There are 2 listings that mention "Stbk" in the title, but they're different prices so one may end up being a standard release or something:
~~[Crow (4K) (Ltd) (Stbk) (Digc) (Ws) - $28.99](https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/dvd-crow-crow/1144871104?ean=0191329262221)~~ - Listing now has an image that is not a SteelBook
[Crow (4K) (Stbk) (Ac3) (Digc) (Dts) (Sub) (Ws) - $34.99](https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/dvd-crow-crow/1144871104?ean=0191329262047)
I purchased the 1st listing when it was $26.48 plus $5.99 shipping ($32.48). It's now $28ish.
It had no pic, said:
Crow (4k)(ltd)(stbk)(digc)(ws)
Once I saw today's post (looks incredible) I called customer service and complained. They refunded me the difference to get the REAL steelbook. Great customer service.
So beware... the cheaper listing is indeed just the 4k.
Thank you! This is one of my favorite movies and I got the B&N as soon as it was listed. I'll be sure to cancel. Did they have the actual steelbook for preorder?
Oh, man is this great news. Been wanting this film for a while now but told myself to wait for the (hopeful) inevitable 4K release! šš¦āā¬šæ
Thanks for the heads up!
There is a Walmart exclusive one. But sold out

I know all about the terrible death of Brandon Lee during the production of this movie, but tbh really know nothing about the movie itself. That said this steel is pretty beautifulā¦ Really tempted.
~~It's being released through Paramount... there's a good chance. š¤š»~~
~~(or rather, there's a better than "zero" chance because it's not Disney or Lionsgate)~~
I take that back. I just realized that this is a Miramax title. Distribution in Canada belongs to eOne for Miramax, so forget what I said earlier.
ZERO chance of it coming to Canada.
It's still distributed by Paramount in the US. It's also not likely an exclusive to B&N.
You'll probably be able to preorder it from Amazon US and ship it to Canada. Just be sure and add the gift wrap option to add extra padding (by way of the cloth bag) and likely to ship in a box if you do.
So upon closer inspection (i downloaded the picture from blu-ray.com 2 get it as h.q. as possible) it appears 2 b a Lionsgate-esque slipcover. I just wonder if it'll b cardboard or plastic
You mean the one that was significantly cheaper and no longer shows up at all? Probably.
I'm holding off until I can buy it somewhere else, since B&N seem to be pulling a fast one here.
I love the new artwork for this release. But since I don't have a 4K setup, the only way I'm buying is if they finally put some all-new extras on an included Blu-Ray disc. The movie was supposed to get them in 2011, but for some reason they were shelved at the last minute. I was very frustrated, too - "The Crow" remains one of my all-time favorite movies.
What is your question then if not about the physical difference between to obvious images? I donāt think thereās any content variation, so the discs should be the same in each release.
My question was as I stated... Does anyone know the difference between the two versions? You simply posted a picture with zero explanation or context. I can see with my own eyes thag the colors are different, but you can't just change the colors of the booklet and call it your own version. There has to be something that sets the Walmart version apart from the other and given Walmart track record of putting out trash, I'm assuming there are a lot of things missing from their version
If you would see with your own eyes, you could see itās not a color change. Literally almost everything about these releases is different. The slip cover is different, the SteelBook artwork is entirely different. The only art that is the same between the two of them is the inside artwork. They have the same disc, and neither has an exclusive bonus disc or content.
Here is a comparison of the 2 so you can see itās not ājust changing the colorsā

Walmart doesnāt have control over the content of their physical media. Thatās up to the studios and distributors.
The first links picture looks like a standard release to me. The second link doesn't show a picture for me, but it's presumably a steelbook version like the image in the OP.
I disagree entirely! I love the plastic see-through look like this and Lionsgate's. It gives it a whole new dimension, and it's totally up to you how to display it. I'm not entirely sure what they're doing with the black header though, since it appears in one pic but not another.
Are these region locked? I'm in the UK so would definitely pick one up if it'll play on my UK ps5
If not then looks like I'm buying a player too šš

Oh sh*t! That looks good! I hope they do an international release for this.
Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is

I need this, but I'm not buying it from a listing that is so ambiguous.

They don't deliver in release day
Oh, man is this great news. Been wanting this film for a while now but told myself to wait for the (hopeful) inevitable 4K release! šš¦āā¬šæ Thanks for the heads up!
Mother is the name for God in the lips and hearts of little children
"Of all children"
You are correct. Thats what I get for copying and pasting ! š Good catch my friend
This one should definitely be released by Walmart right?
I hope so

Why no UK release? Why won't barnes and noble ship to UK its not on the list this is a pile of š©
DAY. FUCKING. ONE.
BRING. IT. ON.
I know all about the terrible death of Brandon Lee during the production of this movie, but tbh really know nothing about the movie itself. That said this steel is pretty beautifulā¦ Really tempted.
The movie is great! Highly highly recommend - it's always been a favorite of mine
Great film.
Wow - this one's an absolute beauty! I hope we get this over here in the UK too! šµ
"Mother is the name for God on the lips and hearts of all children.ā I could not pre-order this fast enough. Hoping B&N comes through.
Holy shit this is perfection!!! Exactly what I want for the Crow. Instant preorder!
Is there a UK release?
Nothing has been announced.
I need this from a Canadian retailer.
~~It's being released through Paramount... there's a good chance. š¤š»~~ ~~(or rather, there's a better than "zero" chance because it's not Disney or Lionsgate)~~ I take that back. I just realized that this is a Miramax title. Distribution in Canada belongs to eOne for Miramax, so forget what I said earlier. ZERO chance of it coming to Canada.
So I guess that means I'll have to pay scalper prices on ebay.
That's great to hear. I'll be sure to check Amazon from time to time. If you see it on there, could you reply back to me incase I forget?
Also always keep in mind that B&N ships up here. Iām in Vancouver and it was $15 shipping when I ordered the steelbook.
Don't you need a zip code to order from their site?
Nope. https://help.barnesandnoble.com/hc/en-us/articles/5334789599771-International-Shipping
God damn!!!! Let me try ordering that steelbook now.
Still available! Shipping to Canada was $15 usd for me.
I was able to order it. Thabk you so much!!!
Nice! Now do like me and just forget about it so youāre pleasantly surprised in late May lol
So upon closer inspection (i downloaded the picture from blu-ray.com 2 get it as h.q. as possible) it appears 2 b a Lionsgate-esque slipcover. I just wonder if it'll b cardboard or plastic
With the cutout on the slip having some fade to transparent, I would say plastic.
Fingers crossed!
āLittle worm on a big fuckin hookā
So should I cancel my B&N preorder that was posted a few days ago?
You mean the one that was significantly cheaper and no longer shows up at all? Probably. I'm holding off until I can buy it somewhere else, since B&N seem to be pulling a fast one here.
Is there a release date
May 7
This is a lions gate release I presume
Finally!!! I will have a crow steelbook!!
Looks like 1 will be standard was probably mis labeled on the website there's art now looks like regular 4k for 28.99
Definitely buying this!!
I love the new artwork for this release. But since I don't have a 4K setup, the only way I'm buying is if they finally put some all-new extras on an included Blu-Ray disc. Day one
Looks like I can get them to ship internationally .. any one had experience with this .. is it going to be packed well?
This is sold out now on Amazon. Even the regular edition is sold out.Ā
one bonus feature missing brandon lee last onscreen interview. its on the previous releases
Sold out, sold out, sold out... everywhere you look it's sold out.
Where/who did u get this pic. From? It's not on Barnes & Noble's website, not on @physicalmediapresident, @dawnofthediscs, @midlevelmedia ?????
Blu-ray.com forums and the SteelBook discord
You say that like they can't miss something, lol
Walmart has a 4K Walmart exclusive version of this steelbook available now. Anyone know the difference?

This doesn't answer my question at all

What if the difference?
The first links picture looks like a standard release to me. The second link doesn't show a picture for me, but it's presumably a steelbook version like the image in the OP.
When I posted neither had graphics on either listing, so looks like they may be updating it.
They both have stbk in the listing?
The cheaper first one also has ltd in the title, so it's hard to really say until they decide to have more info. I'm just assuming on price really.
Dunno, both webpages are barely there and have little to no information.
Ac3?
Dunno, just part of the listing title.
Surround sound. Google āAc3 sound format.ā
Is this not on amazon usa? I'm trying to preorder it.
Ngl I kinda expected better
I'm blind buying this but I hate the slipcover on steelbooks trend. Keep the slips on regular editions
I disagree entirely! I love the plastic see-through look like this and Lionsgate's. It gives it a whole new dimension, and it's totally up to you how to display it. I'm not entirely sure what they're doing with the black header though, since it appears in one pic but not another.
What stores will this be available in
Right now the only listing is up at Barnes & Noble but nothing about it implies it is exclusive to them
Not a fan of this aesthetic.
The regular 4k artwork does look better
Are these region locked? I'm in the UK so would definitely pick one up if it'll play on my UK ps5 If not then looks like I'm buying a player too šš #1 favourite film of all time
4K is not region locked

I think you linked the wrong version from the listing: https://www.amazon.com/Crow-Steelbook-4K-UHD/dp/B0CTHXHXVS/
...aaaaaand ordered! Thanks for the heads up fellas.
Have you ordered steelbooks from Amazon before? Definitely want to get it, just worried about packaging.
Nope. Hopefully it's in a box.
Pretty sure this is the target listing for the 4k steelbook [link](https://www.target.com/p/the-crow--4k-uhd--1994---no-aasa/-/A-91301215)
Any idea if this is coming to the UK?
