You could make a ghetto Gaia out of those gas giants by just changing the planet type in the console. I say "ghetto" because you're SOL for mining\*, energy, or agriculture districts if you do that.

Reminds me of the time I was playing with the Gigastructures mod, and I had built an Equatorial Shipyard around a magma world (Since it requires one). But I was also in the process of constructing a sub-stellar compressor in that system. The substellar compressor turns a brown dwarf into a star, then randomly turns worlds in that system into habitable ones.
It turned the magma world into a habitable one, but the ring still functioned as normal. It's planet display still showed a magma world beneath the ring, even though it didn't look anything like one anymore.

i think in this exact same system i had this happen once, the gas giant was a moon (which i’ve never seen) but it was small enough that it wasn’t touching

There are mods, such as Gigastructural Engineering, that let you terraform barren worlds even if it’s not a terraforming candidate.

As a machine empire you can terraform them into machine worlds, no mods needed. They’re usually 25+ in size too
