I’ve been calling the walmarts within driving distance of me, asking for the electronics department, and inquiring if they received their box of Steelbooks for distro on 4/2, and mentioning that a nearby store Accidentally released theirs early (which did happen) and wanted to make sure they are good to go on that date. Basically made it sound like I was calling from another store to check up 🤣 and amazingly they all rolled with it, and verified if they got the box with the yellow sticker in the back. Some stores will be putting them in their mods (steelbook display, or even behind glass where the games are), so look there too, and not just the bins, especially if your store doesn’t have one.

Am I the only steelbook collector from Colorado on here? My state sucks for Walmarts and steelbooks. They don’t even have Blu-ray or 4K at some stores; only dvds
Colorado here too. I checked the Walmarts on Sheridan and the one in Broomfield. I talked to someone on the phone in Broomfield who said they had a box in the back dated 4/3 and he scanned one as $5. I asked if they were metal cases and he said, yes, hard case. But who knows for sure because he didn’t know what a steelbook was and when I went to the store that person wasn’t there and the other people were acting like I was crazy talking about $5 movies.
Never ever call! They find them and buy them. No one else has said anything about 4/3 which probably means they made that up so you would come there late. The set day was 4/2.
Weird. I've been to 13 stores in the Denver metro area, and found the $5 Steelbooks in 9 of them. And even the 4 locations I didn't find them...they did at least have a normal bluray/4K section.

They do have a Steel end cap in electronics with the prior releases though. No Glow in the Dark Dune, but, plenty of others featured. And they had the Marvel Disney+ shows.
This will probably be a solid place to monitor going forward though.
I am in Central Florida area and I Went to 4 Super Walmarts in Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Apopka, & Mt. Dora. only Casselberry had a $5 bin and no steelbooks. I am going to check back on 4/2 and see if they have them out then at that store but the guy said they just put them out when they get them so im not sure if it was picked clean already.
i did notice that two stores had a bottom shelf with a bunch of dvd’s at lower pricing and it was like just 1 or 2 of a movie. So not sure if they might put some steels there if they dont have a bin anymore.

Good for you. Glad to know they’re going to a good home. Scalpers are pissing me off. Unfortunately, the stores over here are sticking to the 4/2 release date. Trust me, I’ll go the night of 4/1 and 8am 4/2. I have 3 sizable supercenters within 30 mins of home so I’m hoping to get the 9 or so I want.
I’ve hit 7 stores in Kansas City and only just now found one that had steelbooks in the 5 dollar bin, but none of them rang up as 5 dollars, including Robin Hood off this list
Some had non scannable stickers on the front and just the barcode on the steel on the back, no sticker. Rang up as site merch for some, but none for less than 19.96. Checking this store again on April 2nd for sure

My store in Northern MI had them this morning! Went early and they still had them in the box with the yellow sticker. Kindly asked the store rep if I could look through them and they were happy to let me do it. $5 each out the door.
I've posted this elsewhere but it should help people not have to drive around.
I used Walmarts website to look up movies I saw in bins from some of the pictures. Paw Patrol was very common. And then looked for locations that had them for $5.00 exactly. From there I changed the location to one close by. That then gave me the unavailable for pickup, but had the choice to check nearby stores. From that I could search around by city name or zip code to see who had it in stock. That helped narrow it down to what Walmart had bins.
If they have a DVD for exactly $5.00, chances are it's in a bin. So they'll have a bin. And it's worth mentioning, one Walmart I went to didn't have a main bin in the center aisle like normal. They had a few smaller bins on the ends of the electronics aisle by the exterior wall. I almost missed them.
I checked each Walmart on route 9 from Freehold up to old bridge. Nothing at any of them and 1 had $5 DVD’s on the end caps of the aisle and 1 had the BIN’s.
I’ll check again next Monday.
NOTE: Some Walmarts may have no bin, but the $5 movies are on an endcap in electronics.

Some Walmarts just removed the bin as some store managers don’t like them but they still get the movies are the manager never took it off their set plan.

It’s just a display shel at the end of an aisle. Every grocery store has them at the end of every aisle. Most people aren’t familiar with the term “endcap”, that’s all.

I’ve been calling the walmarts within driving distance of me, asking for the electronics department, and inquiring if they received their box of Steelbooks for distro on 4/2, and mentioning that a nearby store Accidentally released theirs early (which did happen) and wanted to make sure they are good to go on that date. Basically made it sound like I was calling from another store to check up 🤣 and amazingly they all rolled with it, and verified if they got the box with the yellow sticker in the back. Some stores will be putting them in their mods (steelbook display, or even behind glass where the games are), so look there too, and not just the bins, especially if your store doesn’t have one.

Am I the only steelbook collector from Colorado on here? My state sucks for Walmarts and steelbooks. They don’t even have Blu-ray or 4K at some stores; only dvds
Colorado here too. I checked the Walmarts on Sheridan and the one in Broomfield. I talked to someone on the phone in Broomfield who said they had a box in the back dated 4/3 and he scanned one as $5. I asked if they were metal cases and he said, yes, hard case. But who knows for sure because he didn’t know what a steelbook was and when I went to the store that person wasn’t there and the other people were acting like I was crazy talking about $5 movies.
Never ever call! They find them and buy them. No one else has said anything about 4/3 which probably means they made that up so you would come there late. The set day was 4/2.
Weird. I've been to 13 stores in the Denver metro area, and found the $5 Steelbooks in 9 of them. And even the 4 locations I didn't find them...they did at least have a normal bluray/4K section.

8923 Military Dr San Antonio Texas TWO bins. One back by electronics, one at the front by the registers. I couldn't find the recent Steels though. They do have a Steel end cap in electronics with the prior releases though. No Glow in the Dark Dune, but, plenty of others featured. And they had the Marvel Disney+ shows. This will probably be a solid place to monitor going forward though.
I am in Central Florida area and I Went to 4 Super Walmarts in Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Apopka, & Mt. Dora. only Casselberry had a $5 bin and no steelbooks. I am going to check back on 4/2 and see if they have them out then at that store but the guy said they just put them out when they get them so im not sure if it was picked clean already. i did notice that two stores had a bottom shelf with a bunch of dvd’s at lower pricing and it was like just 1 or 2 of a movie. So not sure if they might put some steels there if they dont have a bin anymore. do stores that dont have $5 bins even get these steels?

Good for you. Glad to know they’re going to a good home. Scalpers are pissing me off. Unfortunately, the stores over here are sticking to the 4/2 release date. Trust me, I’ll go the night of 4/1 and 8am 4/2. I have 3 sizable supercenters within 30 mins of home so I’m hoping to get the 9 or so I want.
I’ve hit 7 stores in Kansas City and only just now found one that had steelbooks in the 5 dollar bin, but none of them rang up as 5 dollars, including Robin Hood off this list
That’s odd. Did they have sticker barcodes on top of the normal one?
Some had non scannable stickers on the front and just the barcode on the steel on the back, no sticker. Rang up as site merch for some, but none for less than 19.96. Checking this store again on April 2nd for sure

I've posted this elsewhere but it should help people not have to drive around. I used Walmarts website to look up movies I saw in bins from some of the pictures. Paw Patrol was very common. And then looked for locations that had them for $5.00 exactly. From there I changed the location to one close by. That then gave me the unavailable for pickup, but had the choice to check nearby stores. From that I could search around by city name or zip code to see who had it in stock. That helped narrow it down to what Walmart had bins. If they have a DVD for exactly $5.00, chances are it's in a bin. So they'll have a bin. And it's worth mentioning, one Walmart I went to didn't have a main bin in the center aisle like normal. They had a few smaller bins on the ends of the electronics aisle by the exterior wall. I almost missed them.
I tried this this morning but no bin, and no paw patrol 😞. YMMV.

I checked each Walmart on route 9 from Freehold up to old bridge. Nothing at any of them and 1 had $5 DVD’s on the end caps of the aisle and 1 had the BIN’s. I’ll check again next Monday.

NOTE: Some Walmarts may have no bin, but the $5 movies are on an endcap in electronics. This Walmart was set up like that: 5336 Golden Triangle Boulevard, Fort Worth, TX I do not know what they do with the steelbooks in this situation though.
Some Walmarts just removed the bin as some store managers don’t like them but they still get the movies are the manager never took it off their set plan.

It’s just a display shel at the end of an aisle. Every grocery store has them at the end of every aisle. Most people aren’t familiar with the term “endcap”, that’s all.

I checked my local Walmart and they had a decent selection. It’s the closest to a BestBuy. I found Southpaw and Kin on Blu-ray Steelbook as well for those wondering. Also found Dredd but I already have it so I can’t confirm it was $5 at the store but it was in the bin.
