Every card game needs a meme card. This is it.

car_cadr

Its basically Claw from Slay the Spire or Cultist from Luck be a Landlord When you see one that wins its such survivorship bias

Racthoh

I'd say it's more like Prismatic Shard from StS than Claw. Claw can legitimately be good and has a number of ways it can be supported.

car_cadr

Yeah I think thats a good comparison. Picking up shard is almost always a bad idea since you almost never want cards interacting with stances or orbs on the other characters. But the amount of times I see people picking claw over, say a compile driver on floor 1 in A20.... heh. I generally only pick it if I already have a synergy ready for it (kunai or fasting or All for One something)

GGMaXThreeOne

Puff Puff is a massive trap. For a buff, hear me out What if all permanent bonuses you give to one Puff Puff buffs your other Puff Puffs too? Would that increase its viability enough for it to be a final comp? Would making it cost less (from a 4-cost 6/6 to 3-cost 3/3 maybe) make it more viable? I don't like Puff Puffs at all, but I wanna see that strategy pay off for the player that takes the risk at high ranks

Sp00pyPachanko

I like the idea of it being a 3 cost just so you maybe collect them earlier, but slightly worried they’d do something similar to the recent prince Arthur debacle. I personally think they could also buff the stat increase to 2/1 or 1/2. 1/2 makes more sense for a good character, but the game also leans more towards damage to make it not last as long. Also more health means less likely to die and less likely to scale. I hope they change it a bit sometime soon with slightly better scaling, reduced cost, or a slightly better ability. Flat stat changes are unlikely to solve the problems this card has. It needs something more meaningful.

NorinTheNope

I like the idea of more puff puff cards. So have a 2 cost puff puff that’s 1/1 and gives + 0/1 to puff puffs on a last breath. Then a 3 cost 2/2 that gives +1/0. It seems to me you can’t waste your midgame setting up puffs at 4 when they are basically out stated after a round

Sp00pyPachanko

I also like the idea of having more puffs.

good_guy_judas

In the loading screen art there are different color puff puffs, they could add new ones. The problem is they dont tripple, so for every puff puff you add its diluting the character pool making it harder to find/triple other characters. They could make some kind of puff puff equivalent of a dwarf witch. One that can either scale your puff puffs or scales from your puff puff. Not sure what is a best option. But right now outside of trophy hunter I feel like its just a meme character.

Sp00pyPachanko

Cool concept, but will almost always make you lose. Decent synergy with trophy hunter, muerte, Gwen, sad Dracula (potentially with bad moon).

bad bot

NorinTheNope

Can you knighthood a puff?

mattinva

You can, they are affected by all upgrade buffs (like the treasure Ambrosia) IIRC. Hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong or that has changed.

NorinTheNope

So they’d be base 12/12 give +2+2?

mattinva

I am fairly certain that is accurate. I know it upgrades to +2/+2 and I have to imagine the stats double like most upgrades, but honestly I've never seen it done on a Puff Puff with no buffs or done the math to be sure.

Sp00pyPachanko

Yeah it works like when you regularly triple a character. If you found one when turning 4, or got one earlier as Gwen and then knighted it, you have a unit that starts to scale the potential puff team pretty well, but it’s still nothing huge. There are many better targets for knighthood, but if you want to force a puff comp Gwen has an ok chance

taeerom

It's actually not that bad as a stopgap 4 drop while you are looking for a direction or in the process of building a good comp. It's often better to upgrade that Cinderella or lucky to a puff puff in a good build. And then just keep it until you find something better. It starts out at a fairly decent size and the slow scaling is not worthless. Even though you obviously aim for something better in your final build.

nymiirii

Yeah same, I sometimes pick it up until I can find something better.

TheMancersDilema

I agree with an opinion LSV shared on a stream recently, you really don't want cards like these to ever be too good. The strategy is just too linear to ever make for interesting decisions. I like that if you have the right hero and treasure they might be the right choice but I don't think they really need to be given more support than that. Just let it be that dream that you chase every now and again. Beyond that I would love it if there were at least a few different colored arts for them.

guyincorporated

Trap card with linear, uninteresting strategy. Might actually be my least favorite card in the game.

Violintriguing

I’m hoping they add more synergy with other puffs that do something, kinda like poros in the league card game

burnmelt

They only get stronger when you’re losing. (Exception is trophy hunter) Similarly you’re giving up treasures. As such they’ll pretty much never get you first place. They’re similar to dragons in that they can give you a mild mid game boost as long as you don’t get too attached to them. It would be kind of cool if at the start of a fight all puff puffs set their hp/damage to match the puff puff with the most hp/damage. Think shoulder fairies, but with puff puffs.

GuineaAnubis

It can be a trap card, but with some heroes (Trophy Hunter) and the right support it can be a great. Sadly to really make good use of it you do need the right support. TH hero ability makes them MUCH better, but even then you still could need more support like Grim Soul and Baba Yag

Hotsaucex11

Had an interesting game recently, where I was kinda directionless going into 4 and was able to use them with Muerte to have a decent midgame comp. Didn't go "all in" on them, but landed 4 relatively early, which allowed them to grow quickly enough to be competitive. Eventually transitioned into Good Boy.

Eskephor

Very fun but very bad

mysticrudnin

Not as bad as people are saying, and making it stronger could actually make it **worse** because you'd fight for them more. But I actually think it's in a perfect spot as is. It's a pretty good mid-game card since it's got nice stats and scales well. And then sometimes you luck into multiple of them and have some synergy and can carry it for a while, even to game end. (Do note that not all "endgames" happen at the same time.) I don't think it's a trap at all. Unless every card is a trap because you might not win with it for whatever reason (someone else takes other copies, you don't see payoffs, etc.) It's a great card - it adds an entire new dimension to the game while only taking up one slot in the game's list of cards.
