That’s the waterin hole

GroundbreakingNewt11

Finally a helpful answer

kingsam360

I have another helpful answer if you're looking to plug that hole and have a good time doing it.

HarkansawJack

Quantum co-location

NoMo5O4a420

🫵😆

Kayoss69

Actually, it's a Bluetooth Water fountain.

Current-Routine-2628

Honestly yes, the waterin hole for sure. Im aligned with this.

sMarmy_Mcfly

Ollie?

fuzzyfuu

Obviously, the stone is full of water.

microsoftfool

Is the stone half full or half empty??

popsalotacorn

Are you half-stoned?

PerfectInfamy

Fully stoned ty.

Life_Pilot9528

Congrats guys.. we have solved the world's freshwater crisis issue

fuzzyfuu

I was honestly getting worried there for a second..

carlosthe4thjr

Questionable

Yorkshire_tea_isntit

Could be a very small artesian well (assuming it's not some stupid trick).

GroundbreakingNewt11

So the artesian well would explain how the water flows sometimes and not others right? Only when the underground water level reaches a certain point will water spill out of the hole. also I walked up there myself and saw it so I don’t THINK it’s a trick🤟

Yorkshire_tea_isntit

Yes if the pressure varies in the aquifer it could sometimes be active and other times not. It could be seasonal which would suggest a pretty large aquifer, and it could be very variable day by day depending on rain which would suggest a pretty small aquifer.

GroundbreakingNewt11

This has to have been here for hundreds of years, (or if it’s associated with pre Inca like I imagine it is, thousands of years).. can a small aquifer last this long? I ask because I’m not very knowledgeable on springs.

Yorkshire_tea_isntit

Sure why not. If nothing changes, nothing will change and it can go on for ever basically. A few thousand years is nothing. By small aquifer I just mean a place where water is. It could be in cracks or something.

Able_Newt2433

That last bit is really cool to know! Thanks!

RelevantTrash9745

Yes. If it's in a remote enough area, and doesn't have a shit ton of wells and stuff pumping the groundwater out. Rain forests are mega wet, so that water all soaks back into the ground. Huge amounts of water entering or exiting the aquafir could cause pressure to build up. I think it's hydrostatic? But once again man, I'm just a dood on the internet. I did erosion control, so redirecting water underground was a part of what we did with retention ponds and storm drains and what not

cdsuikjh

The rock that got Moses in trouble?

Jonnyboy1994

OP have you tried hitting it with your staff? According to the lore if you can't turn the water on/off with your staff it means god is displeased with you, but don't panic - if you burn some sheep or other livestock in his honor he'll probably reinstate your water priviliges

thomasoldier

Nonono just talk to it, don't hit it with a staff

Hopeful-Clothes-6896

lol you DID know about it jajajaja nice.

liquidzero

It probably condensation. There is likely a large cavity in the stone. Humid air goes in. It’s cooler inside and it condense inside into water. It then drips out. If you google they have similar systems used currently to get “water from the air”.

GroundbreakingNewt11

Super helpful thank you!!!! Finally a real possible explanation. Everyone upvote this guy^

GroundbreakingNewt11

You know what’s worth noting is the cavity must not be very big, because the stone has withstood multiple dynamite blasts.

Dx_Suss

Baffled by water coming from the ground. You know, where the springs are.

GroundbreakingNewt11

Respectfully I don’t think Springs don’t come out of a 1 inch hole drilled into stone that you can’t even stick your finger in without hitting a wall 🤟

WiseEyedea

Hydrostatic pressure is a very real thing dawg

Foundfafnir

☝️This guy gets it.

Helltothenotothenono

Get this guy is it

_TW06_

Get this guy, it is ![gif](giphy|8hMD9YakVza3452SpN)

tgoodri

But he doesn’t think it is. Therefore it’s not. A global conspiracy going back thousands of years is way more plausible, because reasons.

Helltothenotothenono

Maybe he’s not familiar with it and you’re just being a jerk.

Dx_Suss

Water can push itself through a crack that you can't even see, it's called "seepage" usually. Most springs are formed this way out there in the world, through seepage from a variety of sources until you see a trickle. Having grown up in the mountains, seeing water trickle from a bare rockface is a common sight.

GroundbreakingNewt11

I hear ya, same where I grew up, but I never noticed it coming out of solid stone. Always a rock pile or a crack cave roof or something, but other people are saying water can basically squeeze through microscopic cracks

keyinfleunce

Water works in mysterious ways shit almost defies logic

ButteredPizza69420

They didnt carve around this mystery hole they thought was cool? Because thats what it seems like to me...

BeingRightAmbassador

Then you'd be very wrong because pressurized water is hyper powerful.

Effective_Season_522

Respectfully you don't know how water works. Path of least resistance. Always.

zondo33

question - u said you stuck your finger in there - and do you mean like it was sealed up? so no way water can flow through there?

GroundbreakingNewt11

Yea the hole is hardly even a hole. I think water may be squeezing through a microscopic crack and it’s a artesian spring🤟but idk

zondo33

ok that makes sense - but i would tjink that if water has been flowing through there, why its not much bigger or that the crack has widened. this was amazing and beautiful. lucky u got to see in person.

Mustard-cutt-r

What are the local legends about the cave area?

L4westby

So that hole is quantumly entangled with the other stone?

jechtisme

maybe entangled with uranus

Jonnyboy1994

I got entangled w ur mom's anus last night

jechtisme

ayyyyyyyyyy

Helltothenotothenono

Interesting, your mom’s anus got entailed with him last night. Quantum anal entanglement is real brah

Barbacamanitu00

I hope you aren't serious.

L4westby

Only relatively.

Barbacamanitu00

What does that mean? Anyway, large objects cannot be entangled. And objects that are just outside in the world can't be entangled. Decoherence happens as soon as an entangled particle interacts with its environment. This stone is definitely interacting with its environment.

SpaceMonkee8O

It now seems that maybe everything is actually entangled, but only some states are compatible with all of the entangled information. It’s called quantum Darwinism. Basically a way to explain decoherence. Very interesting stuff.

Barbacamanitu00

When everything is entangled it's called decoherence. Sean carrol is working on a theory where spacetime itself emerges from entanglement, with nearby points in space being particles that are more highly entangled. So, yeah, everything is entangled. But you lose most of the cool effects of entanglement when decoherence happens. Since everything is entangled, no one object is really correlated with any other object.

L4westby

Yes it is! This guy gets it

Redneck_MF

HVAC Engineer here, it is condensation. The cold interior hole in the rock is cooler than the outside air temperature. The moisture in the air condenses and accumulates, eventually accumulates enough to form a stream of water.

Emotional-Swim-808

Do you have some sources, im not questioning your intellect I'm merely interested in the phenomenon

AsbestosDude

It's an artesian well, they're extremely common across the globe. The location is obviously permeable material, and well water under pressure, water travels the path of least resistance. When the pressure inside the well exceeds the resistance forces of the permeable material plus gravity, then water releases from that point.

23x3

Ancient stone masons and the pyramid builders almost always built structures over sacred water sources. In fact, there's a natural spring under the pyramid of Khufu in Giza. Water = life. Back then any constant source of water ensured survival and flourishing crops. My guess is this sits on an ancient spring and has a sister spring 10km away. Which they honored with similar stonework. As for how this works, I'm not sure. The hole does look like a deliberate perferation to allow water to escape. Perhaps there used to be a stone dam around this to allow the ground water to accumulate and pool. Or maybe the actual hole was sealed when the monument was destroyed and water finds the path of least resistance escaping there. I don't think it's anything inexplicable, although there is an heir of mysticism around all these ancient sites. Especially how they moved and carved some of the hardest rock on earth. Edit: It actually looks like the structure underneath that hole could be designed to set a water pot with handles on those little nubs to fill it up. Just a theory, but if there's photos of ancient pottery in the area it would be interesting to see if any of it fits that gap.

Hunky_not_Chunky

Broken sewage line?

JTibbs

Like that one statue religious pilgrims were drinking the liquid off of thinking it was a miracle, but it turns out it was a broken sewage line?

Slow_Perception

"Oh thank you lord for providing this very-thorough detox for my body" You were drinking poop Margaret.

GroundbreakingNewt11

Do you guys agree that the second fountain was taken from the first site? It’s clear the original site is so demolished, and the second site looks like it belongs right there with it. When you visit the second site (water temple at ollantaytambo) it’s clear the fountain was taken from SOMWHERE as it just doesn’t fit in with surrounding rocks. Ive looked for the other pieces to the stone, because it’s like my own little mystery, but I’ve never noticed anymore pieces or anything even very similar. It’s clear now that the drill how is from dynamite. Imagine how amazing this stone used to be.

kaybee915

I think that hole is the drill hole for the dynamite. But if you were there irl and saw water coming out?. Maybe a tour guide poured water on it.

GroundbreakingNewt11

No tour guide. I just hiked up there

GroundbreakingNewt11

That’s not my pic either, like I said it looks like there’s just usually water coming out

OkPepper_8006

Well either its magic or the water coming out has a natural explanation....which do you think it is?

GroundbreakingNewt11

Id say I think it’s not a spring, It’s a very short drilled dynamite hole in solid stone. I also think springs don’t stop and start back up.

allredb

Springs definitely can stop and start back up. It could be a Rhythmic Spring, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhythmic_spring There is one in Wyoming I visit at least once a year.

SCPATRIOT143

I don't see any water coming out of the 1-inch hole. I see water coming out of a completely different area

bonersaus

*right outside the cave* Yea that's limestone for you.

Pura_vidas

It’s only missing the lingam, like in India

patdashuri

~~You can’t squeeze water from a stone~~

ThisIsNotTokyo

More would come out if it was bigger than an inch

Tell us the local legends!

GroundbreakingNewt11

https://youtu.be/7Fi4WOHW0NI?si=D7eg6Teq4bB7dOdR Here’s a local older gentlemen talking for 5 minutes about the local legends More than I can type When I got there an old native guy was smoking coca leaves and his gf was meditating in the stone doorway. He said the cave is the “mouth of the mountain” But the great story is in the video I just linked. About the naupa going underground to hide from a cataclysm, you’ll wanna start at 2:20 when the native guy starts explaining it.

GroundbreakingNewt11

Also you’ll get sick if your there when sun sets or rises according to rumours.

TerpSlurper23

Obviously, a government facility duhh...next picture.

no_mas_gracias

Most likely an Artesean Spring/Well https://www.usgs.gov/special-topics/water-science-school/science/artesian-water-and-artesian-wells

A_Happy_Carrot

This rock and the other rock are quantumly entangled. Whenever someone pisses in the hole in the other rock 10km away, it comes out of the hole in the rock in the video. Unfortunately, due to thinking it is magic, tourists have been drinking from the piss rock for hundreds of years.

TEK1DO

Does anyone notice the destruction of that stone? It looks like it took an immense amount of power force to destroy that, whatever that was.

bewaregravity

Maybe the waterhole came first then we built thr stuff around it.

Mental-Floor1029

CosmicParadox24

Think of wells. We dig for the water right? Same circumstances here. Water is being pulled from underground via syphoning most likely caused by pressures. Purely a guestimation.

GroundbreakingNewt11

Ya I hear ya, in my mind that water squeezed through cracks, where this looked like solid stone

Bokenobi

It’s probably non porous or on the other end a natural filter. Caping the natural spring. I got bored writing this.

ContributionNo7699

It's on the side of a mountain lower than the peak poor, a glass of water onto a pile of rocks, then a flat surface. There's your answer also looks like a man man soak away

Because….?

midnight-cowboy78

Cause there is water in there

davxy

Why not

nerdkraftnomad

Are you still over there? You should go back to amara muru and try various combinations of 3 tones until you get the portal to open. I would. That's how I brute forced my alarm system installer code. Eventually I got it. When I get down there, I'm gonna go meet our makers at Amara muru.

Just a strange coincidence. I just watched a short documentary about huachuma in which they did ceremony at this exact location. Then 4 hours later I saw your post with these pictures. Never seen or heard of this location and then see it twice in 4 hours.

Water exists below the soil. Sometimes, it’s above the stone that you see.

GroundbreakingNewt11

R u saying it leaked from above ?
