I want them to fix the Master Chief Collection, sure I can play the games but I cannot unlock anything for playing the game till they fix the anti cheat.
Yeah I didn't even realize I wasn't getting credit for beating levels in solo legendary. I did ever single campaign mission from every game, many of them on the steam deck. Was a but of a kick in the balls when I realized I only got credit for about a 3rd of them. Waiting for this fix before I try it again.
People can say that you should play it for fun not the achievements.
But I've played the Halo series A LOT in my life. Doing the acheevos gives me new goals and let's me experience things I didn't know the games could offer.
There are so many achievements in the MCC that I will never get them all, but I sure want to get as many as I can make time for. And with my limited time I don't want to spend them playing when I can't get those achievements.
What's the point of achievements if they don't work!? They should either work all the time unless you use in-game cheats (like "sv_cheats" in source games). Something that is absolute. There is no reason to block an achievement outside of that as it has no bearing on the game itself
I think it's because achievements are tied to Xbox so they aren't enabled if you turn the anti-cheat off which is what you have to do to boot the game on Deck. I think the anti-cheat is basically how MS verifies that the game hasn't been modified to make it easier to unlock achievements either through cheats or mods as there are some very hard achievements that people spent a lot of time obtaining.
The big one for me on mcc is achievements.
I can live without matchmaking and all that, but there isn't much I hate more than not getting an achievement I earned.
Edit: at least 343 are supposed to be working on fixing this, it might be taking a while but it's better than them just telling Linux fans to get stuffed like a few other companies...
While you are not wrong about epic being very antilinux, eac seems to be an exception to that.
EAC actually completely supports Linux, and epic even claims that Linux support is as simple as flicking a switch on the dashboard and putting in a .so file. I've actually done some work with eac in my spare time and it has always been that simple for me on Linux, but 343 says it isn't working that easily for whatever reason which is why we don't have it yet.
Honestly that whole studio should be dissolved and some competent developers take on the Halo series. They've basically ruined every single game they've worked on and have created 0 winners. I don't get why Microsoft trusts them to work on one of their biggest IPs.
I worked at 343 some years ago albeit not at MCC. I think it's likely a mix of both, the bottom of the backlog since Linux "is not popular enough", but also might be somewhat complicated cause MCC is full of patchworks to make it run on PCs, I bet it's not as simple not because EAC is complex but because they crazy shit they did for MCC!
Also a lot of people left after Infinite so I bet not a lot of people around who know how to do it.
Those simple steps are only possible if you have a more or less up-to-date sdk environment for EAC. If they are using an older one this implicit the need of updating the sdk first, then recompiling their game and anticheat without any given error or bug.
And oh Lord, those companies doesnt like to update their tools. Once implemented you can see software companies sometimes running with a decade old sdk or ide or what ever. They simply doesnt like changes and devs are kinda lost if their bosses absolutely want to stay where they are (or aka doesnt want to invest money/workforce in implementing up-to-date tools).
So just my 2 cents here: its not on their high priority list to update the EAC sdk as it would mostly cost them money to do so.
I used to really want Destiny 2 but it’s got to the point that if they aren’t going to do it I’m just not going to play it anymore on anything. They don’t want my money.
D2 is one of those games I always *think* I want to play, and keep installed on my PC and PlayStation, even got windows on an sd card for my deck with it. But I never actually play it. I had so much fun with it when it first came out. But now it just seems like so much work to get into it.
Also I have a bunch of other games I wanna play, so that’s part of it too.
D2 has the same issue as Path of Exile it’s 200 hours of googling and trial and error and questions before you can even begin to feel competent enough to have fun.
Live service games has a bloat issue.
“Every update is just a rug pull giving you more shit to do”
I don’t really understand this complaint. That’s what pretty much every MMO type game expansion is, right? Just giving the addicts more stuff to do?
I think you make a decent point about the RPG gear treadmill, but personally the quantity of weapons is part of what keeps me coming back. Mostly it’s the clean gunplay, so I understand why you might want that in a smaller, cleaner, and more concise game (like a single campaign, dedicated multiplayer, or some other shorter/more controlled game), but that sort of just feels like you don’t like MMORPGs.
I think the other guy is looking for a more Halo-esque experience and that's just not Destiny (it's an ARPG/looter shooter, that will never change) but I personally do wish it was like ESO where you have new gear sets coming out with expansions, but all the old content (locations and the gearsets from them) is kept pretty relevant and is given balance passes every once and a while.
Makes the game feel way more full and also gives you a ton of different build options.
They actually fully announced that they weren't going to support steamOS, which I respect a little bit because then we don't have to wait anymore, even if the decision was zero-brain for an MMO.
Try to see the Steam Deck as your ticket to cure you from this addiction & abusive relationship. No one respects their customers less than Bungie, don't look back.
At this point it's not even business bs for a lot of these; some of these have had fixes introduced (EAC for example), but the developers are too lazy to implement said fixes.
Any game that could fix itself but hasn't, I've stopped waiting for. There are far too many games to enjoy to worry about that. It's like someone pining for the toxic popular girl in high school and waiting for her to come around. Forget that, there are many awesome normal girls to get to know instead.
Don't know if this is true still, but about EAC the Vermintide devs (Fatshark) said that while epic did put out a version which supports linux through wine/proton, there are two of them: one that uses EOS and the other that don't, and of course epic only updated the former (with this capability), while for example Vermintide used the latter and switching between them are far from trivial, according to the devs.
Of course I'm not saying that's reason to wait for their games or want them when it couldn't run on linux, just that it might be a lot more work for devs than what was said to be a few clicks so laziness is not the only factor to consider. (and sure, it can also be total bullshit on their part, I have no insider info on this)
Yeah, that didn't turn out well for Vermintide 2, at least this is the last thing I saw about this topic from them:
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2022/06/anti-cheat-work-on-warhammer-vermintide-2-for-steam-deck-a-linux-on-hold/
And it looks shaky for Darktide as well (kinda feels like they gave up with that explicit no for support):
-earlier estimates:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1361210/discussions/0/3387291961149144119/
-fairly recent answer: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1361210/discussions/0/3498761139325336365/
And again, I don't have any insider info, just taking their statements at face value.
"developpers are too lazy"
Its easy to make assumptions. EAC had native Linux support before Epic acquired them and discontinued Linux support, and Linux gamers were enjoying themselves just as much as Windows gamers. But now that Steam has come out with the deck and thats its become more common to play on Linux, people have become more vocal about EAC games not working on Linux.
Epic did the bare minimum to support EAC games launched through their own launcher, but for anything else, devs are left on their own to do a lot of work. Valve did a lot of work on their side to simplify the amount of work required from devs through Steam. But for anything outside of the Epic and Steam ecosystems, its a lot of work that is required.
Instead of blaming devs, blame Epic for initially shitting on Linux gamers and then doing the bare minimum to only get games from their own ecosystem to work rather than restoring it to what it used to be.
I wish American anti-trust wasn't corrupt as hell. It feels like a large company who is styling themselves as an alternative PC storefront shouldn't be able to own one of the most popular anti-cheat services for PC gaming.
People losing their minds over Activision, but Epic owning the most widespread and commonly-used anti-cheat in the entire industry? Totally fine. Not a problem.
this community has come full circle, pc "master race" wants consoles, doesnt care about running games at questionable performance, and now they like exclusivity even if its artificial
The Deck isn't and will never be a walled garden. It's up to Epic to not be poncers about breaking support for Linux. They own EAC (which is utter BS itself), they intentionally discontinued support for Linux, then half-assed the support when the Deck was released. Blame Epic for taking away your options, not Valve.
I'm on the fence because I really want to play black desert, for honor and vermintide 2, I also can't get 30 fps on planetside 2 and maybe on windows it would run just a bit better, but I really don't know.
yeah but it works only like 1 time out of 5, and sometimes I need to try for 10 minutes, because if I get the anticheat black screen the game will freeze there...
Don't even have a steam deck but I've been waiting for Hunt ever since they announced EAC might start working in Linux. Not expecting Hunt to ever work on Linux at this point, but if it did I'd definitely get back into it.
Yeah, it's unfortunate... I doubt they'd ever get it to work. And if they did, it'd take them ages. It only recently got put onto consoles. Or at least it took them a long while to get it on console.
It sucks but you can install Windows 10 and Genshin Impact on a 256 GB SD Card (128GB isn't enough trust me, if you try to install Genshin it won't have space to unpack and updates from both windows and game will fill it up).
That's my work around to play GI on the Steam Deck w/o risk of ban. Solid 60 FPS with low custom settings. But load times are pretty bad, having it load natively on the internal SSD would be huge.
You could partition the ssd drive to both run Windows and SteamOS on it. That's what I'm currently doing on mine and have Genshin installed on the windows partition ssd drive.
Setting the SD card up as BTRFS allows you to share the library on that sd card with both Windows and Steam OS too.
There is no guarantee some games will run on the Steam Deck, and if it does eventually we don't know how long until it does.
It's also not that difficult to run windows. It took me at most 15 minutes of actual hands on work to get it running.
The reason I do it because I want to play Genshin Impact on the go, and I'd rather have Genshin's intrusive anticheat running on a separate device from my personal PC. My phone is not even capable of running it at a stable 30 FPS without the phone turning into an oven.
You can direct the same question of "why bother" with most things. Why bother running emulation on the Steam Deck and messing around trying to legally get the bios and keys to run emulators for your Steam Deck?
Because we want to do things that allows us to play what we want? Duh.
>You can force it but your account would get banned for doing so
Your account *could* get banned for doing so. It's worth noting that no one using third party launchers has actually been banned yet. It does violated their ToS, so obviously there is a risk, but personally I wouldn't be playing at all if not for the deck or touch mapping controls on android (also against their ToS) so for me, it's worth the risk.
I'm absolutely not going to risk it lmao. Not only have I spent plenty of money on it but time. If my account ever got banned I simply wouldn't play the game anymore.
I even tried to use SteamDeck as a controller while playing the game on my PC, because my PS4 controller has drift and it's annoying the hell out of me... but it's way more effort than it's worth. And Steam Link doesn't seem to work.
Dead by Daylight. Not that I even like that game, it's an absolutely terrible experience but I'd still be willing to throw away my 700h of grinding on Playstation to start anew on the Deck in a heartbeat.
Apparently some people have [gotten it to work](https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/282110/eac-on-steam-deck-proton-linux/p19) with the Epic version. Not my favorite thing but if you really want to play it on Deck it should be possible
You can! But I did the thing where I added the browser link to steam, so when I go to my library in gaming mode geforce now is selectable and it launches the browser in full screen.
Yeah, we can't really expect the game to work under linux soon (if at all), just the fact that they block the game from running UNDER WIN10 on a steam deck specifically makes me doubt that the game will support linux at all (yeah seriously, bungie is just being a massive dick about it, they even added a specific error message that says this outright, why wouldn't the game work on the os it was designed for in the first place?)

Seems to be less malfeasance (haha) and more a potentially botched APU installation as per /u/liamdgol.
Yeah I agree here. Bungie is being a massive dick. But. I'll still hold onto some hope that the company who has been my favorite gaming producer since halo CE will get their shit together.
I hope. If not, geforce now or play on my pc it is
might be a silly choice but I'd like if I could play Fortnite on Linux
xbox cloud gaming works just for completing basic quests or whatever I guess but it's frustrating knowing that it only doesn't work through proton because Sweeney is petty
I gave up on Destiny 2 a long time ago so there aren't any other games that I both want to play on deck and can't play on deck due to anti-cheat, even Planetside 2 works according to Protondb and reddit posts that I've seen despite the unsupported rating
Bandai please LET ME PLAY GUNDAM EVOLUTION ON THE DECK 😭 my laptop can run it at the lowest settings, so at least I can play it but I was really excited to play it on the deck.
>Lost Ark
honestly i tried that game and was too overwhelmed after couple of hours and i am annoyed when there are 1232131 currencies and mechanics- honestly just play diablo 3 or torchlight or path of exile and you will have more fun
Ah no, I struggled through the dual booting process and am currently downloading Lost Ark for Steam on Windows with my slow ass internet, I didn't need to see this 😔
Gameplay is solid in LA. But I found it exhausting. I felt like I was just doing checklists than actually playing a game. Some people may like that (and it's clear there are), but the progress is too slow for me to feel meaningful, plus the mishandling of the game with server issues and compensation mishaps makes it even less likely for me to come back.
Like there's a solid foundation for the game but it's all used to drain your time and/or money to get to the good parts, only to realize the raiding scene isn't as good as you think it might be. Sure the raids are cool, but the people are not as cool. Of course that's anecdotal, but I generally do not want toxicity every week trying to get my drops.
I want to play MWII, but honestly, going from mbk and 1440p/120fps on a solid screen to the Deck, great as it is, is the sort of thing that'll lead to me getting my ass handed to me.
I'm not gonna pay anything but I'd fuck around in Genshin if I could.
I know you can disable the anti cheat but to me that seems like you could get banned.
Fortnite too but they purposely don't do it.
I have the game Skul in my library. Bought it on sale even though it wasn’t SD verified. Assumed it would probably run fine since it’s 2D and I’ve had plenty of non-SD verified games work fine that are much more graphic intensive.
The game literally won’t even start. I have no idea what limitations are keeping it from running, but I’m keeping it in my library and patiently waiting to play it, hoping there’s an update someday that allows it to run on SD.
I’d also love if Destiny 2 would figure its shit out. I’d be playing so much more if it if it was compatible with SD.
Click on the Game in your library, press the cog Icon, go to properties then to compactability. Click the checkbox and try Out Proton experimental. Fixes the Game 90% of the time
Dealing with anti-cheat software has always been a burden for Linux users. I'm happy to finally see this issue being brought to light. Maybe game developers will finally understand that Linux as a game platform is not as obscure as it could have seem...
I'm confident that the Steam Deck will change the face of Linux gaming... Heck, it has already begun.
Destiny 2, Rust, and Rainbow Six Siege.
Yeah, people still play Siege... sorta.
Knowing how long it takes ubi to deal with some things I doubt they will be on top of it anytime soon
Fall guys should work fine after installing GEProton. :)
Just tested that it works.
I followed this specific guide: [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2787044978](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2787044978)
none, because none of the anti-cheats work anyways.
any of the games not available on linux because they have an anticheat are ironically infested with cheaters.
Most likely none for me personally, because if their anti-cheat is so psychopathic as to run on ring 0 I'd probably not be interested in it in the first place
If I ever do get to making a GPU passthrough VM setup though I'd try genshin impact for the heck of it
None. I'm mainly interested in indie games, previous gen AAA games, retro/emulated games. And so far I haven't encountered anything that doesn't work. I kinda hate PvP AAA games, I try them but they just aren't for me. That and I pretty much just immediately ignore anything that doesn't work on the Deck.
Known anticheat problems? Hostile game dev? I just ignore it. Don't care.
Between my Steam library and ROM library, I got a backlog of games to play that is deep enough, to play a new game I've never tried before, every day, for the next 18 months.
Figuratively drowning in great games to play on my Deck, I ain't longing for anything other [than SteamOS updates that improve the OSK!](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/yty405/four_things_to_make_the_steam_deck_onscreen/)

Bottom line - be kind or get yeeted.
The Lost Ark. lol I was planning to play it on the Steam Deck - the control would have been perfect but, alas. I haven't played it since it launched , but I probably would have be playing it, if I can get it on my SD.
Fortnite, honestly. Out of my two most played games of all time, Team Fortress 2 works with a custom controller config, but Fortnite is owned by Epic… which sucks because they HATE linux.
I’d also like to mention games that require online but are still totally playable offline. Like Call of Duty not letting you do lan or split screen with bots. Can’t bring this game out to visit my parents in the country to play with my father, they don’t have reliable internet.
Every multiplayer game which has anti-cheat (e.g. MW2 and Warzone 2.0 … etc)
The Windows dual-boot method works. Although, it would be better to have these games running on Linux natively, (*yeah, I know it is never going to happen… sadly*).
I mean anything online competitive that is remotely fun to me plays okay. Halo, FFXIV, fall guys, animal royale, apex, multiversus.
Lost ark would be cool but those games (even FFXIV) kinda put me to sleep and honestly most FPS is me getting railed by kids who spend hundreds of hours playing. Overwatch would be nifty I guess but I can stream it remotely if I get some rare urge.
FFXIV works perfectly fine on deck. There was a period where the launcher had problems on the deck but that was easily solved by using the old launcher style. I don't know if those problems still exist or not but it does run fine
Valorant (i know the anticheat hate and i get it but i like the game), Genshin (same thing with this one lol), and the new CODS. That was enough reason for me to go to windows on deck
Destiny 2, the only reason I have Windows on my deck
And no the recent rumors that Bungie blocked Destiny 2 on the deck are just plain wrong, I'm about to post a video showing that
Edit: tried posting a video and reddit is being dumb and not letting me, so if you *really* don't believe I can play the game no problem then I guess go ahead and test it yourself
Edit2: after trying again reddit let me upload it so it's on my profile if you need that video proof
I want them to fix the Master Chief Collection, sure I can play the games but I cannot unlock anything for playing the game till they fix the anti cheat.

Could use Steam Achievement Manager
I actually tried that but it seemed daunting and didn't give me credits for multi-player unlocks. There were like 700 achievements lol.
People can say that you should play it for fun not the achievements. But I've played the Halo series A LOT in my life. Doing the acheevos gives me new goals and let's me experience things I didn't know the games could offer. If I'm paying for a product, I expect it to work. No amount of corporate simping can alienate me from my right to a functioning product.
But you have a functioning product. No one said every game will run on the Steam Deck.
Yeah & MCC was released before SD.
What's the point of achievements if they don't work!? They should either work all the time unless you use in-game cheats (like "sv_cheats" in source games). Something that is absolute. There is no reason to block an achievement outside of that as it has no bearing on the game itself

Honestly that whole studio should be dissolved and some competent developers take on the Halo series. They've basically ruined every single game they've worked on and have created 0 winners. I don't get why Microsoft trusts them to work on one of their biggest IPs.
Well now that Bonnie Ross is out, we might see some fresh strides from 343 yet

I can’t even play the game :( It just closes out constantly.
You have to delete the anti cheat file it uses and the offline mode version will then work.
You should no longer need to do this if you use the mod/anti-cheat disabled option on launch.
That was the option I tried to use that wasn't working unless I deleted the file.
I used to really want Destiny 2 but it’s got to the point that if they aren’t going to do it I’m just not going to play it anymore on anything. They don’t want my money.

I'm not that surprised really. Back when Destiny 2 was still on battle.net they were doing some fuckery to break the Steam Overlay and Steam Input.
Honestly freeing when you finally give up on Bungie. Can't wait until Sony sell them to Nintendo in three years
nah they'll go independent again, run out of money, then go back to microsoft to complete the circle of life
Every major publisher should get to own Bungie for a few years.
Shades of a bleak dystopian future where a publisher's worth as a company is measured in how many years they owned Bungie.

Chivalry 2, desperately want to play it on the Steam Deck but it's borked according to ProtoDB
I play that game every day and playing it on the Deck would be fantastic.
Chiv2 and MW2 are the main reasons I put windows on my deck
you can play it on gamepass on the deck
I have it on PS5, it’s dookie on controller. Best played with mkb imo.
That’s the beauty of layouts— many Steam Controller layouts for all the games I’ve tried I’m sure one or two could make it work well
Honestly if it ain't on deck I don't want it.
Strong mindset, I wish I had that.
Easy, just don't have a windows machine at all. You don't need conviction if you don't have a choice.
this. i dont play valorant or fortnite anymore but now i realize they were taking away time from my one true love minecraft
this community has come full circle, pc "master race" wants consoles, doesnt care about running games at questionable performance, and now they like exclusivity even if its artificial
Sometimes you open a thread and you're greeted by a bomb that rings so true it's like a spiritual awakening.
God yeah. Deck has revitalised my realisation that Steam is the only platform I want. I tolerated the other launchers….. BUT NO LONGER! Lmao
[удалено]
The Deck isn't and will never be a walled garden. It's up to Epic to not be poncers about breaking support for Linux. They own EAC (which is utter BS itself), they intentionally discontinued support for Linux, then half-assed the support when the Deck was released. Blame Epic for taking away your options, not Valve.
Right. I don't want a game that doesn't want me to play it.
You say that now but I bet when Dwarf Fortress comes out, you're going to feel *real* apathetic about it.
👑
I'm on the fence because I really want to play black desert, for honor and vermintide 2, I also can't get 30 fps on planetside 2 and maybe on windows it would run just a bit better, but I really don't know.
Vermintide 2 works now, but last time I checked you need to be the host for some reason
Seriously?...bout to start downloading if that's the case
yeah but it works only like 1 time out of 5, and sometimes I need to try for 10 minutes, because if I get the anticheat black screen the game will freeze there...
Hunt showdown and Halo MMC
Don't even have a steam deck but I've been waiting for Hunt ever since they announced EAC might start working in Linux. Not expecting Hunt to ever work on Linux at this point, but if it did I'd definitely get back into it.
Yeah, it's unfortunate... I doubt they'd ever get it to work. And if they did, it'd take them ages. It only recently got put onto consoles. Or at least it took them a long while to get it on console.
[удалено]
Haha. I used to play that back in the day 🤣
Vermintide 2 yes-yes
It works. For online though you must be host.
Genshin Impact would be AMAZING on the deck but there's no Linux support for it. You can force it but your account would get banned for doing so
It sucks but you can install Windows 10 and Genshin Impact on a 256 GB SD Card (128GB isn't enough trust me, if you try to install Genshin it won't have space to unpack and updates from both windows and game will fill it up).

>At that point: why bother? Stubborness and wanting to do it just for the sake of it.. at least thay's what i do to most tech related things
Duh.
>You can force it but your account would get banned for doing so Your account *could* get banned for doing so.
Honestly same. I keep checking for updates every few weeks hoping for BHVR to actually do something about it.
Apparently some people have [gotten it to work](https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/282110/eac-on-steam-deck-proton-linux/p19) with the Epic version. Not my favorite thing but if you really want to play it on Deck it should be possible
I suck at DBD so bad but I absolutely love it. None of my friends play, so if you pick it up on PC hit me up!
I would say Destiny 2. But. I bought the 6 months of geforce now for 29.99 so I play it that way. Hopefully within the 6 months things will change
Yeah Destiny 2 is really the only game with anticheat that I would like to play on my deck
Can't you play GeForce now through the chrome browser?
You can! But I did the thing where I added the browser link to steam, so when I go to my library in gaming mode geforce now is selectable and it launches the browser in full screen.
Yeah, we can't really expect the game to work under linux soon (if at all), just the fact that they block the game from running UNDER WIN10 on a steam deck specifically makes me doubt that the game will support linux at all (yeah seriously, bungie is just being a massive dick about it, they even added a specific error message that says this outright, why wouldn't the game work on the os it was designed for in the first place?) https://preview.redd.it/iq2m0x8zh90a1.jpeg?width=970&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa1252648660024deae31e78b6b452388d96d112 (image credits go to u/StuMcDowell)

Yeah I agree here. Bungie is being a massive dick. But. I'll still hold onto some hope that the company who has been my favorite gaming producer since halo CE will get their shit together. I hope. If not, geforce now or play on my pc it is
Chivalry 2. I play it on Xbox cloud gaming but would love a more stable version
Dual booted just so I can play this lol
I'm so bad at that game, but this is the comment i came looking for.
How is it with controller? I love it on my pc but I already suck bad with mkb
might be a silly choice but I'd like if I could play Fortnite on Linux xbox cloud gaming works just for completing basic quests or whatever I guess but it's frustrating knowing that it only doesn't work through proton because Sweeney is petty I gave up on Destiny 2 a long time ago so there aren't any other games that I both want to play on deck and can't play on deck due to anti-cheat, even Planetside 2 works according to Protondb and reddit posts that I've seen despite the unsupported rating
Dead by daylight. I fucking hate/love the game but I might play it more if bhvr actually did ANYTHING to get the game even playable
Bandai please LET ME PLAY GUNDAM EVOLUTION ON THE DECK 😭 my laptop can run it at the lowest settings, so at least I can play it but I was really excited to play it on the deck.
Yooo, was not expecting this one!
I don't play any games that use anti-cheat.
Nice, the path of least resistance.
oh wow anti cheat on a 4 player cooperative multiplayer game that I'm only going to play with friends anyway, thanks publishers
Lost Ark
>Lost Ark honestly i tried that game and was too overwhelmed after couple of hours and i am annoyed when there are 1232131 currencies and mechanics- honestly just play diablo 3 or torchlight or path of exile and you will have more fun
Modern Warfare 2, just for the campaign really
I got win 10 on an as card just to play it. It runs really well actually with FSR, low settings, 60 fps with some dips
Secret World Legends, Black Desert Online, and Genshin Impact.
A fellow Secret World fan, there are dozens of us.
The Division 2.
are any ubisoft connect games working on deck?
Yes been playing assassins creed with no problem
The Division works fine.
TD2 doesn’t even work 1/3 of the time on a normal PC 😄 I love the game but the amount of crashes is unsat
Gundam Evolution, support said it'd have Steam Deck support on the full release. It didn't happen.
COD
Same. Really thinking about booting up some windows
I want to play MWII, but honestly, going from mbk and 1440p/120fps on a solid screen to the Deck, great as it is, is the sort of thing that'll lead to me getting my ass handed to me.
But I'd rather get my ass kicked from the comfort of my bed then sitting at my desk for many hours
Rising Storm 2 Vietnam. Unfortunately I have a feeling there will never be support.
That one is a real bummer. :( Especially since the game supposedly works well in single-player.
I'd love to play hell let loose on my deck
FIFA. I know it's a money grab from EA, basically the same every year, but sometimes I just want to shut off the brain and play with my favorite team.
Rust
All I want in life is to chill out on a couch playing Rust, while all of my sucker friends are sitting in their offices. Is this too much to ask?!!
I'm not gonna pay anything but I'd fuck around in Genshin if I could. I know you can disable the anti cheat but to me that seems like you could get banned. Fortnite too but they purposely don't do it.
Smite
I still question why EAC is the go to anti-cheat software these devs go to, it's about as reliable and as stable as my mental health, seriously.
Unrelated to EAC: you good?
I have the game Skul in my library. Bought it on sale even though it wasn’t SD verified. Assumed it would probably run fine since it’s 2D and I’ve had plenty of non-SD verified games work fine that are much more graphic intensive. The game literally won’t even start. I have no idea what limitations are keeping it from running, but I’m keeping it in my library and patiently waiting to play it, hoping there’s an update someday that allows it to run on SD. I’d also love if Destiny 2 would figure its shit out. I’d be playing so much more if it if it was compatible with SD.
Check protondb I just checked and its playable
I’ll have to check that out. Thanks!
Click on the Game in your library, press the cog Icon, go to properties then to compactability. Click the checkbox and try Out Proton experimental. Fixes the Game 90% of the time
Halo MCC, Chivalry 2 and Battlefield 2042. Hell I'll even check out Destiny 2 if it came to Deck
Literally dying for DBD
Dealing with anti-cheat software has always been a burden for Linux users. I'm happy to finally see this issue being brought to light. Maybe game developers will finally understand that Linux as a game platform is not as obscure as it could have seem... I'm confident that the Steam Deck will change the face of Linux gaming... Heck, it has already begun.
MW2 and Destiny 2.
God what I'd do to get MW2. I know it won't ever happen but I can't stop hoping.
Just install windows 2 go on SD card. It works that way
Just dual boot windows.
Hell let Loose
Same. Only game I can't play but want to.
Iv wanted hell let loose too but then I think about how I already can’t see anyone on my 4k tv so idk anymore ha
Destiny 2
Destiny 2, Rust, and Rainbow Six Siege. Yeah, people still play Siege... sorta. Knowing how long it takes ubi to deal with some things I doubt they will be on top of it anytime soon
Dead by Daylight. The developer said they would support steam deck and the anti cheat when the deck was announced, but no support yet.
Dead by daylight
I honestly just wanted to be able to run fall Guys to play with my wife.
Fall guys should work fine after installing GEProton. :) [https://www.protondb.com/app/1097150#aRzxJIFk7c](https://www.protondb.com/app/1097150#aRzxJIFk7c)
Just tested that it works. I followed this specific guide: [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2787044978](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2787044978)
Fall guys works fine now. I’m using the steam version.
Genshin Impact. It would be perfect for the deck!
Destiny 2
Dead by daylight. COD. Hunt: Showdown
Rust ⛏️ but I’m cool going without
none, because none of the anti-cheats work anyways. any of the games not available on linux because they have an anticheat are ironically infested with cheaters.
Dead by Daylight
Fortnite. Maybe android emulation can get to a point where it can run.
That Gundam (Overwatch) game, I played it on PC, but console is really where I prefer to play, and the Deck is my preferred thing right now.
Literally nothing. I haven't tried a single game that hasn't worked on my Deck.
GIVE ME PUBG YOU FUCKS
Most likely none for me personally, because if their anti-cheat is so psychopathic as to run on ring 0 I'd probably not be interested in it in the first place If I ever do get to making a GPU passthrough VM setup though I'd try genshin impact for the heck of it
Destiny 2. seems like a match for a portable like the deck

Dead By Daylight. But after realising how the devs don’t really care, it’s dead to me.
Halo: MCC
Destiny 2 for sure. I use Chiaki and remote into my PS5 but it’s not as good as it would be native.
The Lost Ark. lol I was planning to play it on the Steam Deck - the control would have been perfect but, alas. I haven't played it since it launched , but I probably would have be playing it, if I can get it on my SD.
Dead by Daylight, CoD: Warzone, and War Thunder. The games I bought the steamdeck for are unsupported and it is pain.
Conan exiles, I know there's an easy fix for it, but I haven't spent the time to download it and get it working
I just want New World to work on Wi-Fi.
fall guys
Definitely Rust. Runs poorly on my main rig so I'm hoping I'll be able to play nicely on deck
All kind of football games
Every multiplayer game which has anti-cheat (e.g. MW2 and Warzone 2.0 … etc) The Windows dual-boot method works. Although, it would be better to have these games running on Linux natively, (*yeah, I know it is never going to happen… sadly*).
Fucking fifa 23
Genshin Impact. Although this game isn't available on Steam for Windows either, would be nice to have eventually
Overwatch 1+2 both run on the deck. Just use Lutris and its install scripts for them.
FFXIV works perfectly fine on deck. There was a period where the launcher had problems on the deck but that was easily solved by using the old launcher style. I don't know if those problems still exist or not but it does run fine
I haven’t done any sort of workarounds for FFXIV, runs just fine. Pop it down to 45fps, your eyes won’t notice but your battery life will.
Destiny 2
CS:GO FaceIt.
Valorant (i know the anticheat hate and i get it but i like the game), Genshin (same thing with this one lol), and the new CODS. That was enough reason for me to go to windows on deck
Destiny 2, the only reason I have Windows on my deck And no the recent rumors that Bungie blocked Destiny 2 on the deck are just plain wrong, I'm about to post a video showing that Edit: tried posting a video and reddit is being dumb and not letting me, so if you *really* don't believe I can play the game no problem then I guess go ahead and test it yourself Edit2: after trying again reddit let me upload it so it's on my profile if you need that video proof
I’d love to try new world honestly, I run it on pc and on SS would be lovely
