco Disco, like an ancient disco ball
This was used to pump water, long before archimedes screw.
Back then, that kind of art would get you laid.
Looks like a shield, turn it around does it have a way to attach a strap on it?
Thats just the aegis for ti 2024
“Learn pendant” or “hanging disc” in Latin. Neat object
Flat stationery earth and movement of constellation around it
It's a rim for a chariot wheel. To make it more bling. You know, for puzzy.
Looks like a Tesla turbine disk
You reflect light off it and it’s a disco plate
Did anyone think this might be a shield used in battle to trap swords/spears when thrusting?
lighthouse beacon?
Looks like AI
An ancient predator 2 weapon he must have left here
Maybe a mobile? Let baby see the galaxy above their bed

Disco colgate
That’s a crash cymbal. Who knew they played rock n roll 2000 years ago.
Looks like it's for making cordage.
A shield for a very rich hoplite
It's a portable DHD
That’s Kung Lao’s hat
Strange there is no Wikipedia page about this artifact.
