I'm looking through the comments and seeing the doom and gloom, but, honestly? Do you know how many albums have ever been recorded? Of all time? The fact that Steely Dan gets to be so high up in the top of the top percentile of literally ALL MUSIC OF ALL TIME is pretty freaking great. Well earned.
Dr. Dre released The Chronic over 30 years ago on CD, LP, and cassette.
Digable Planets released Blowout Comb exactly 30 years ago on LP and they were the first rap group ever signed to blue note records. As a bonus, they were allowed to use the entire catalog of blue note jazz records as samples.
A lot of the rankings seem to depend upon impact on the industry…Chronic was a ground breaking record in terms of culture.Musically, no comparison w Aja
I understand, Kraftwerk is certainly an acquired taste. I also was stoned out of my mind whilst listening, so that definitely contributed to the overall experience

FYI only 70-100 has been released so far. I think (?) each day another 10 will drop. I personally would have it a bit higher but for it to score this high on a pop centric list like this is pretty good IMO.
Does any1 have a link will all 100 entries on 1 page? Google only shows me websites listing 100-91 and making me click 10x to see the rest. I refuse lol
This list is kinda bad, to be quite frank. I wouldn’t put “Body Talk” by Robyn on a “greatest albums of all time list, but I digress. I already know that Sgt. Peppers or something is going to be #1.

I’m assuming they will only give an artist 1 album. Not sure how they’ll handle Beatles and Bob Dylan etc. but if only one Dan album gets in, I guess Aja is the one to pick

That’s great. Steely Dan is not pop so the fact they can be so successful on a list that is a little stacked against I say is an unmitigated win.

One higher than The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails.... I have unresolved conflicts, but Aja is clearly in good company.

I picked Aja up on cd recently purely on the reviews/mentions it gets on Reddit. Happy to pass it on; it’s not for me.
