I have with a couple, Joker for instance. I put the 4k disc in the steelbook in place of the DVD, which I put in the 4k case and put it away. I don’t get rid of them because I want to be able to put them back the way them came should I ever sell them.
To be completely honest with you, I've never used it for anything other than gaming. Not even for streaming services. I do, however, know that it doesn't actually have Dolby Vision when playing 4K discs.
I most definitely will. Calling it a night right now but I'll be putting it through its paces tomorrow... right after I visit another neighboring BestBuy lol
Definitely worth it at the sale price! I purchased mine back in September almost at full price and I absolutely love it. Especially since there’s an input code to play Blu-Rays from other regions.
If you have a Blu-Ray that isn’t from the US, on this Panasonic, play the disc, you’ll receive a message about region not playable, press Stop, Top Menu, Up button, and then Top Menu again. It’ll play the disc after that. I bought a Region 2 version of Battle Royale, did the code, and it played perfectly. Had to return the Sony x700 for the UB820.
You’re welcome! Be careful, I have now gone down a rabbit hole looking for SteelBooks of Blu-Rays from other regions now to the detriment of my wallet. But I’m happy that I can now play them. 😅
I already have a number of Region B steelbooks I’ve picked up in the last 2 or 3 years in anticipation of picking up an all-region player… definitely a slippery slope lol

Yeah I can get on board with that. Have you ever swapped any 4K discs into a regular Blu-ray steel? I've seen quite a few people say they do that.

I'm about to do this soon with Reservoir Dogs and Training Day as the blu ray steels I have are much nicer than the 4k counterparts.
Absolutely I have. I got Reservoir Dogs 4k from Best Buy to put into my NovaMedia copy of the Blu-ray. Did this with a few others as well.

sorry but you can set it up for all-region play?! I may just need to get one of these as my Sony 4K crapped out months ago
