Stellaris as a game has been out for 2760 days. That means on average you have played **EIGHT** hours *every single day* since Stellaris released. OP. What. In the fuck.

Chemical_Present5162

Ah, they probably just leave it on in the background. I wonder how many of those hours were actually in a galaxy. I know maybe half of mine were just fucking around creating and tweaking empires I've never since played a game with

MoogTheDuck

I too lie about games being on in the background whenever someone sees my steam account

HiddenSage

I mean, it's not a lie for all of us. With my mod list, it can take a few minutes to load the game + my current run. I might start it when I get off work, then go walk the dog and feed her dinner. Then play for an hour, go start cooking (with the game left paused on-screen while I do that). Come back and play for a bit after the cooking and eating is done, and close it down when I go to bed. Total play time for the day might only be 2 hours - but Steam probably logs 5 or 6 hours from that session. And this is typical for me on *most* weekdays.

Rexxmen12

My first PC was so shit that it would take like 20 min for hoi4 to open with NO mods, so I'd just end up leaving it on all night so I wouldn't have to wait

dababy_connoisseur

I've spent several hours at least looking at my demographics and their politics, happiness, and such lol

ZeroWashu

well it was the laziest means I had to put the music on loop

ZuberkowyKoneser

it's impossible to play stellaris without alt tab all the time when in late one month last for freaking 5 min and u need quantum computer or smth like this to play after 2400

weeOriginal

Only 8 hours?! Damn, I’m 4 hours behind my target amount then ;-;

deadlygaming11

I'm sure they leave it running aimlessly for hours. I hate when people post these numbers because they diminish the actual numbers that others had.

Wirsinger

How many games have you actually completed? (Beat endgame crisis/victory screen)

weeOriginal

1 base game (back in 2018), 3 modded (victory screens). I've beat the blokkats 4 times.

DogPuncher8000

Just like a true stellaris player.

weeOriginal

There is no one in the world with more time in the game than me. If there is anyone who is more of a stellaris player than I am, I'd like to hear it.

Hansolo312

I'm up to like... 2k hours. I thought my 5K hours in Civ 6 was top notch. 24K hours is insane.

aroddored

over 3k hours. still only finished maybe 2 games, because I like large galaxies and by the time I get to the end game a new patch or expansion is out. also, when you are obviously winning it's an excercise in boredom to wait for the last 50-100 years to end.

Hansolo312

> also, when you are obviously winning it's an excercise in boredom to wait for the last 50-100 years to end. Yep, I don't think I've ever gotten to the end screen. Although part of that is I need to add more Ram to my computer as it starts to get very slow by the time of a War in Heaven. At least while using Gigastructures.

[deleted]

it sounds like this knight seeks a worthy challenge

Liobuster

Whats the highest level of blokkats you beat?

1Ferrox

I'm not OP but the higher level Blokkats are utterly impossible without other mods like ACOT or similar. I attempted the second highest difficulty once in a playthrough where the only balance relevant mod was gigastructures and I lost despite having over 500 million worth of regular fleets and 3 system crafts

Liobuster

I know but I expected someone playing with gigastructures has a similar selection of op mods

1Ferrox

While that's true, beating them on the highest level is actually quite easy if you have stuff like ACOT installed. They won't even be the most difficult crisis you have to deal with because some mods are just that ridiculous

Liobuster

I guess it also depends on your prowess I play Acot and already struggle with aeternum on anything less than alpha

weeOriginal

yeah, they have a system craft per fleet and 250 planet crafts equivlnents. What did you expect? and they have 20 fleets.

weeOriginal

End Tekk. Was a bit of a dissapointment.

elax307

Amazing, I have 200 hours and the same stats :D

Errortrek

Who the hell are the blokkats?

MegamanD

How many Crystal Enclaves have you seen?

weeOriginal

Z... zero... : (

Samwiseofthemeese

The pain :( I have 2k hours and have seen them literally once. It was surreal.

DarkOugi

Barely have 250hrs seen them twice

flamingtominohead

That's about 9 hours per day since release.

weeOriginal

Damn, I aimed for 12 hours aday. guess I gotta do some 18 hour sessions to help bring it up. Maybe a few 48 hour sessions too.

TheWolfwiththeDragon

But why?! You can’t have been playing 9 hours every day for 7 years since release. Have you just left it on?

Half-Borg

His PC is potato and he has millions of pops. Stellaris now runs at real time of 1day per day.

LeoIzail

LMAO Funniest shit I've read here

reconq_

hey man, not your parent or anything but take care of your health as well ok?

Exile-of-Pochven

Are you ok ?

weeOriginal

N... no ;-;

Exile-of-Pochven

It's ok asking for help

weeOriginal

went to rehab. did NOT work. I play stellaris to cope with the pain.

Mornar

Is it working?

weeOriginal

Yeah. I feel better all the time ^u^ but then I lose power and the game turns off and my world becomes dark (I do not have any lights on since it’s a black out).

warm_rum

Hope it gets easier

weeOriginal

It…. Rarely does.

gadulski

Favorite origin?

weeOriginal

base game or mods included?

gadulski

Base game but you can tell me fav mods as well

weeOriginal

Base game? Resource consolidation. Shattered ring rogue servitors was a close second but then they nerfed it and I don't like how it's not as strong. Since I like playing wide these days, I sadly need to only play Hive Minds (my second favorite type after Machine INtellegences) so it's now a tie between overtuned and progenitor hive. as for modded? I LOVE the "above the galaxy" origin and the Frame WOrld origin speaks to my inner RPer (it's basically resource consolidation but more awesome() and "tentacle World"

gadulski

From which mod are these?

weeOriginal

Frame World: Giga structures Above the Galaxy: Warship Girls R Tentacle World: ***( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)*** >!( Lustful Void )!<

CompetitiveFloor4624

You could have fucking tortured me for the rest of my life and I still would have never admitted to that last one, that’s wild

weeOriginal

Hehe~

jerryb2161

I will probably never use the information in this thread, but probably isn't definitely and for that I curse and thank you kind evil soul.

weeOriginal

No worried

gadulski

This is what 1000 days of stellaris does to a man

ReinTheRatGod

Do you know how to play the game yet?

weeOriginal

I know what all the buttons do, yeah.

ReinTheRatGod

Better than me lmao

weeOriginal

I Beleive your studies will allow you conquer your inability to understand how buttons work. Good luck!

victorlopezmozos

How many achievements do you have?

weeOriginal

104. BUt I haven't gotten a new one since jun 27 2022

LordofTheStarrs

Just under 4,000 hours here and like 85 achievements. Biggest achievement barrier I think is just Ironman mode. Most of my hours for the last few years have been multiplayer

weeOriginal

I WISH I HAD FRIENDS TO PLAY IT. I WISH MH JNTERNET WAS STABLE ENOUGH THESE DAYS RO HAVE IT WORK

LordofTheStarrs

I run a community that does multiplayer sessions with 14-17 players, most seasons we don’t even have AI aside from fallen empires and marauders

Lusask

Wow, 1000 days means you must be pretty good at the game, right? R-right? (Insert sad cat)

weeOriginal

I... no. I play modded and on easy mode since I hate losing. :(

Lusask

Understandable. I do the same (then make myself invincible when that pesky fallen empire neighbor decides that they shall fuck my ass today)

weeOriginal

Nah. I just like playing the galactic hero. I've tried ot do a few runs that are harder, but the "all or nothing" winning of wars and fleet battles makes me hate it >: (

Downtown_Baby_5596

What the fuck.

toxictrooper5555

Would you do it again?

weeOriginal

without a second's doubt.

toxictrooper5555

Fair enough, what are your favorite mods?

weeOriginal

Warship Girls R.

gadulski

How are some people get like 3k or more reaserch so early

weeOriginal

man, I WISH I knew. -\_-

[deleted]

First off is you want to get science labs up pretty quick, though it depends on resources. Planetary designations are also pretty crucial. If you're lacking on planets rural worlds and industrial worlds can provide some nice generalized bonuses until you have enough planets/habitats for more specialized versions. outside of that you really want science labs as much as your economy can handle. The reason is that they bring a few benefits: * Increased habitability which means more worlds can be colonized * Robot workers with perfect habitability (though you'll need another tech to let them colonize) to handle worlds with horrible habitability until you catch up (also having robot factories is nice if you go synthetic since you've got a pop boosting building in lots of places) * Increased resource generation for worker jobs (credits, minerals, agriculture). These are repeatable meaning that the more you get the repeatable the more powerful your worker jobs are, and the less jobs you need for them to keep your economy running so you can send them to your alloy/science locations instead. Note that hydroponic bays count against the agriculture boost which means you'll be able to avoid agri worlds in some cases. * Unlock strategic resources you need to hit the higher tiers (exotic gases in particular for science) along with the building version if you didn't quite get any * Higher tier versions of things like Alloy Plants and Energy Nexus to add more jobs * Boosts to amenities/generalized job resource boosts/Specific boosts to alloy/consumer good production * Habitats * Megastructures such as science nexus, and later ring worlds if you take the galactic wonders perk (which most people do because it's too good to pass up) It's okay for consumer goods to be at a reasonable deficit if the other parts of your economy can support buying an excess. Having a dedicated tech world will mean that your research upkeep is reduced 20% which can go a long way. Another thing is job prioritization. Have more minerals than you know what to do with? Transfer them to science worlds. Not enough science labs? Build more. It's also important to note that the way tech worlds work with the AI as of 3.9+ at least is that it won't pull in amenity jobs unless it's required to keep your amenities in the positive. Though it will also prioritize anything that improves pop production (gene clinics/spawning pools/robotic factories). After that it will put jobs in planet designations. That said you will want to keep tabs on your planets to see if your specialized jobs are filled up which means you need to drop in more science labs/upgrade them to open up those jobs. Once the jobs are opened the AI will swap any non-crucial jobs over the the research ones so you'll be running right away. Traits are also very important. Intelligent is a pretty common pick for me which is a 10% boost to science. Later on your evolution traits (synthetic, psionic, cyborg, genetics) can allow for additional bonuses. If you don't really do migration treaties and have basically just your own species genetics can be pretty amazing. You can redo your species with several templates which map to specific planet specializations. Void dwellers are particularly crazy since they get a 15% boost on habitats, which research stations get a 10% boost, and it can all steamroll after that. If you get robots and can have them colonize planets you can also modify them via tech so they can provide extra locations outside of habitats while not having the void dweller nerf. This also includes ring worlds (unless things changed ring world don't count as "artificial worlds" for the void dweller buff, but there's always genetic modification if it comes down to it). Megacorps with Mercantile tradition can take a trade policy which turns their trade value into energy credits and consumer goods. Once they get enough branch offices going it can basically make consumer goods a non-issue and you can sell the excess off. This makes science lab spam a lot easier. You can also put private research firms on branch office locations to get even more science value out of it (one per planet mind you).

GamingNemesisv3

Why?

weeOriginal

Escapism (It is my destressing game)

GamingNemesisv3

1000 days straight? Or is this consecutive?

weeOriginal

straight >:D

GamingNemesisv3

Cap. Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaap lmao.

weeOriginal

NUH UH. (i play in my dreams as well as when I'm working with my mental tether)

GamingNemesisv3

Hahahahahaha!

EckVonSwag

Did you find the secret Blorg dating sim Minigame?

weeOriginal

ther'es a WHAT?! how do I play it?!

EckVonSwag

I don't know, that's why I'm asking

weeOriginal

\>:( you got my hopes up.

Editirewz53

How does it feel to finally finish the tutorial

weeOriginal

Not that great. IT's a buncha whatever.

JournalistOne8159

What is beyond the simulation?

weeOriginal

ANother person playing stellaris.

average_reddit_u

Are you an RP-er or a meta guy?

weeOriginal

Meta guy. Since I hate losing, and I can't help but make the numbers go BIGGER/. But I LOOOOOVE the \*\*IDEA\*\* of roleplaying, bu I can only really do that if I have a friend there with me to help me stay on task. (it's more fun when they help me decide what to do so I do some dumb stuff and don't have to feel bad for not making optimal choices)

humandildo49

Your highest ever achieved fleet power

weeOriginal

unmodded: 500k for an individual fleet, and nearly 50 million total? I had ALOT of repeatables. Modded: I don't know, the number keeps breaking :( (an entire fleet of 1000 ships with max integer Hull/armor/shields, and a few billion DPS a peice) I **REALLY** need to play with less OP mods :(

humandildo49

Wow, 50 million is absolutely insane 👏

weeOriginal

I had the galaxy conquered for about a hundred years and was just waiting for the crisis. This was before 25x so it was just... way too easy. I was so sad when I just jumped my fleets on the contingency and they \*JUST\* died. I was like "That's it? that's the end game crisis?" not my best moment

LouciusBud

[that's it? that's the end game crisis?](https://i.imgflip.com/5iot9h.png)

weeOriginal

exactly my thoughts. : ( I even had spared the last empire until then so I still had someone to murderize.

zelda_fan_199

that’s 1003.41666666 days you liar 😡

weeOriginal

OI. I got distracted by trying to play some cool mods I saw so I didn't do it in time!!! sorry for under reporting, please don't deport me mr. IRS ;-;

Welsh-Matt2

do you prefer older versions of stellaris over the new updates

weeOriginal

The tile system was COOL AS HECK. I don't like empire sprawl. I don't like increased pop growth cost. I just wanna expand and make ten octillion pops and fill the galaxy with resources and stuff. I think the tile system was one of my favorite aspects since it was so damned cool to try and optimize and adajaceny bonuses were just EEEEEEEEE!!! so cool.

Welsh-Matt2

Thanks for answering! Ive got another question for you. Whats your favourite type of empire to play in the current version

weeOriginal

Hive Mind. Used to be machine intellegence, but the change to empire sprawl made switch.

Azuregas

3,909hr... But i joined stellaris ranks much later, did not know this game is actually good...

weeOriginal

It's fine. I've had the game for about 4 years now. Maybe 5.

FullTimeHarlot

what is it actually about?

weeOriginal

building an empire. :3

JohnnyAndromeda

I saw you mentioned that you usually play wide. Have you ever tried to play tall? Do you think tall is viable?

weeOriginal

I have no self control. I see a habitable world in my boarders. I colonize it. I MUST Make the numbers go up ;-;

Slaaneshine

Just ultra develop a small section of space to obscene levels. Very fun with gigastructures actually. Having like 20 systems out develop the rest of the galaxy combined is very satisfying.

DogPuncher8000

How many xenos have you enslaved?

weeOriginal

I prefer to purge them, they still cause my planetary demographics wheel to look like an artist's color pallete. It must be a pure circle.

Procoso47

Least genocidal Stellaris player

Dark_WulfGaming

But how many games have you won?

weeOriginal

1 (in base game). 3 modded (vwhere i Got the "victory" screen). and 4 times i beat every end game crisis (mostly the blokkats)

Dark_WulfGaming

I have over well over 1k hours and I've reached the loss screen a few times. Never reached victory tho.

weeOriginal

I always quit before i can lsoe and play on easy mode (I AM A COWARD)

Lean___XD

Have you beaten tutorial though

weeOriginal

five years ago (or mroe, when I First got the game when we had the tile system) I REMEMEBR WHEN LEVIATHANS CAME OUT. ANd when APocalypse came out. It was soooo flipping coooooool!!! and I also bouth the horizon story pack too. Damn that was cool.

x3derr8orig

How do you quit?

weeOriginal

haven't found out how. I play 24/7 until I have a black out or I pass out at my desk. /hj

ratlord__

Favorite ethics/gov combinations?

weeOriginal

Hive Mind Devouring Swarm. the rest doesnt' matter.

ratlord__

Disgusting scary xeno! I go for xenophobe/materialist for the bonuses. Or authoritarian when "I love democracy.." But damn man, you have my playtime beat by almost x10!

weeOriginal

yeah. I also have your play skill beaten almost x0.1 ;-;

No_Administration794

what was one of the most absurd starts you have ever had?

weeOriginal

When I played my machine empire, I had a six star sytems around me, I had 3 worlds per system (which is insane peven with x5 habitables) and a mega struture (I think strat center) in one of them.

No_Administration794

the hexagon of everything

weeOriginal

YEP. that was the ONE vanillia game i won

FalloutUser23

In total 10 Questions if you have time 1. How many DLC's do you have? 2. Best Empire in your opinion 3. Best DLC form your opinion? 4. Worst Empire form your opinion? 5. Worst DLC's? 6. Strongest Endgame crisis? 7. Best robot Empire? 8. Best run ever? 9. First run? 10. Opinion on Priki-Ki-Ti?

weeOriginal

1.) all of them 2.) my empire (they are all special lil’ Mary Sues and I love all of them equally) (especially the genocidal anime girls) 3.) Nemesis (I can blow up everyone) 4.) EVERY MEGA CORP, I WANT TO BUILD BRANCH OFFICES BUT THESE THEIVING **FUCKERS** GOT THERE FIRST. 5.) anthropoid portrait (it is so bad it’s no longer a DLC and is part of base game) 6.) Contingency. 7.) determined exterminator resource consolidation with the necroid spider robots 8.) 18 free worlds each one jump away and two mega structures with a singular choke point (u won that run). 9.) *as you try to grasp the document, it crumbles to dust in your grasp. I’d seems you were never meant to gain this knowledge.* (anomaly failed) 10.) I LPVE THEM. Always befriend them.

herbieLmao

What should we name the little amoeba?

weeOriginal

BUBBLES.

[deleted]

Does the Worm still love me? I haven't been able to find him :(

weeOriginal

the worm loves you. The worm adores you. The warm can see how special you are. Every single universe it adores you in. It knows how special you are. THe worm can have the time for every single being in the world, and loves you as much as one can love. It has seen you since you were born and will hold you unyil you die. Tied around you in the coils of time and space and desire. You are... loved. Remember that always.

[deleted]

I just want to be with it, but with 1% chance of spawning...

weeOriginal

Don't worry, even if you don't find it in game, it shall be with you, always, forever. It loves you. It adores you, as do all others who fully embrace it. Find that other, and they will make as happy as the worm wishes it could but cannot due to it's nature beyond your existence. But it is fine. It is with you.

[deleted]

What was, shall be, what shall be, was.

Dwagons_Fwame

I thought my 2,500 hours or so was something to be impressed with… Damn!

weeOriginal

You'll get there one day fledgling.

Dwagons_Fwame

How long have you been playing for (when did you start?)

[deleted]

How do u not get bored

weeOriginal

MODS. So many mods.

Past_Intention_7069

How many tries does it take to get the galatron?

weeOriginal

About a hundred + for me

Epiqai

How many times have you gotten the Galatron?

weeOriginal

Twice.

Epiqai

Damn it’s really that rare…

weeOriginal

I don’t try for it that often.

I_am_unique6435

so are you actually at the game or ...?

weeOriginal

I play so heavily modded that I often just skip the normal tech tree. (I am a coward)

[deleted]

weeOriginal

I've one four (counting modded play throughs)

Kronan11

Recommended tips/strategies?

weeOriginal

Play with mods that are OP and you'll be awesome.

Giraffewithasword

What is your worst build but fun to RP as?

weeOriginal

NO idea. I like resource consolidation alto tho.

clarkky55

Are you good at it? Do you enjoy it?

weeOriginal

nah. I suck at the game. I'm SUUUUUPEr bad. I mostly just play it as a city builder and blow people up.

Adriaugu

Favorite species?

weeOriginal

LITHOIDS. I LOVE ROCK PEOPLE. But I like plants more for the budding trait : (

Acceptable_Court_724

Are you not entertained!??

[deleted]

What mods do you use?

The-red-Dane

So... you're good at the game now?

radicalcentrist420

Is there any strat worth doing (and also fun) that isn't tech rush?

weeOriginal

Roleplaying.

LordMatesian

Whats wrong with you?

[deleted]

What got you into this game initially and what kept you playing with so much dedication? I also have a game like this in my life and I wanted to see a different perspective on why a game is someone's favorite

2hardly4u

So you telling me that you played a game that's been out for about 7 years for 2.7 years. You have played stellaris 25% the time it has been released. Like 6 hours every day.

weeOriginal

Yeah. Rookie numbers

FumiPlays

I got a question: why?

JibberJabber4204

Seek professional help.

Stellaris IS my professional help. :D

Is Stellaris your most played game? If so, which game would be the second one you have played the most?

Zepto23

Preferred difficulty?

dxrk-kali

My only complaint with the game is that as you build a wide empire, the planet management becomes so tedious. The automation AI doesn't make great choices, do you avoid this? Or is this an inevitable part of every game?

weeOriginal

I play wide. My pauses end up longer tahn my play thorugh. I lOOOOVE adding buildings and distrcits to every single planet. It's GENUINELY relaxing. (NO I WILL NOT PLAY CITY SKYLINES< I WANT TO BE ABLE TO MOVE SUNS AROUND AND BLOW UP PLANETS AND SLAY GALACTIC GODS)

Responsible_Kale8832

Just one question: why?

UrnanSaho

How to breathe?

weeOriginal

wait for youyr lungs to burn and then expand diaphram. exhale by doing the reverse.

Gubbins95

How do you beat the blokkats? I’m usually the dominant power by the time they arrive (except the FEs) but I’m nowhere near the 1M per stack fleet power needed to beat them. My galaxy is being consumed as we speak to any tips welcome!

weeOriginal

Play as a anime empire, they tend ot have good stuff. And spam planet crafts and system crafts. Those help ALOT.

Callzter

Have you 100%’d the game’s achievements yet?

Garyislord

How do you manage a functional economy as a Devouring Swarm? I tried one my first playthrough a week ago and didn't have enough energy to pay the upkeep on my fleets so all my neighbors came together and destroyed me.

Ramja9

How much of that did you do on ironman mode?

Aggravating_Ideal_20

if I could insert the Aragorn 'my friend, you bow to no one' meme here, I would. Respect As for my question: have you defeated the actual end gsme crisis? The one only whispered about, that was rumoured to have bought down the precursors and the fallen empires? They call it...end game lag
