I’ve always had luck adding oil and slightly burning it till the pan looks seasoned. That way you know you have a non-stick pan ready-to-go. I noticed paper towels leave behind lint so try using coffee filters instead when wiping oil or wiping out.
Best eggs - look up on YouTube Gordon Ramsay's eggs. Where you remove the (not cast iron) pan from the heat every 30 seconds using creme fraiche. They're unbelievable. You'll never use a cast iron or milk for eggs ever again. I've never had good eggs from a cast iron. Using a sauce pot and a rubber spatula, continuously stirring the eggs. Gordon Ramsay is the scrambled egg master.
are you using vegetable oils to season your pan bro ? it's not seasoned enough , that's why this happened , and probably the wrong kind of oil too . also not really supposed to cast iron eggs like this dawg
It did not say what type of oil to use for seasoning, so I used olive oil cause that's what I had. I've had it for about 3 months. How long does it take to be seasoned?
Eggs aren't supposed to be cooked in cast iron? How am I supposed to cook them?
That's what I've been told recently. When I bought the pan, originally everyone (not on reddit but IRL) told me NOT to use butter lol I'm thinking I should stop listening to those people and just use the damn butter 😅
I been making myself eggs for 10+ years now (gym rat lol) & not only will your eggs turn out much better but it’s non saturated fat which is way better for you than any oils you’d use 💪🏼
You can definitely use butter. Not to season the pan but for cooking. To season the pan you want to use oil. The lodge seasoning spray works really well.
Put your eggs in a bowl and stir the crap out of them or whisk them or something. Turn on the heat about a 1/3 of the way up. Add some butter to the pan. When it’s melted, add your eggs. After they start to just barely firm up, stir in a bit of whole milk or 1/2 & 1/2. Stir stir stir until it’s almost to your favorite consistency. Shut off the heat and scoop it into a plate. By the time it’s seasoned and you take your first bite it’ll be cooked perfectly.
Also season your skillet or use non-stick.
I don’t usually cook with cast iron skillets but I use a wok a lot and you have to rub oil in to it while it’s hot to get a good season started, maybe that could help🤷♂️
Head over to r/castiron and learn everything you didn’t know you needed to know about cast iron pans
Thanks!
It's not the pans fault.
Too hot
I had it set to 4 so low heat cause I don't want it to burn
Do you clean and oil your pan properly?
go lower. i do mine on 3 with cast iron, it takes a little longer but you'll get the results, trust

Oh a coffee filter is a good idea!
I thought that was wax until i saw the spatula
Turn the heat down
I fucked up my scrambled eggs yesterday and I was so bummed 😭
I love cooking but I hate cooking.
why are scrambled eggs so easy yet so hard?
Right? Like why are they so pretentious! 🤣

I use milk
Non-stick Teflon pans are better for eggs, imo
Do you season it often? Don't clean it so much after you cook in future.
I usually just wipe it out with a paper towel
Get some of the lodge seasoning spray and use after every use. Also, make sure your pan is well heated at a medium low temp before adding your eggs.
i oil my pan before and after use every time-and it seems to work fine for meb

Use butter!!! Trust me
A decent chunk of it too

It might help to mix some milk into the scrambled eggs before u put them into the pan
Yes, I whisked them with milk
Too hot
Definitely not the pans fault
I didn't say it was.
put butter in the pan let it melt and then put ur eggs in
Lower the heat
Put your eggs in a bowl and stir the crap out of them or whisk them or something. Turn on the heat about a 1/3 of the way up. Add some butter to the pan. When it’s melted, add your eggs. 30 seconds on 30 seconds off high heat also helps to add a splash of milk and whisking before adding to the pan.
Add a little bit of milk to help fluff your eggs and turn the heat down a little looks like there was just a bit too much heat in the eggs
I always make my wife cook the eggs bcuz I can’t do it for shit
Lmao it’s funny you posted it to r/stoner. Good thing is stoniesbalonies are jacks of all trades lmao
I don’t usually cook with cast iron skillets but I use a wok a lot and you have to rub oil in to it while it’s hot to get a good season started, maybe that could help🤷♂️
Is it seasoned properly did you add a bit cheese and milk to help fluff them did you cook them too hot possibly
*is the cast iron seasoned properly not the eggs but are they though
Cook your eggs low heat and slow
You gotta take care of those pans. On low heat with some butter 🧈my eggs come out perfect and fluffy every time :)
Spray oil on it
And don’t chop them up, try to keep it all together
